The following is a description of various parts of the Tatsumiya Shrine.
Main Gate and Courtyard A long path of square tiles leads up to six wide steps at the base of a wide, two-storied building. The top floor’s roof curved tiles form long channels sweeping from roofline to eaves. Windows at the corners are open, though three pairs of doors that are visible at closed to the wraparound balcony that girds the top floor as much as the roofed eaves do the first floor.
At the top of the steps that lead to the first floor, two columns flank the offerings box. The thick rope of the bell pull hangs before the box, disappearing into the shadowed eaves of the roof.
Three pairs of double doors on this first floor open to a wide landing bordered by six columns set equal distance from each other. From this landing, three set of steps, each as wide as the pair of doors it fronts form one wide stair that descends to a large square courtyard.
Shrine Pavilion: the Sanctuary, Gates, and Noh Stage Piercing the cloisters are the East and West Gates. Their double doors open into the pavilion. The southern half is the Sanctuary and its courtyard. The stone tile path that bisects the pavilion also leads up to the Sanctuary. Two pairs of stone lanterns set on pedestals flank this path. The Sanctuary occupies most of the south side of the pavilion. [ Interior description of Sanctuary to come. ]
The northern half has the Noh stage set on Lake Mahora. Stairs lead down to a stone tile path. The path leads up to the Noh stage at the center of the lake circumscribed by the cloisters. It is 15 meters on each side and made of long wooden planks. An aisle with a railing on its outer edge is circumjacent to the stage. To the east, north, and west are small taka toro. Each is a square pedestal from which rises a column topped by a stone lantern. A lantern is an eight-sided wire-frame cage capped by a dome.
Cloisters Columns rise from the beneath the surface of Lake Mahora and form a colonnade supporting long roofed walkways. Between each equidistant pair of columns run railings. These cloisters zigzag, circling the lake.
Taka Toro Set off to the right side of the East Gate and to the left of the West Gate, the Taka Toro rise from Lake Mahora. From a square base of riverstone, each light tower rises above the rooflines of the cloisters. At its apex is a chamber capped and girdled by roof and eaves and pierced with bell-curve shutters on all four sides.

[Mana enters from Streets and Sidewalks.]
Clutching her carry-all and guitar case, Mana, despite herself, slowed to a walk as she stepped on the stone path that led to the Shrine. There was a peace here that transmitted itself to her the moment she approached the grounds. It was a peace quite unlike the one she found after the exhale, between heartbeats, and before pulling the trigger.
Mana paused for a moment, bowing her head and clasping her hands before her, before she straightened up and walked through the middle pair of the three double doorways that led into the Shrine.

[Enters from Streets and Sidewalks]
Kaede hopped up the stairs quickly as she was getting out of the rain. She jumped up to the walls as she walked along them and into the compound she jumped and landed on the stone path way. She looked around as she expected to be ambushed by Mana if she was here.

Mana, dressed in her miko outfit, stepped out of the Sanctuary. It was not yet sunset and there were still visitors, though few and far between, at the Shrine.
With the weather still inclement, Mana opened up an old furugasa. Walking along the cloisters she would be spared much of the rain, but the wind would still carry it beneath the eaves. She padded along, occasionally bowing her head to those she passed. There was little else she could do in the outdoors. She paused for sometime just to watch the rain fall onto Lake Mahora. With few stone lanterns and only a couple of taka toro, darkness masked much beyond the Shrine grounds.
Mana wondered if Kaede had already arrived at the Shrine. If she had, she was no doubt availing herself of the time to familiarize herself with the grounds, if she had not already done so.
The calm eyes and slight smile were not all a facade to those straggling visitors, Mana truly was at peace in this place, at this time.

Kaede relaxed a little as she didn't sense anyone after her as she walked on the stone path her eyes fell on to Mana in her miko outfit as he adjusted her umbrella she smiled "it is not a good night for walking is it~de gozaru?" she said as she watched her approach. She had her usual expression on her face as she stood there waiting for the response.

Mana smiled her slight smile. "No, it most definitely not a good night for walking." She paused a few feet from the Kaede. "Here for a bit of reconnoitering before we spar? Don't answer, that was a rhetorical question." Mischief twinkled in her eyes.
With the overcast sky, it looked as if true night had already fallen. "Walk with me." Mana took a few steps toward Kaede. "Let's make sure that there is no one left walking the cloisters or Shrine. And you can help close the doors at the outer gate."

Kaede smiled as Mana agreed with her as she stood there she had her things in the bag and could have fought then and there but decided to wait since she said there might be people still there. She nodded "ok I can help~de gozaru" she said as she started to walk through the grounds. As she came upon the doors, she had not found anyone left so she pushed one side of the gate close waiting for Mana to come.

Mana followed at a more leisurely pace, careful to look down the cross passages of the cloisters. It seemed that the visitors she had seen earlier were familiar with the custom of closing the gate doors at sunset, even if it was no longer possible to distinguish the setting sun behind the thickening storm clouds.
Kaede was waiting by the outer gate when Mana finally arrived. She closed her furugasa and leaned it up against one of the columns. It did not take much effort to close the doors. She paused before the closed doors and muttered a traditional prayer. With that done, she retrieved her umbrella before turning to the waiting ninja.
"Let's retire to the Sanctuary. We can get ready in there." Mana began to walk along one of the cloisters, leading the way. "We have to stay within the Pavilion. There's a courtyard and the Noh stage where we conduct services that will suit our needs."
Side by side the two young women walked toward the Shrine's Sanctuary.

Kaede watched as Mana arrived and closed the doors to the shrine, she grinned a little at the thought of what was to come. She followed her as she heard her say to stay within the pavillion "so have you gotta any bad feelings about tonight~de gozaru?" she asked as they walked into the Sanctuary to get ready.
Upon entering she put her stuff on the side and quickly changed into her ninja suit as she adjusted a few things she glanced at where Mana was "one of the students made a mention that he wanted to see me later about maybe a fight~de gozaru" she said as she was unpacking a few things from her bag.

[Enters from Streets and Sidewalks]
Darien walks quietly up the stairs and stares into the night sky " A night such as these dont come by often" walks quiety to the front of the shrine and pauses for a moment "On nights like these I can be grateful as it seems like for a single moment this world is at peace" A small smile appears on face as stares at the shrine and places his hands together then closes his eyes " I am still left to wonder now after this how long will I have to wait for another night like this" The smile fades from face as he takes a single deep breath and begins his prayer.

Darien slightly opens his eyes and kneels down holding his hands together in parayer "This peace wont last forever, and i know I cant do this alone anymore" he closes his eyes once more, and holds his head down keeping his hands close " If I am left with no choice I dont want them to have to suffer " he opens his eyes once more and places his hands on the ground to get up " If that time does come I will gladly suffer in their place " he places his left hand across the shrine and looks at the shrine then walks off.

Mana said nothing for a long moment. "While I can't say I am fully at ease, I am not certain how much of that is just caution." It did not take her long to finish changing into her working outfit.
"Who's the boy? would I know him?" Mana brough her hands up from her sides and crossed them before her chest; the jacket she had just put on settled around her shoulders.
"In any case, shall we start with a little light sparring at the Noh stage and work outward from there?" Without waiting for an answer, Mana began to walk. "Coming?" She called out over her shoulder.
