shinobi_legend93 YAY =] haha whats preview night like anyways o.o' is it worth the ride there xDD I've only been once, But i do suggest you at least try to make it to preview night! It's tons of fun, not that long and gives you a good grasp of the awesomeness thats still to come at the convention, also you can pick up the awesome swag before anybody else *looks around my room and sees the 300 shields and superman bags from last year* Worth it

Yup! And, If you have a 4-day pass I suggest getting your badge on preview night instead of Thursday morning, because it won't be as busy on Wednesday.

Padfootsy is correct. Preview night is worth it even if you don't really stay long to check the floor, because picking up your badge ahead of time is invaluable.
Also, from experience, just because Preview Night starts at a certain time, that does not mean you want to show up at that time if you'd like to have time to get your badge and peruse the floor. The line is very, very long, and you want to be in it an hour or two before they actually open the flood gates. Otherwise, if you're lucky, you'll get your badge before they close for the evening.
Our first year there my friends and I drove down about an hour before it started, and by the time we found parking and walked back, the line had gone around another side and a half of the convention center. We were in line for our badges so long, that when we got to set foot on the sales floor, they announced that preview night was closing in 10 minutes, so people needed to make their final purchases. stressed Long story short, get there early.

Oh, and looks like they will not be doing any on-site volunteer registration either, and the site currently says that reg ends at midnight. Hope everyone's willing to pay if they don't have tickets already. XD

Every year I go I do Preview Night. Not only do you get your badge early, and get to go an extra day, it's always super, super useful to get a grasp of the new floor layout.
Though generally all of the major booths are in about the same areas as they always are (i.e. Tokyo Pop, Viz, SciFi), the two or so hours you're aloud inside are best put to perusing where exactly everything is and making mental notes of what exactly you want to do and where to go.
So, have a quick bit of fun, get your badge, make friends in that super long line, and walk the floor front and back, from the artist corner to the mini-bazaar area walk that floor and get yourself orientated.
And that cheap bag of freebies is always fun too. :]
