Hello, I am a new member here and I was searching the net the other day ad I was wondering if anyone of you has any idea on how to cure this disorder.You see I was checking up the symptoms and I found out that many of them suit me in this period of my life.

Signs and Symptoms

The signs and symptoms of bipolar disorder can be different in each person.

Symptoms of depression include:

* Feeling sad or blue, or “down in the dumps”
* Loss of interest in things the person used to enjoy, including sex
* Feeling worthless, hopeless, or guilty
* Sleeping too little or too much
* Changes in weight or appetite
* Feeling tired or having little or no energy
* Feeling restless
* Problems concentrating or making decisions
* Thoughts of death or suicide

One person describes depression this way:
"I doubt completely my ability to do anything well. It seems as though my mind has slowed down and burned out to the point of being virtually useless. [I am] haunt[ed]…with the total, the desperate hopelessness of it all…Others say, 'It's only temporary, it will pass, you will get over it.' But of course they haven't any idea of how I feel, although they are certain they do. If I can't feel, move, think, or care, then what on earth is the point?"

Symptoms of mania include:

* Increased energy level
* Less need for sleep
* Racing thoughts or mind jumps around
* Easily distracted
* More talkative than usual or feeling pressure to keep talking
* More self-confident than usual
* Focused on getting things done, but often completing little
* Risky or unusual activities to the extreme, even if it’s likely bad things will happen

One person describes mania this way:
"The fast ideas become too fast and there are far too many…overwhelming confusion replaces clarity… Your friends become frightened…everything is now against the grain…you are irritable, angry, frightened, uncontrollable, and trapped."

Hypomania is a milder form of mania that has similar but less severe symptoms.

I checked them all and I have almost all of them.
I talked to my mother and my sister and they think that I am just thinking so because I keep inside me all my anger and stuff and this makes me sick.
What do you think?
Is there any treatment I could turn to if I do have it?

Well, I can tell you, as both someone who works with adolescents, consoling, and other such funness... along with having a family history of bipolar disorder and having manic depression...

-First, you may have symptoms, but that does not a disorder make.

-If you do believe that you may have depression or bipolar, and it is affecting your life, and you cannot control it, seek professional help. I repeat, get help. Talk to a school con. is usually your best bet. They are free and specialized for your age group.
They can consult you on whether or not you should see a professional.

-There is no cure for depression. There are, however, treatments available so that you can live a normal, healthy life. Many people live with depression, and still become successful.

-Treatments include talk therapy, medication, relaxation techniques, meditation, and more. Doctors are finding new ways all the time to help people with mental disorders.

-Keep in mind that depression is sometimes felt due to hormonal imbalances, which is also a normal part of everyday life, woman's menstral cycles, and puberty.
Many teenagers feel as though they may have depression, some are correct, whereas others experience temporary imbalance that cause mood changes and apathy.

-Above all things, whether you have depression or not, do not be afraid to seek help. Everyone, healthy or not, needs a listening ear now and then.
