Most of the Underdark is a series of interconnecting caves, criss-crossing under the surface miles in any direction. Even experienced explorers can get lost in these seemingly endless caverns and become food for its many dangerous denizens.

Sarest rubbed his head as he stood up in Alaklochar's room, LiN standing nearby and her half-brother barely conscious. He looked around at the rest of the room and everything seemed right until the walls crumbled away to the pitch black surroundings of the tunnels deep in the Underdark, "My goodness..." Sarest muttered.
They were in a large room, with an equally large sea of water between them and the nearest exit. They were on a rock in the corner of the cavern, blocked by sheer earthen walls on one side and an unfamiliar sea on the other side. Above the sounds of the creatures of the Underdark created an eerie background to the situation.

LiN's silver eyes scan the entire area, taking it all in. Of course it was a trap. How stupid of her. She bends down and checks on Alaklochar. He is a drider so he is tough, but that doesn't mean things can't hurt him. Looking to Sarest, she sighs. "It would seem that things have now become complicated..." She saw an exit above them and knows she can get to it with her innate levitation abilities, but her brother certainly can't.

Sarest glanced back and forth along the edge of the sea, looking at where the water occasionally pushed up onto the rocks. There didn't seem to be any sign of residue on the rocks, so maybe the water was safe to go in. He pulled a string from his shirt and placed it into the water and waited a moment. It merely became damp, but that wasn't enough to satisfy Sarest, so he pulled back his sleeve and placed a finger in it.
Again, safe.
"Miss LiN, if we can find a way to keep Master Alaklochar above the water, then the lake seems safe to go in. I think there is a path there on the other side," he said, pointing to the far corner of the room where a large boulder blocked part of their line of sight in that corner.

Dread cracked his neck as he trekked quietly through the Underdark. His foot steps were like the wind, silent and quick. His orange eyes blinked as he surveyed the room, a few spiders along their webs all that could be seen. He crept along still, his target not too far from where he was now.

LiN quickly pulls Sarest's hand from the water, shaking her head. "You never know what creature might be lurking beneath the surface." She stands upright and paces slightly, thinking. She's exhausted and her energy is low from the castings she did earlier. With a sigh she turns to face the water. "I'll make the path. You get Alaklochar across it." Stepping up to the water, the drow woman holds out her hands. Going into what is obviously a casting, those seemingly delicate hands move quickly and form complicated signs. Suddenly they are thrown out and a path of ice is before them. "Hurry."

Dread watched the two, his eyes locking on Sarest. He grinned as he kept a good distance from them, his dagger charcoal black. He took a vial out and quickly worked in the liquid in the container onto the dagger with a rag. He put the rag and vial away, and crept forward, clandestine, unseen and unheard except by the arachnids around him.

LiN follows them across the makeshift bridge. Once on the other side, the ice vanishes and she falls to the floor in a sitting position. She leans back on her hand, head tilted back as well. Those silver eyes close for the moment as she catches her breath. That had been rather draining.

Dread cursed under his breath as he watched the ice disappear. He took out his crossbow, and notched an arrow. He knew the noise was loud, but he had to kill the woman. She was too dangerous to leave alive. The arrowhead glinted and shined with Khaless. He snickered quietly as he aimed the bolt towards Lin. "I put all my trust in you."

LiN looks at where Dread is, hearing a crossbow being loaded. She knows that sound all too well. She growls, thinking it cowardly of her people to do things as they do. She slams her hands against the ground, bringing a golem up before herself. She's pushing it now with her magic use. She can use no more.

||Heh, sorry about my lackluster performance of late.||
Sarest got across the bridge safely with LiN and Alaklochar, sitting down once on the other side, looking to his mistress as well. She was tired after her triumph earlier and then getting them across and now summoning a golem to defend them. He heard the sound of the crossbow, but wasn't able to quite pinpoint its origin. He tensed up, ready to fight for their lives, but wasn't sure how much good he would be able to do as he is.

He scowled as he saw the golem form. He aimed at Sarest instead, the golem block Lin from his line of sight. His elven eyes locked on Sarest's chest, and though he shot rather quickly, he shot with the skill of a long trained marksman.

(( Sorry to rush this.... ))
It didn't take long for Werlis to reach them. He had blown the bolt off course with a flap of wings before quickly taking her and Sarest off back to the House Kilndar compound.
