Kaye had jacked out, and was now back on her ship, The Forsaken. Looking round her crew, she smiled and headed towards the bridge.
"Hey," she said, as she walked up to Theo. Theo was the helmsman, and guided the hovercraft around the sewers, finding the best and safest spots to broadcast.
Theo looked up. He had been working on, well, even he wasn't so sure what it was. It looked like a penknife, although it had very blunt blades. He smiled, and noticed that Kaye wasn't wearing her usual outfit. Instead of her usual dark colours, she had chosen a rather vibrant top, and he tilted his head. "New outfit?" he asked.
"This? Just something I found at the back. Thought it matched my mood," she replied rather casually.
Suddenly, an alarm sounded. Turning quickly, Kaye cursed. "Hope it ain't what I think it is," she said.
Theo jumped in his chair, and pulled up the display. Two sentinels were heading in this direction. "****. Pull this thing round asap. I want to get as far away from those things as we can. I don't want to have to use the EMP," Kaye shouted at Theo.
Theo nodded, and Kaye pressed a button. "Yuro, Jak, get those guns manned. NOW!" she shouted over the intercom.
The hovercraft lurched as it turned around. Kaye ran down to Calum. "Anything from the Oracle before these things turned up?" she asked.
Calum nodded. "Right," she said as she pressed the intercom button again, "Theo, I need a safe spot to broadcast as soon as humanely possible."
A grunt signified he understood. Calum kept his headset on, as a message seemed to come through. "Kaye, you might want to listen to this," he said, passing the headset over.
Kaye pressed it over her ear. Listening intently, she heard a recorded message, from Morpheus. Cursing again, she knew what she had to do. Pulling the headset off and giving it back to Calum, Kaye headed back to the bridge. "Theo, stop the ship," she said plainly.
"WHAT? You have to be kidding me, those things will rip us apart," Theo said back, sharply.
"No they won't. Just had a message from Morpheus, Theo. He said to park the ship nearby. Turn all power to minimum, and they'll pass. Remember the truce? They can't touch us," she replied.
Theo shook his head, and turned the ship into the next sewer entrance. Setting it down carefully, the ship jolted as it landed. Turning a few switches, all power seemed to go from the ship. Now all they had to do was wait.
