NAME OF LOCATION -Antillion System

DESCRIPTION -
The Antillion System is a solar system of several planets orbiting a large yellow star. Out of two habitable planets, neither are inhabited.

LOCATION - Located in Sector G-16

PEOPLE -
This system is uninhabited.

CLIMATE -
*See Astronomical Data*

RESOURCES -
Both planets have an abundance of the minerals "polysilicate verterium" and "monocrystal cortenum." These two minerals can be combined to create a densified composite material known as "verterium cortenide." This composite material is used to create the inner lining of most starship warp coils, and is usually hard to come by.

ASTRONOMICAL DATA -
Both of the habitable planets are temperate and well within the safety limits of their host star. They are the second and third planets in the system out of a total of five.

Antillion I
The first planet is a small body with a massive crater at its northern pole, suggesting a massive impact took place long ago. It has a solid surface, but is terribly hot and lacks a breathable atmosphere, preventing any kind of colonization.

Antillion II
This Earth-sized planet is heavily forested and sports an abundance of plant life. Oceans are common as well due to the rain cycle that happens on the surface. This planet is also geologically active, and sports mountains, valleys, and virtually any type of climate one could imagine. This is perfect for a main, ground based colony, if one were to arise.

Antillion III
This planet is smaller than the first, and isn't as forgiving. It is built much like a cold desert, having little surface water as much of it is trapped in water ice at the poles. Very little plant life survives here, and the atmosphere is comprised of oxygen, but a less than ideal amount, meaning that living on the surface is possible, but would take some getting used to. This planet is better suited for space-based colonization.

Antillion IV
This planet is the first gas giant of the system, and is comprised mainly of hydrogen and helium. While it has several small moons, these are mostly captured iron asteroids and have little value.

Antillion V
The final planet in the Antillion system is also a gas giant, and is comprised mainly of hydrogen, methane, helium, and argon. But the most interesting thing about it is the massive ring system around the planet. Analysis shows that the rings may be made up of the remains of one or more large moons that collided and were destroyed, leaving the rings as a trace of their existence.

After a long journey, the IKV Valor arrived at the antillion system. After a flash of light, the small 15 crewed vessel sped into the midst of the sector.
Begin scans of the planet surface, we need to see if we can claim it for the empire.
Yes sir but, which one?
Eh?...
Two planets were marked as inhabitable... which do we scan first?
Err......
Antillion two.... seems like a fair place to begin.

Yes sir, beginning scans.
It would be awhile before they were completed, so mehrik decided to take a trip to the surface.
Sir, that's unwise...
How so? We already have enough data to know it's breathable air....
Yes but what if....
What are you.... a klingon, or a ferengi?
You're coming too..... As well as him.

Me?
No, the wall behind you..... what are you all doing here if you're such cowards?!....
And with that, he shoved them into the transporter, and transported to the surface.
They landed in a dense jungle area between two mountains, and a large lake. The bugs were annoying, but mehrik noticed their blood was deadly to the insects when they fell immediately after biting down. As mehrik grinned about this the crew began searching the area for anything interesting. After a few hours, nothing truly feirce was found, (Perfect for the child crew he was babysitting), and as such transported back to the cold ship.

No feirce creatures.... low numbers of creatures at all really...
Many forms of thriving plants however....
Humans would love this place..... Heh...
How bout you, find anything decent while in orbit?

Actually, yes.... There ARE a few monsters below, but they're in a lush tropical region approxamately 600 kilometers from where you were, so they would pose no threat to colonists throughout most of the planet.... Also we found several veins of the rare materials polysilicate verterium, and monocrystal cortenum.
And in a real language that means?
Those are warp coil materials.
Huh..... rare warp engine materials?.....
Yes... quite in demand right now actually...
.....I think we've found a winner.
Well, we still have another planet to scan....
Eh, skip it.... this planet is good enough reason to claim the system. Assuming nothing dangerous is to befall our planet?
No, last survey here said there are no threats to this system, were it inhabited.
Good, then i'll inform DS-12 of our claim.... You keep scanning the rest of the system. Inform me of anything else interesting.
Yes sir.
Mehrk retreated to his quarters and sent a long distance transmission to Deep space twelve.

This is IKV Valor to DS-12. We've been scanning the antillion system, and we see some interesting things here.... We'd like to lay claim to this system for the klingon empire.

Scanning the rest of the system was almost over, a second supply of materials was discovered on a more distant planet, and this was definately an Ideal place for colonization and mining. The crew was now finishing scans of the system's last planet, and all that remained, was the star. It was a veritable gold mine in terms of materials to be mined, but would definately be expensive...
Anything?
There are no minerals of use in this one either.... Just a ball of gas...
Well, guess we'll scan the star, for good mesure.
Yes sir.
I expect we'll be reciving a response from DS-12 any day now, get ready, because we'll be escorting a weak freighter for several months.....

They were re-scanning the area for another week before they would hear from DS-12, and it was annoying.
How could it take this long to validate a simple claim?!...... ugh....
The crew all felt a similar way....
Well, guess we'll pick the best colony locations...

After a long wait, the crew received the transmission from DS-12. All clear, they recieved the go ahead from the high council.
Alright, now we'll claim our colony vessel.
Set course for DS-12, we'll be busy for awhile....

Yes sir!
The small ship set a course for the distant base, seeking to begin the first major klingon presence.

((I'm four days late... sweatdrop ))
The klingon vessels exited warp by the planet, exiting warp within close distance of the planet. The freighter was moving to transport the colonists to the surface, when they hailed the valor.
Valor, this is the freighter. Please send us the landing coordinates so we may disembark.
Acknowledged, sending data now.

After about an hour the colonists were on the planet, settling in a mountain range. The freighter disappeared, and valor was left alone, to guard the colony.

The colonization was going well, a small colony was established by a major river on the largest continent of the planet. It was near a vast amount of plant and animal life, and had a tropical feel. Already the civilians had established almost everything. The ground here was incredibly fertile, the animals abundant, (as well as the bugs, but they learned to leave the colony alone), and the weather fair, a perfect paridise... almost like Risa.
The crew came down to help set up the colony, and it was built in three days. After this, the crew of the Valor left, they would complete one more patrol around beta cestus, then return to guard the colony till they could defend it with a station.

((I'll take my pay every monday, even though I tehnically should on thursday, because I arrived late sweatdrop ... (200 credits accepted)))
The colony was developing well, the area was completely mapped out, the animals that were good for hunting found, and a basic governer was appointed. The hide of the krashk was good as a leathery substance, and a vein of materials for warp engines was found.
If it continued to be progressing well, this would obviously become a major outpost for klingons in the beta quadant.

((Ugh, I'm late again sweatdrop ))
Two weeks had gone by, with another load of colonists arriving this week.
((600 credits accepted for this weeks 400 colonists, and last weeks 200))

After a couple weeks of patrolling, the klingon vessel returned to the antillion system, to make sure all went well. It was larger now, the colony had grown already, no doubt due to the shipments of the transport.
After staring into it for awhile his first officer asked what they were to do now.
It's a simple task right now, we just guard the settlements. But soon however, we are going to be sent new materials to work with.
Like what?
We'll be recieving materials and personnel for space station construction. In a few months time, we'll have a starbase here.
Months?.... We're going to hold position in space... for months?
No, we'll be on the surface, part of the colony somewhat. It saves valuble fuel and energy for when we need it, when we fend off pathetic pirates, or romulan scouts.
There aren't any decent places to land however...
Not near the colony anyways.

Right, we're clearing a small area ourselves, and hiding it with camoflauge.
He sighed.
We really could use a cloaking device...

((Apparently i'm now checking this thread every two weeks sweatdrop
Credits accepted: 400+600
Total: 1000 ))
The colony was thriving, and a second town was established far north of the first, on the rim of a polar reagion. This second settlement was mainly intended for finding the various warp materials in the area, and would likely become the mining headquarters planetside.

((I know, short as crap, but I'm buried in homework sweatdrop ))

((Oh yea, who called it! Every 2 weeks xp Wait... Thas not good....
Well anyways... 1400 credits accepted (600 + 800)))
The crew of the valor found themselves itching for battle, they hadn't done anything interesting since their re-assignment to this quadrant, and were getting impatient. The captain too was affected, feeling that he was forced to sit in a small village for several months. They were promised a new starbase soon, but nothing showed up, and there was no news on the subject.

(jeez... 8 weeks of colonists i've missed 800+ 1000 + 1000 + 1200 + 1200 + 1400 + 1400 + 1600= 9600 credits accepted (Lol holy shyte))
It has been a long time, the colonys have grown substantially. Already a vast klingon presence was here in this area of the quadrant. The klingon empire finally responded to the crew, and informed them that they would be getting a replacement to guard the planet shortly. Seeing as the crew had no real job here, this was well recived news, though, they were indeed thouroughly ticked off already. They were ordered to pick the vessel and new crew up immediately.

And in no time, the old bird of prey (which amazingly enough, still started when made to.) took off, and departed immediately for DS 12.

Another load of colonists were on their way, the planet was by this point, rather well tamed. A small city was in place, as were there several smaller towns around the main continent (and a mining town in the far north). Some small scale defences were in place, (tho albeit, nothing fancy) which would allow mehrik and his crew to leave their post for a short time, 'till the replacements arrived.
(1600 credits accepted)
