Learning Techniques


These are the techniques that can be learned in the West Blue. If you do not understand a technique, PM a Mod or post in the Questions and Suggestions thread. Each teacher can only teach 2 people at a time.

To learn a technique, you must find a teacher, fill the requirements, and follow the post length. Each post of learning should be at least 4 lines minimum. They can be as long as you want them to be, but they must have at least 4 full lines of typing. For example, if a technique's post length is 2, then you must post twice, with each post being at least 4 lines long. After a technique is learned, the person who learned the technique receives the awarded experience points and a new technique to use in combat.

Technique Name: Heat Fist
Description: The user's fist ignites on fire as they punch the opponent.
Requirements: Mera Mera no Mi

Technique Name: Blaze Kick
Description: The user's legs light on fire as they kick the opponent.
Requirements: Mera Mera no Mi

Technique Name: Flame Blast
Description: The user creates a large amount of fire, which he can shoot at the opponent or use as a shield.
Requirements: Mera Mera no Mi

Technique Name: Pyro Tornado
Description: The user's entire body catches fire, as the user spins around, creating a temporary tornado that surrounds their body.
Requirements: Mera Mera no Mi

Technique Name: Heat Haze
Description: When being attacked, the user can ignite their body on fire so that the attacker gets hurt. The user then shoots flames at the opponent.
Requirements: Mera Mera no Mi

Technique Name: Body Flame
Description: The user's whole body lights on fire and the user seems to disappear within the flame. This will also allow the user, when his body is on fire, to burn any opponent.
Requirements: Mera Mera no Mi

Technique Name: 1 Sword Style
Description: The basics of the 1-sword style. Blocking, attacking, etc.
Requirements: Must have at least one sword.

Technique Name: 1 Sword Thrust
Description: One straight, powerful lash into the opponent.
Requirements: User must be a Swordsman and have a sword.
Post Length: 5 posts

Technique Name: 1 Sword Cutter
Description: One slash to the opponent while spinning in a circle. If used correctly, this attack may also be able to hit multiple enemies.
Requirements: User must be a Swordsman and have a sword.

Technique Name: 1 Sword Slicer
Description: The user jumps into the air, falling upon the opponent with their sword pointed towards them.
Requirements: User must have at least one sword and know 1 Sword Style.

Technique Name: 1 Sword Back-Slash
Description: This attack requires the user to be able to slash or stab an opponent behind them. It requires skill and precision.
Requirements: User must be a Swordsman and have a sword.

Technique Name: Solid Skin
Description: The user can turn his body or any part of his body as hard as a rock. This is a permanent effect.
Requirements: Kachi Kachi no Mi

Technique Name: Magma Hide
Description: The user can make his body or any part of his body as hot as a magma for a short period of time.
Requirements: Kachi Kachi no Mi

Technique Name: Shockwave
Description: The user slams their rock-solid hand on the ground so hard, it sends opponents slighty into the air. More effective close range. May not work on "heavy" opponents.
Requirements: The user must have the Kachi Kachi no Mi and know Solid Skin.

Technique Name: Meteor Plummet
Description: The user jumps high in the air and heats up his body temperature. The user also turns their skin as hard as rock, too, simulating a meteorite falling. The impact is on a smaller scale of that of a meteor.
Requirements: The user must have the Kachi Kachi no Mi and know Solid Skin and Magma Hide.

Technique Name: Rock Fortress
Description: The user turns their body or any part of their body into a literally unbreakable type of stone. It is able to reflect certain attacks and cause recoil damage to others. IT can even permanently break weak melee weapons. This technique lasts for 2 turns and can only be used 2 times a day. Speed is reduced in this form.
Requirements: The user must have the Kachi Kachi no Mi and know all of Bear King's other techniques.

Technique Name: Rapier Style
Description: The user learns the art of fencing, which is a weak offense but a great defensive art.
Requirements: The user must have a sword.

Technique Name: Poison Quills
Description: The user shoots out a barrage of poisonous quills can numb one's body for one turn. Where a quill hits is where the part shall be numbed.
Requirements: The user must have Quills and Devil Gas.

Technique Name: Joker Illusion
Description: The user can seemingly disappear and reappear in the eyes of the opponent. In reality, the user has just escaped the opponent's attention for a second. Note: This is not a Stealth Walk related move.

Technique Name: Devil Gas Immunity
Description: The user cuts the amount of time that they are numbed for in half. For example, if the user is numbed for 2 turns, they would only be numbed for 1.
Requirements: The user must have Devil Gas.

Technique Name: Devil Jetpack
Description: User uses there supply of Devil gas to propel themselves into the air, flying. After 3 turns of flight, the user's supply of Devil Gas runs out for the duration of the fight. If an opponent inhales some gas in one of those three turns, the Devil Gas takes effect.
Requirements: The user must have Devil Gas and know Devil Gas Immunity.

Technique Name: Boo Jack Surprise
Description: The user shoots out a mace covered in white fluff from the Boo Jack Armor to deceive the opponent.
Requirements: The user must have Boo Jack Armor.

Description: The user spins in the air and slams into the opponent with spikes coming out of their Boo Jack Armor.
Requirements: The user must have Boo Jack Armor.

Technique Name: Sickle Strike
Description: The user delivers one swift slash to the opponent with their two-inch long claws. The slash may not be strong, but it is effective.
Requirements: Kama Kama no Mi

Technique Name: Wind Twister
Description: The user creates a small whirlwind that can deflect some attacks.
Requirements: The user must have the Kama Kama no Mi and know Sickle Strike.

Technique Name: Whirlwind Sickle
Description: The user creates a small whirlwind. The wind used in this technique is as sharp as swords.
Requirements: The user must have the Kama Kama no Mi and know Wind Twister.

Technique Name: Cutting Wind
Description: The user creates a thin blade of air and quickly shoots it at the opponent. The blade is very sharp and can even cut through thin layers of stone.
Requirements: The user must have the Kama Kama no Mi and know Sickle Strike.

Technique Name: Twister Gale
Description: The user creates a blade of wind with each hand and shoots it at the opponent in an X-shaped form.
Requirements: The user must have the Kama Kama no Mi and know Cutting Wind.

Technique Name: Wind-Scythe Chaos
Description: The ultimate Kama Kama technique. The user creates multiple blades of strong winds and shoots it at the opponent. The result of this technique is quite devastating.
Requirements: The user must have the Kama Kama no Mi and know all other techniques taught by Erik the Whirlwind.

Technique Name: Sweet Taffy
Description: The user throws a small amount of incredibly sticky candy syrup at the opponent. The syrup is strong enough to fix an average human to the floor for a short while.
Requirements: Ame Ame no Mi

Technique Name: Hard Candy Spike
Description: The user turns their hands incredibly dense, hard candy in the shape of long spikes. While doing this, the user keeps their arms in its candy syrup state, allowing them to stretch certain distances.
Requirements: Ame Ame no Mi

Technique Name: Candy Armory
Description: The user can morph himself in detailed shapes, such as swords, shields, etc. by fashioning their candy syrup into hard candy.
Requirements: The user must have the Ame Ame no Mi and know Candy Harden.

Technique Name: Syrup Containment
Description: The user can absorb objects, limbs, weapons, etc. into their body momentarily. The user must then release the contained object in a matter of minutes.
Requirements: Ame Ame no Mi

Technique Name: Piercing Candy Spikes
Description: The user extends hardened candy syrup spikes all over his body. The spikes are proven to easily pierce the skin. This technique is usually used in combination with trying to make any contact with the opponent.
Requirements: Ame Ame no Mi

Technique Name: Hunting the Prey
Description: The user becomes more aware of their surroundings, which is helpful when trying to find a hidden opponent a little easier. They also adapt more appropriately to their surroundings, taking note of certain features.

Technique Name: Crouching Strike
Description: The user crouches low and launches themself forward to deliver a straight, low attack. This technique is quite rapid and can deal a fair amount of damage. This technique can be used with short edged weapons, such as daggers or claws in order to deal more damage.

Technique Name: Nothing To Lose
Description: The user find the will to continue, regardless of critical or lethal wounds, such as poison, broken body parts, etc. This does not ignore the fact the wounds are still there. The user is aware of their wounds when performing this technique, and must rest if the wounds become too extensive.
Requirements: The user must know Hunting the Prey.

Technique Name: Homing Arrow
Description: The user shoots an arrow that homes in on and follows the opponent for an entire turn. Although to turn, the arrow must stop, turn, and continue flying - the arrow does not stop on a dime. This technique can only be used every other turn.
Requirements: The user must know Archery and have Bows & Arrows.

Technique Name: Power Shot
Description: The user shoots an arrow with great force. Because of the velocity of the arrow, it makes a "whizzing" sound while flying and leaves small craters when it comes in contact with a solid surface, such as boulders, the ground, etc. This technique can not be used subsequently, though, because of the time it takes to prepare the Bow & Arrow.
Requirements: The user must be a Marksman, know Archery, and have Bows & Arrows.

Technique Name: Raining Arrows
Description: The user shoots a storm of arrows above the opponent, which rain upon them for the post. This technique can only be used 2 times a battle.
Requirements: The user must be a Marksman, have Bows & Arrows, and know all other techniques taught by Baron Omatsuri.

Technique Name: Spiritual Calm
Description: The user cannot attack on the turn that this technique was used. The user prepares and puts themselves in a "meditative" mode. In the following post, the user cannot be knocked out or die. Although, the user will still feel any pain afflicted on them and can still receive wounds. This attack can only be used once per battle

Technique Name: Something Left To Gain
Description: The user puts his/herself in a certain mindset, which causes the user to believe that there is still a reason to continue. The pain the user takes will be greatly reduced by their body will still be as brittle as they get wounded making this technique dangerous.
Requirements: The user must know Spiritual Calm.
