It is the duty of the United States to send money to foreign countries suffering from poverty and lack of food.
Are we responsible for the rest of the world? Does the size and wealth of the United States make it responsible?

I don't think we are responsible for the rest of the world. We are only responsible for the land located within the boundaries of our own country.
Our tax dollars shouldn't be used on forcing our views on others, but for the people who feel like we should be fixing other peoples problems there are many charity organizations looking for donations. If I were to give money to a charity right now, it would be World Vision, because they don't just give out free food, they teach a family to make their own food and support them selfs, while also providing wells or clean water, and providing needed medical support.

I think it is possible to support the other countries in the world without sending them money and other things. Especially since there are people in the United States who need the same things that we are sending to these other countries. If there is a natural disaster or something, yeah, we should do something to help them out. If we are providing "welfare" for these people instead of educating them and helping them to better their own lives, then no... We should not support them.

With great wealth comes responsibility. Yes, the U.S. should help provide food and assistance to poor countries in the time of disaster and need. The U.S. is a rich country. Rich countries should assist poor countries.

Rich countries should assist poor countries. I suppose that really depends on how you define rich... After all, we have a national debt in the trillions and only a small percentage of the population is even what we consider to be "upper class" citizens. In fact, I am not sure if the statistics have changed in the last few years, but the percentage of people who would be considered poor by American standards was GREATER than the percentage of Americans who would be considered rich. I should look for some more statistics on this.

I think we should focus more on our own country, rather than others.
We have hobos laying around just about every major city in our own country. We should focus on our own domestic affairs first!

The US needs to worry about thier own problems before worrying about other countries. Otherwise our economy is just gunna be destroyed.
