RUMOR's BIO IN DOT HACK


Ok I guess I should start then.

in the earliest manga .hack//AI BUSTER's 1 and 2 it tells the creation of Rumor and his twin sister AURA.

Near the end of AI BUSTER, its the chapter where Balmung and Orca before they gained their titles decided to fight a supposed invincible monster known as the 'One Sin' as a part of an event. Balmung and Orca asked Kite, Black Rose, and A character named Albeiro to assist them but all declined. So Balmung and Orca Fought One Sin. When the One Sin Died a special AI was released into the world known as RUMOR.

Ok time to back track into the past. The Creator of the Japanese release of The world, Junichiro Tokuoka, Had used his position to try and link the comas to the Epitaph of Twilight in the world. But was fired because the executives needed a Scapegoat, But before he was fired he Created a special AI that evolved and put it into an undefeatable Monster programmed to appear for a special event in the World as Revenge for being Fired, His pregnant wife Morganna, died in the realworld before his firing.

He then Created the Program Morganna in the world to keep it stabalized and to interact with it by putting her memories and personality into it. (if you watch the opening in .hack//SIGN, the woman dancing in the beginning with a Visor and the dives into a water substance at the end looking at Aura, thats morganna.) Morganna's program was created to give birth to AURA then it was supposed to Self Delete itself.

However the Program wasnt finished so there wasnt a set date until Tokuoka sequenced the Birth to the time when the 'One Sin' was destroyed. Thus when Rumor was born out of the need for revenge in Tokuoka's heart, Aura was born from the Grief of losing his family. Rumor, However's AI linked itself Directly to 'The World's' Mainframe. Therefore he became the Avatar of the World, Meaning He exists now as long as the world exists and vice versa for the program.

Soon after entering the world as a Wavemaster, he soon hacked his own program and leveled him to a high enough level so no-one could PK him. Afterwards rumors entered the BBS saying there was a legendary Wavemaster on the plains area. Soon Players sought to kill this wavemaster expecting a prize. This is how it went according to the manga.

Rumor turned around seeing a pair of blade masters and a heavy axeman. They attacked Rumor only for him to dodge and parry every attack. He soon realized the extent of his programming and jumped to a distance saying (Quote: "Why am I doing this.") He soon hacked their programs and Commanded them to Decapitate themselves. Both Characters saluted and cute their own heads off, the people in real life then went into comas. Starting the coma incident all over again.

Rumor started the Twilight Incident by Changing Morganna's program and making her remain which put Aura into a Coma. He also Gave Macha a legendary dagger the program itself created called the Twilight Dagger to stab a player she chose to start up a new incident to keep the world running.

Tsukasa a first time player of the world entered into the world and leveled to 10 before soloing a dungeon by following a rumor of a strange cat character. When Tsukasa Met Macha, he gave her the common item Crass Grass. Macha never having recieved a present became his friend and under Morganna's order stabbed Tsukasa with the Dagger, it deleted itself after words and thus started the Sign incident.

Rumor Found another AI created by Aura known as Cubia within the world that was created to make sure that the eight phases remained out of the control of Morganna and transformed him into the Virus Shadow program of the Eight Phases(which is the thing you see in the games.) Cubia's new existence is unaltered and is linked to everytime something is Data drained he becomes stronger but remains under the control of Rumor. Rumor appears in the first game of GU but its hard to find him because his look makes him look a bit older but he is the only wave master within the World R2. He also appears in Infection during one of the videos scenes in the Beginning of the Game. But doesnt appear again the games and its only for a split second.

Rumor spreads more rumors about the monsters and such to make the game continue as its his sole purpose. He created his own special Server, you get to see this server at the end of the anime, .hack//Legend of the Twilight, when Rena and Shugo jump into a corrupted chaos gate, in the manga they were put into a comma, but woke up because aura awakened. It is unknown whether rumor kills people in the world for fun or just to keep the world interesting. But this much is known he is extremely Strong and if you value your lives you will not fight him.

There are 2 sequences when you can fight Rumor's Avatar teh One Sin, the first is in the Third game of GU by making monsters sacrifice to summon One Sin from the crevase that Cubia comes out of although its only half out. The second time is the Final Battle in the game when you go inside Cubia, its the large bird monster. (If you look carefully above its head, there is the upper half of the Data drained Terror of Death Haseo from the beginning of the First GU game. it has the terror of death hair, body and skin tone. but it has no face, the body vanishes during the movie sequence, go watch a battle and watch carefully and you will see small appearances of the character on its head when it attacks or is damaged some times.) Guess that seeing how players are, making yourself into somthing unbeatable after everyone tried to kill you due to them thinking you were an event would lead anyone to make a monster out of themselves.
