Heh well I have been in the club for over a year, but I barely hear anyone talk about the other cosplay club, but I all hear about the other club comes from Brian himself, so I can't say SD Cosplay's end as a whole there is any hate that I know of. To be honest, from what I have heard, it is rather silly for any resentment from anyone in both clubs towards eachother. I will say this, no person should pressure anyone from quitting either club or talk behind their back like "omg he/she is from "that club"" and shun them. I mean seriously we as people get upset over the stupidest things. If I had my way, everyone should just bury the hatchet and start anew as we all like doing the same things, but alas due to persons on both sides. There will be nothing but a stupid rivalry and possible hate towards people we don't know and it is seriously not my style. I have no hate and dislike for anyone who is with the your cosplay group as I have no reason not to and hell, you guys could be the coolest people on the earth lol. I am not a big fan of the "us vs. them" mentality in general and luckly I haven't sensed any of that during meet ups. I can only go by what I heard and what people say and from what I have heard, the whole thing is rather silly as I said.
All I ask noone here to say "don't join this club" due to this and that, people should go to a club meeting to make up their own mind. I am not saying you said it, but if there others from the other cosplay club, I am asking anyone not to say that, as I would never say, never join your club as that would be wrong. Hell I am will to make this thread a "All San Diego Cosplay clubs" thread for meet up dates for any cosplay club down here in San Diego if there is a demand for it. Ok I am rambling on, but yea that is how I feel about the situation lol.

xXButterflied MemoriesXx it wasn't like that XD brian came to my friends forum [ and a lot of others] on cosplay.com any one that was forming a san diego cosplay group really. and started advertising. people from the group told him to stop advertising and he started to harass them and stuff and then sicked 3 other members onto the forums as well thats the reason i had quit sdcosplay I saw, but the thread did say San Diego cosplayers unite, so the title itself was vague as he is a San Diego cosplayer. Brian will advertise on anything that says "San Diego" on it lol or one member of the group will advertise the group if it says "San Diego cosplayers" or anything close to that. I understand the argument if it was called San Diego Cosplayers Association (isn't that the club's name or close to it?). So I don't fault him for advertising in a thread asking San Diego cosplayers unite. Trust me, when it comes to stuff like this, I always try to get both sides of the story, so I read alot of thread on cosplay.com and the only gaia thread that I know of on here. I mean I could easily form opinions due to that thread alone, but I try not to cause there are two sides to every story and I don't know Kit's side in the overall story. Oh well, as long as there isn't any drama, everything should be ok.

i've heard stories from both sides, it's a messy situation where both parties have done at least one thing they should not have done, when the site was founded.
as a general observation, still bearing resentment for over 2 years, when really all people are trying to do is create a strong, friendly community is frankly, pointless however. and i mean that in regards to both sides.
as far as i'm aware, sdcosplay.org does not go around openly, or subversively bashing on any other san diego cosplay groups, and has offered genuine invitations for several other local groups to attend their monthly meetups. if there was any hostility or drama prior, sdcosplay.org has moved on a great time ago.
i'd like to think that we can all be friendly on the common interest of cosplay, i'd even suggest that if you don't want to join the site, still make a meetup once in awhile, they are alot of fun smile
