When I was younger, when watching a movie, if it became emotionally charged I would become very hyperactive and literally flee the room, often racing around the house, until the emotional scene ended. Even now, I still often fast-forward through parts like this when watching TiVo'd shows or movies by myself. Did or does anyone else have this problem?

I'm similar to you like that. I hide away when something happens like Kissing, or something that will embaress (sp?) any of the characters.

I used to leave the room if there was a romantic scene and wouldn't watch the rest of the movie. As an adult I just don't watch romantic movies and try to avoid films that contain blatant romance. It's not that I hate love, but since I don't particularly like spontaneous touching, the way they show it in movies usually creeps me out.

If I like a movie, sometimes I will watch it three times in a row. wink

Same here, actually, and that goes for books, too. My parents can't understand why I read the same books over and over again. Apart from the fact that since I read at about 30 seconds a page, if I didn't reread books I'd never get to read anything good, reading a familiar and well-loved book gives me a sense of security and happiness, if that makes any sense.

I used to get really embarrassed during romantic scenes. I just felt really insecure all of a sudden and trust me I'd want to run away but be to self conscious to be able to move.

I often had to leave the room when something unjust or annoying happened (someone was being cruel to a slave, the villain was doing something pathetically obvious and the hero was blind to it, etc) just because I was so agitated. I'm not sure if this has gone away or not, because I've stopped watching television over the last few years. College ate all my free time. blaugh

I used to do that with books. Nowadays I seem to memorize them the first time through... I wonder why I couldn't do that as a kid?^_^;

If something intense happens in whatever I am watching (whether it be funny, dramatic, scary, romantic, or otherwise), I often step up and start walking around the room, sometimes out of the room. I also may pause it and go walk outside.

Once, I was watching Sesame Street and Grover went to the doctor. I left the room as the doctor was about to give him a shot. That was the only time I had that problem.

I can get very scared at odd, life-changing things happening in movies. Especially if there's a song. When I was little, I used to be a bit scared of the caterpillar in Alice In Wonderland, because I thought the song was creepy. Actually, there are bits in a lot of Disney films that I don't like.

When any intense emotion would be shown on TV or certain words I find difficult to think about woudl be said, I'd fast forward, flee or change what I'm watching/listening to.

I can't stand it.

When something unfair happens, something annoying, something really sad or something that will embarass anyone is just dreadful to watch.

Something that really bothers me is when bad things happen to old people. It makes me cringe.

During an action kind of movie, I would literally become so hyper that I would just literally start flinging my arms around. Like during a 007 movie I would grab a toy gun and start shooting random things with the gun.

I don't think I react too much to emotionally charged movies. I just tend to laugh at the wrong moments. (I think I've already mentioned it in another thread. I'm not a very good person to watch a horror movie with, because I usually laugh at the parts that are supposed to be scary and ruin the suspense.)

I used to read the same books over and over again. Now I don't have the time for it because I have more different books to read, and then I can go online as well.

Yes, I stoped 2 years ago with books and TV shows with perverted- like love scenes. xd

Never had this particular problem, but I do have uncommon empathy for people in pain onscreen, occasionally to the point where I'll start to hurt myself. Usually the body part just feels weird, though.
