She taught Elizabeth all she knows, but Elizabeth is still able to pull the innocent act better than she can. She's been with Sandra for three years.

Yeah here we go for the hundredth time...
In the living room I heard voices, that's what woke me. ""Ma' am, you have no choice. If you want another child you must take him. He's in need of a better family. Here would be perfect for him. This is the only child we have available at the moment." A voice said. Then it was quiet for a moment. "Fine. If that's the only child." I heard Sandra say. "Great. I'll bring him by tonight." The other voice, the social worker, said. Then I got up and ignored the conversation.
I zipped the white hoodie over my red t-shirt and walked out of my room. Sandra was in the kitchen, smoking a cigarette and talking to a social worker. She looked at me as I walked by. Sandra followed her gaze. "Hey, um, I'm going out Sandra. I'll be back before supper." I said. Sandra nodded, telling me to be careful. I put on on a smile for the social worker and walked to the door, slipping on my old converse. I opened the door, the cool fall air of New York not bothering me much. "That black nail polish looks good on you." A voice said. I stepped out and looked to the left on the porch where Alexi sat, my foster sister. She smiled and nodded, taking a drag on her cigarette. That was her way of letting me know she loved me. "Good luck today Kid." She said.

Mama help me I've been cursed...
I sighed, my breath making a cloud in front of me. I crossed the street and disappeared into the dim light of the subway. Two hits were already made before i got on the subway to Boston. There in it while i was getting off and four right once I got out of the station. Today would be an easy day.

Say your prayers and stomp it out...
The sun was beginning to set as I made my way back to the subway. My pocket full of paper bills. The wallets they'd belonged in had been thrown away in the nearest trashcan. I boarded the train and got off at my stop. Outside, on the porch was Alexi. "He here yet?" I asked her. She nodded. "His name's Cyndra." She said. I smiled and walked in, taking my shoes off. I walked into the kitchen and set the bills in front of Sandra then walked out towards the rooms. His was right next to Alexi's and mine. I stopped in front of the door, almost blending with the shadows. Alexi told me i was stupid for feeling this way. All excited and everything. It's just that i'd always been the new one. This was the first time I'd ever had a new kid come into the home I'd been at for a while. I took a dee breath and knocked on his door.

I smiled. "Hey. Um. I just wanted to say hi. Seeing as we'll be living in the same house together and everything." I said. He was cute, really cute.

I stepped back and stood there for a little while, staring at the door.

"Hey darling. Looks like he doesn't want you but I know someone who does." Alexi said, wrapping her arm around my waist and pulling me into our room.

A few hours later, after a few games of cards and talking we lay in bed. He smooth, even breath told me she was asleep. I sighed and turned over, my eyes wandering to the wall that separated our room from his. "What's your story?" I whispered to the darkness. Why are you here?"

I looked at my door and smiled, getting out of bed. I was earing boxer shorts and a long t-shirt. But the shirt was so big it looked like it was all I was wearing, no bottoms. I stood up and walked from the room, closing it quietly behind me. I leaned against the doorway of the kitchen. "We have a stash of soda's behind the veggies in the fridge." I whispered.

I smiled and pushed off the doorway, walking past him towards the fridge. The clock read 5:49. "Have you been up all night?" I asked him, opening it and reaching back to get a soda. Then I went over to a cabinet and pulled out a box of Chips Ahoy, taking a bite of a cookie.

I moved to sit at the table with my brown pop and my cookies, folding up my legs and sitting cross-legged in the chair. "So where did you come from?" I asked, taking another bite of a cookie and a drink of my soda.
