Tiamat hails from Sweden and was formed back in 1989. I've put them in gothic metal because that's what makes up most of their catalog. They started out playing death metal, then melded that with some atmospheric, gothic, and Middle Eastern folk elements on "Wildhoney," and gradually turned into the gothic rock/metal band alive today. The only song of theirs I've heard is Carry Your Cross And I'll Carry Mine, but that was an amazing song, and I'm gonna have to go listen to some more of this band. smile

There's not much I dislike by Tiamat. "Amnathesis" (or however it's spelt) is a pretty solid album.
