As many of you know and as much as i hate to say it avatar the last airbender is coming to a close. What do you think will happen after the show is done. I mean i love reruns as much as the next guy, and ya a live action movie, but what else can we look forward to? Im very worried that my favorite show will so be nothing more that an old memory. Post your thoughts......

This may be totally off, but I've heard a rumor somewhere that Mike and Bryan wanted to make a next-generation series.

barring the presence of a next gen. kinda thing, I'd say it's ending, sadly. They can't really doo a 4th book because Aang is the last surviving member of the 4th element, and he's already mastered it, so there's really nothing to tell about it, not to mention that the Air Temples have had a constant presence throughout the series, so like I said, there's really nothing left to tell about the Air Nomads, because theres nobody around to tell it.

Well, the problem isn't that aang already mastered air or he the last air bender, its that what is gonna be the major goal is the fire lord is already defeated? I mean i guess the story could go on showing zuko as the fire lord or aang and katara older, something.........

The end of this series is the end of Aang's story. M&B said that they may be ending his story, but they're not yet done with the Avatar Universe. So it's a safe bet to say that we'll see more of the Avatar world, but not of the characters currently entwined in the plot.

Personally I want to see it end.
Some shows are meant to end. Not to die and be forgotten, but end.
Pokemon for isntance. I thought the first season was amasing! Granted I was like 5 and thought everything was amasing, it still should not have done what is has today. Today, 11 years later they are still making new episodes. And they are basically all the same episodes just different characters and different pokemon.
Avatar has amasing episodes and if it were to just keep making new episodes and creating new problem than suddenly its book 7 and the show is just aang going all captain planet on the world.
Avatar is legendary and the best way for a legend to be remembered. Is for it to end. So that its greatness will be preserved.

The story was only supposed to be three seasons long when they pitched the idea. If they make it any longer it'll seem dumb. The plot of the story was for Aang to master the elements and to defeat the Fire Lord. After that it said and done, there'll be no real way to continue without it seeming forced.

Each book represents the season and the element Aang has to master before Sozin's Comet. Book four would equal Air, which Aang has already masterd, and Fall, which would mean Sozin's Comet came and they're all dead/enslaved/hiding underground....

I think it would be nice to see a past avatar's life as one of the next seasons.
