Well, 4th edition just came out and I'm wondering if anyone wants to give a game a go? I don't think I'll be able to DM because this will be my first time out for any d20 system but if one of you wants to that would be great. My other reservation is that I don't have the books, which I'm trying to rectify. (anyone know where i can get them on the net, without a credit card? it's a two hour drive to the nearest stockists.)
From this the game sounds dead in the water but I thought, it never hurts to try.
Feeling deathly newbish H4M15H

Wow, I didn't even realize it came out. I wonder much of it wasn't done by Gygax. Anyway, yeah, I'm trying to procure some copies of the books right now. When you say "without a credit card," would you happen to be referring to piracy? pirate

Shame on you for trying to steal from WotC. That's why you feel 'deathly n00bish', because only n00bs would resort to such acts. If you love the game that much, take your two-hour drive stoically, spend your hard-earned money (or your parents hard-earned money if you haven't gotten out of school yet, which is perfectly fine so long as you don't steal from your parents also) on fresh, crisp copies of the books, study them 'till you have the rules memorized like a good DnD geek, and enjoy for years to come. You'll thank me for that one day. wink
Also, it's 'ninjacy', and why shame the name of the ninjas by bringing them into this in the first place?
But enough of my ranting. I can't DM said 4E game because I have no means of /legally/ procuring the books, and I'm in the middle of my own game as it is. Which would be a nice way for you to test the d20 waters, if you're interested! biggrin
At any rate, if this does happen, I'd say it'd be either Vegas's or Liengod's show. But seeing as how Vegas mentioned that he's trying to get the books whereas Liengod hasn't even posted here yet, I'd say we'd have a better shot of getting Vegas on the DM Pedestal for this.
EDIT: Believe it or not, I actually read your post, and it doesn't seem like you actually /intend/ on committing 'ninjacy'. Good for you! biggrin Also, it /never/ hurts to try! xd

Alright then, if we've got a possible DM do any of you know some people who can be vegas's victims...... I mean PCs. I'm in of course (as soon as i can get my hands on the hallowed tomes.)
What's this D20 game?

I might be coerced into playing 4E with you all if I'm walked through the new rules.
And 'this d20 game' you're asking about... if you mean mine, head over to the "Holy Kingdom of Pariyl" subforum.

Being the impatient lout that I am I used this (http://dnd4.com/?page_id=204) to make a character before I could get the book. It isn't enough to play but that and these (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/4dnd/20080616a) should help you whip up a character in the meantime.

I'm good with just about any type of character, so I'll let the others decide what they want to be first. That way I can help create a balanced party for a better game by creating the type of character that the party needs.

I thought I'd go wizard, and the character i just made is such an arcanist, but warlord also intrigued me so I'd be happy to play that as well

Where should I put my character? I got the character sheet as a pdf and I don't know how to send them over gaia/the pm system.

Did we decide on doing the 4th edition? Or are you referring to your character sheet for the Pariyl Game?
