Cryptozoology (from Greek κρυπτός, kruptos, "hidden" + zoology; literally, "study of hidden animals") is the study of and search for animals which fall outside of contemporary zoological catalogues. It consists of two primary fields of research:
* The search for living examples of animals taxonomically identified through fossil records, but which are believed to be extinct. * The search for animals that fall outside of taxonomic records due to a lack of empirical evidence, but for which anecdotal evidence exists in the form of myths, legends, or undocumented sightings.[1]
Those involved in cryptozoological study are known as cryptozoologists; the animals that they study are often referred to as "cryptids", a term coined by John Wall in 1983.[2] Cryptozoology has seen very little attention from the mainstream scientific community because it doesn't use the the scientific method to support it's claims.

For a long time I wanted to be a Cryptozoologist. I especially wanted to find animals such as the Chupacabra and Sasquatch and other animals like that. There's a show on the History Channel called Monster Quest. It researches monsters that I had never even heard of before! It's awesome!

Cryptozoology
now here is a very interesting topic. I love this topic.
1. Cryptozoology is the study of evidence concerning creatures whose existence is uncertain, like the Loch Ness monster or the Abominable Snowman.
2. A paranormal research sector that focuses on the discovery of legendary creatures such as Bigfoot, Loch Ness, and the Chupacabra.
3. The study of animals whose existence has not been proved
**************************************************************
This has always fascinated me in every way. I love things that exist but yet don't exist. Because scientists are to stuck on themselves to admit that these things might actually exist. Religious leaders don't believe in anything super natural. But yet believe there is actually a heaven and a hell. I am not putting religion down. I am stating a fact. That religious leaders belief in one thing yet say that other things do not exist yet there is actual evidence in things that can't be explained. People witness things like the Yeti or Chupacabra yet they do not exist. Unlike heaven and hell which no one has seen do exist.

I wanted to be a cryptozoologist but then I decided it might not be the right thing for me. That hasn't stopped my love of the subject. I usually spend most of my time researching cryptids I've never heard of. It drives my teachers crazy since most of my reports are about them and not what I was supposed to do.

I agree with Aryain. If these creatures don't wish to be found, that probably means they don't want to establish communication either. Unlike humans, who constantly strive to communicate and reach out to other beings in a hungry quest for knowledge, many nonhuman creatures don't feel the urge to know everything...they simply want to live a peaceful life.
