Well the Accord is getting old (10 years at the end of this year), and Im moving on to a different school. So essentially one of two things will happen, the Accord will get traded in, my mother will use the cash to buy a Toyota Avalon and I will get her 2001 Toyota Solara convertable, or I can convince my mother to keep her car and invest in a 2006 Nissan 350Z or a 2004/5 Infinity G35.
Ive tested them and basically fell in love with how responsive and smooth they are, Basically I made this topic to gather some opinions from you guys, and see what you all think of the cars. Ive actually driven the Avalon, it has a pretty nice kick to it, but its not the 3.5 liter V6 that the Nissan/Infinity has (they're on the same Chassis). But I love the cars, again, just want to see what everyone elses opinions are.
Sorry about not posting for so long, needed a break from the chaos that is now known as gaia, where it seems like even cursing isnt ******** allowed anymore...

******** don't have any knowlage of the 350z other than it takes five and a half liters of oil and a tiny a** oil filter haha.

Hrrmz, Well the 350Z would be cool if you felt like buying expensive body kits and all that.
Down here they do pretty well against the Audi's in touring car racing.
Why not get a used Subaru instead. Don't need any fancy bodykits or wheels to make em look nice. You could convince your mum, that hey its a practical 4 door sedan with ample boot space.
As opposed to the flashy sports car option.

As opposed to the flashy sports car option. Yea, I still love the Subaru's, but I want a car I dont really need to modify. Im dropping too much money on Grad school to be able to afford to modify a car right now. When Im out its a different story. I dont really need a trunk right now anyway, though when I packed up the Accord to drive home from colege after graduation, I had NO Space. Filled the trunk and the back seat. Drove 1200 miles with no rear window vide. That was probably a bit illegal. The WRX is great, but a near stock 350Z is still faster (I think, havent done the research). The 4 wheel drive option is nice, especially for the northeastern US. Realistically if I wanted to argue for the WRX, thered be no reason for my parents to go with it because all in all, its not that different from the Solara. Sucks I know as they are different classes, but at least the 350 is on a whole other level. I do need my parents to co-sign though, even though Id be paying for the car. Ehh, I'll probably end up with the Toyota Solara, but I was just cuious what you guys all thought. Malethra, dont forget that the damn thing also pretty much requires premium XD

Congrats on getting into grad school!!! I'm starting my MBA program this semester after 3 years of shipping THOUSANDS of Toyotas from California to Hawaii...
But anyway, if you don't have to worry about trunk space or no rear seats, get a Z. They're stiffer chassis than the G35 and it'll be a good platform to modify one day if you do decide to go that route. G35's are good too, but everyone that has a G35 in Hawaii is punk that thinks they can drive fast because they own a "Skyline."
Or you could go the route I went, sell the car you have now and buy a Scion because gas is ridiculous!!!!

Actually the Scions have been considered. All in all I'll probably just take my Mom's Solara. its still a V6 at the least. Also, the tC is actually built off of the Solara's chassis. If they put a V6 in the tC, I probably would have bought one. Congrats ons tarting the MBA dude! I actually almost went to the University of Hawaii, but I dont want to do environmental law. That sounds bad I know. But yea man, I actually really like the tC's theyre nice cars, especially for the cash. I just with they had a high output 4 or a High Gas mileage 6 in them. I love the G35, but to be realistic, I wouldnt be able to get it until I can finish a paid internship in a year or two :/. When I watched them go up against the Zeds at Killarney, they owned all.
And who says you have to modify the car.
Bare in mind that a good percentage of people who own fast cars don't know how to drive them. If you know what you're doing, you can RAPE Golf GTi's in a 2L Audi Turbo Diesel . Its only on long easy highways that you'd suffer, and those are really crazy speeds.
Besides, who are you racing?
At the end of the day, get the car you get the most enjoyment driving. Test drive a Scoobie, maybe even get a cheaper used one and spend the money on your education or a nice stereo or something.

Actually I got an xA instead of the tC because I wanted a car that was good on gas and something I wouldn't be tempted to buy parts for. Unfortunately, I gave in and swapped out the steelies for a set of Falken Hanabi's.....
But I think the 4 cylinder Solara only shares powertrain with the tC, not the chassis. That was part of Scion's marketing to save money and hit the young track people all at the same time.
