It is midnight, and the setting is a large, deserted city. The weather is slightly humid, and most everything is concrete and in ruin. The moon is high in the sky, and full. In two hours, it will be dawn.

Dr.Crowley entered the intriguing area, "So this is it?" he said to himself surveying his surroundings. "WHERES MY OPPONENT!" he shouted realizing he was all alone in this deserted city, it was almost scary. He looked around, a full moon, thats dangerous he though knowing his latent vampire instincts. "Hopefully I won't have to reveal my true identity in round one, that'd be terrible." he thought.

Ka'rinth smiled as he arrived at the tournament grounds, his form having shifted even before he arrived at the location. His body was slightly stooped with age and white hair was braided neatly down his back as he leaned heavily on a wooden staff. Wrinkles covered a face that looked to have had a life full of smiles even as he walked through the deserted streets. His breathing was calm as sweat beaded on his forehead which he quickly rested against his staff so that the neurotoxin contained within the sweat was wiped over the grooves in the staff where one of the two blades could be triggered to emerge. He also wiped it across the back of a black gauntlet so that he had multiple contact points for his poison which was weaker when diluted through sweat or spit than it was when blood was the medium. Yet as a matter of subtlety the act was a good method of distributing the poisons across he equipment as he looked for his target outwardly appearing as a calm old man while inwardly keen ears and eyes swept the surroundings to locate an opponent. An echoing shout caused Ka'rinth to turn slightly and hobble through the streets with the sound of slightly dragging feet and the tapping of a walking staff creating an easy giveaway for his location. After all his specialty was manipulating a target to draw near before engaging in hand to hand combat and using hidden weapons and poison to strike.

Dr.Crowley laughed to himself as he sensed another body enter the area. If he could, he wouldn't revel anything about his powers in this match but if he had to he'd go all out. His short and fat body wasn't too great for fighting but he could make due with it. His held his black umbrella, closed, and close by his side. "This will be interesting." he said aloud as though he was asking his opponent. "It has been awhile since he had eaten, this man's blood would nicely.

As Ka'rinth drew within eye sight of his opponent he nodded slightly to the portly man and said softly, Shall we begin? Even as he spoke he held his hands together and began a slow chant that gradually quickened as he said, Bones of the earth awaken to my call. Deliver me to the battle fields and give strength to these aged hands. Grow within and below as darkness rises and fire roars. Arise from the earth dragon of magma. As he finished the chant once he altered his hands and forced pressure on a crack of street nearby so that a rising earth wall weak here but focused in one spot widened the crack giving the impression of a strong spell being prepared for release though in fact it was simply a ruse to get a feeling for his opponents strength.

Dr.Crowley giggled at such an attack, "Don't strain yourself boy." he said laughing. He quickly opened his umbrella which lifted him into the air safe from any danger that might possibly happen. He began to float over the city and watched his opponent below him, he's obviously trying to see my strengths and weaknesses, I cannot allow him too much insight. He stayed there high in the air waiting for his opponent's next move.

The old man looked at the rising opponent and continued chanting while drawing a knife from his belt and looking up for a long minute while his left hand maintained the seal while the chanting continued. Suddenly the right hand lashed out sending a knife upward at the stomach of the portly target but angled so that anything short of a sudden and sharp dodge would be likely to plunge the knife into the umbrella. Beyond that the chant continued and the cracking of the concrete increased as earth beneath it was pushed up in a single location to pressure the concrete.

As the knife swiftly came towards Dr.Crowley he let go of his umbrella. Considering acceleration to gravity is 9.81 m/s he knew that he would fall fast enough to escape the knife, as for his umbrella after his releasing it, he stopped all forces acting against it allowing it to quickly rise into the air, dodging the knife. As Dr.Crowley began to plummet to the ground his raised his hand into the air causing his umbrella to move, at what appeared to be close to the speed of light, into his hand making him float again. "One more time!" Dr.Crowley began to sing to himself, Daft Punk songs always did entertain him. He then reverted his attention back to the man, "cute, but you didn't expect that to hit did you?" he asked mockingly.

If it had I would wonder why you were here to be honest. Said Ka'rinth as he stopped chanting and shook out his arms before walking forward calmly with much of his weight resting on the staff before pausing directly beneath the man and drawing two more throwing knives, the first of which went into his mouth while the second was thrown upwards suddenly so that simply releasing the umbrella would not be sufficient to dodge. The second would be thrown once his target did dodge and would be aimed to take the direction the target was moving into acount but timed on the descent of the first knife so that if the dodges were slow to increase air time he would have time to draw and rhow a third before catching the first for another quick throw. In this manner he planned to throw a total of three knives at the target but attack four times if his target remained airborne without parrying or actually blocking.

[Um there are a couple things I don't understand about your post, like how throwing it a certain way will stop me from dodging it considering the speed that one falls with the force of gravity is much faster than any force that could come from a person's arm.]
Dr.Crowley noticed the knife coming towards him, when in air like this it'd be hard to dodge. Dr.Crowley simply closed his umbrella and began to rapidly descend using his umbrella as sort of a sword he used the end of it to slightly tap the knife hitting it off course and then right before landing hard into the ground he opened his umbrella allowing it to stop him in mid air and because of a slight wind carried him a short distance away from the man. He then dropped to the floor safely. "Knifes wont work, no matter how many you throw."

Yogi D. Bear [Um there are a couple things I don't understand about your post, like how throwing it a certain way will stop me from dodging it considering the speed that one falls with the force of gravity is much faster than any force that could come from a person's arm.] Dr.Crowley noticed the knife coming towards him, when in air like this it'd be hard to dodge. He then dropped to the floor safely. "Knifes wont work, no matter how many you throw."((If you reread my post I mentioned that before throwing more knives I moved directly under you. That should answer your question about falling to dodge since my first knife would be going straight up so falling would cause you to hit the first knife sooner. I'm not sure if you want to edit your post to account for me being under you or not so feel free to pm me or post in the chat forum whether or not you want to edit or just play it as is. That should help keep the battle uncluttered with OOC.)) Edit for reply: Ka'rinth nodded as he caught the first knife which had been thrown upwards and slipped it back onto his belt before saying, I have a feeling now that your either use wind or telekenesis as your specialty considering your aerial ability so now I would ask you begin to be a bit more serious and choose how this battle will move forward. As he spoke Ka'rinth once more formed a seal and began working to increase the original crack in the concrete not for the appearance of a technique, though that was a bonus, but to give him part of his other element to work with during the fight instead of simply the concrete surroundings. For now though he would be patient and see what his opponent could do. He did take a moment to memorize where his other knives had landed during the initial interchange.

"Cute, but if I did go serious, I swear you'd be bleeding right now." said Dr.Crowley smiling. Dr.Crowley noticed his eyes, "Scoping my abilities?" he asked knowing this man was analyzing him. "You want seriousness?" he asked smiling. As he spoke he opened his umbrella and placed it upside down on the floor so that he could stand on it. He then thrust his hands into the dirt, clearly going through his umbrella, yet not breaking it. He was using his ability. He then using his element made rocks come towards him and cover his entire body. There were weak spots but none of them were big enough for a knife to find its way through them. Dr.Crowley with his hangs still in the dirt, began to spin around continuously until he was spinning at a great speed, at which point he rushed towards his opponent. Spinning extremely fast and wearing his coat of rock he was a living, breathing, running bolder. Through spinning he'd be able to knock any attack off him and on contact do much more damage.

Ka'rinth watched as the man began to spin, judging by the movements thus far it seemed that he definetly had a manipulation type ability. Ka'rinth moved to where he had cracked the ground earlier with his own earth manipulation as the man spun forward and created a small ramp of earth as he approached in his boulder form. The plan was to use the man's own momentum to launch him upwards and to aid with that Ka'rinth also pressed the end of his staff down to the ground and rotated so his knees were bent and the staff was over his shoulders. In this way if the ramp was bypassed somehow he would be able to use the staff as a lever to alter the spin of the man and cause him to move up and slam either into the ground or hopefully the wall of a nearby structure. If all else failed and the man made it past his defenses Ka'rinth would jump back as he was hit so that he could dispers some of the force as his light weight and heavy armor absorbed much of the impact yet sent him towards a nearby building with enough momentum to roll to his feet with his back against a wall and his staff held over two dislocated shoulders. If all went well though his shoulders would be fine.

Dr.Crowley using his void ability to pass through solid objects easily passed through the ramp and as he neared he leaned back so that the umbrella's point would go right into the man. Right before he hit the man us used his power to freely pass through both the umbrella and the man so that he would not be caught in the collision but instead the man would be hit directly by his fast moving umbrella and a large pile of moving rocks, if the man managed to escape Dr.Crowley would be right behind him ready to attack.

As the man suddenly phased through both his own shield of rocks and Ka'rinth the old man twisted his staff causing a scythe blade to emerge from the rear even as he raised his arm to deflect the umbrella tip and protect his head from the onslaught of rocks. As he was knocked back by the multiple impacts the scythe blade would be slicing towards his opponent's torso allowing the hidden weapon to hopefully cut into the opponent who had stopped near him. As an extra effort he spun and relocated his right shoulder with a painful grating while spinning to his right and making a six foot dive after the slash so that he could roll to his feet with his back against the wall and face his opponent. It seemed this man's specialty allowed him to essentially ghost through some objects at will. Ka'rinth nodded slightly as he prepared himself for the true battle. At this rate he would need to shift to a battle form in the next few moves or suffer a gradual wearing down of his defenses. As it was his armor had held through the rocks but one or two more attacks like that and he would be forced to begin thinning his armor to repair broken bones.
((Thanks, I'll read up on it later but I've read most of the YuYu Hakusho manga so I'm looking forward to it.))
