Since I party sober I usually rely on energy drinks to keep me up over the course of the night. I used to just stick to Rockstars or my favorite, Amps, but recently I''ve been branching out and trying out different brands and I''ve found that the best tasting ones usually *aren''t* the major brands. Rockstars are actually pretty disgusting if you''re going to be really honest with yourself, and they don''t provide an energy kick that''s as strong as, say, Monsters (which taste exactly like Rockstars only sweeter and are also gross).

So...I dunno. I guess this doesn''t make for the most interesting thread but since I''m always out searching for better tasting energy drinks that provide a kick and don''t taste like donkey piss, I thought I would make a thread about good discoveries and stuff.

Of course you can always hijack this and start talking about underpants if you really want. 3nodding

Anyway...my favorites I''ve tried:

*Nameless Citrus offbrand* I completely forget the name, but this one tasted like yummy orange soda with a bit of the typical "energy drink flavor" in the aftertaste. It didn''t give me much of a kick as compared to other brands, but it tasted a lot better...especially if you like orange soda.

*Rush* I just tried this one the other day and it had kind of a really yummy sweet appley flavor. It barely tasted like the typical energy drink. I can''t give much of a report on the actual "energy" content though, because it was being passed around between three or four people.

*Jolt* Apparently their main energy drink is really pretty good, and they also make a blue raspberry drink without as much energy but it''s super delicious, one of the best tasting ones I''ve tasted.

*Amp* The reason I like this one is because it tastes like mountain dew instead of gross things and...I like mountan dew. My boyfriends hates mountain dew with a fiery passion, though, so he gives these a really emphatic thumbs down. Heh.

*Jones Soda Extra Strength Energy* I''m actually trying this for the first time right now. It''s kinda acidic, but it has an unidentifiable fruity taste covering up the typical "energy drink flavor". It''s pretty tasty, not the best I''ve had but it''s definitely better than your average Rockstar/Monster. It has...LOTS of caffeine. I''m about halfway through it and I can really feel the "energy" ingredients taking effect. Granted, I''m not much more than 100 pounds so this would have less effect on a heavier person, but...

I have to try that Jones' stuff.

One of my friends discovered that if you drink four Red Bulls over the course of four hours, you pass out. He was kinda heavy set, though, so it might not have been so powerful for him.

Its all about the BAWLS!

Yes that is the name of the drink. But you have to get the sugar free otherwise it burns you out quicker. Besides the sheer novelty of the name BAWLS is reason enough to love the NRG drink.

Where I work we actually distribute several types of energy drinks, so naturally I've tried just about all of them. The two that I like best our Lost and Assault. The assault kind of tastes like cherry cola. heart

The best name ever for and energy drink. "Whup a**". Alas, my company no longer distributes for them. cry Its not that it tasted that great, but everyone loved to show off the cute little cans to their friends. heart pirate ninja

I had this Red Rave stuff at Evolve, it tasted pretty good and gave me a nice jolt of energy, which is more than I can say for the only other kind I've tried, Turo.

I'd have to say either Monster or Lost.
