話 Story 話 A thousand years ago in ancient Nippon, the thirteen entities of the Zodiac dwelled among man. They watched over the humans and protected them from the wrongdoings of others; The emperor of the time became great friends with these celestial vassals of the heavens. All was well.
Then one day, God invited all the entities to come to a banquet in the heavens which he was preparing. All the beings were filled with excitement. When the day came, they all moved in procession, making their way up to the sacred road upon clouds which would guide them into the heavens. Along the way there was a poor man, who had been attacked and beaten by thieves. He pleaded to the entities as they each passed him. Rat did not help him; Ox did not aid him; Tiger did not; Rabbit merely hopped on by; Dragon was too proud; Snake slithered by; Horse whinnied in mockery as he trotted by; Sheep hesitated, but continued on; Monkey bounded past him; Rooster flashed his tail, ignoring him; Dog paused to lick his wounds, but then ran on; and Pig merely grunted his way along. They all were too concerned with reaching the banquet on time. All except for Cat. When Cat saw the poor man lying on the ground in pain, his heart flowed with sympathy for the man. Gently, he picked the man up upon his strong, lengthy back, and brought him back to the town where he asked an esteemed doctor to care for the man. He then left the poor man a great bounty of treasure which he owned, hoping that it would make up for the loss. He then began to make his way up towards the heavens once more.
Meanwhile, all the other entities had already arrived at the banquet. God went through noting all their names upon a scroll. When Pig had finally come through the gates, he put down his brush and asked, "Is this all of you?" The other creatures were silent for a moment. Then Rat spoke up and said, "Yes, my lord, it is." Trying to hide their guilt and shame for the man they had seen earlier and refused to help, the others all agreed. "Very well then." noted God, sealing up the scroll. The gates of the heavens then shut. An hour later Cat arrived at the gates of the celestial palace, only to find them closed to him. He meowed and pawed at the gates as much as he could, but no one came for him. Figuring out the other entities treachery, he then turned away in scorn and traversed back down onto earth -where he would always remain brooding against those who had wronged him.
Now a thousand years later, a new dynasty has thrived in Nippon. A sovereign government under the rule of Emperor Seiran oversees all, he himself almost being viewed as a god. As in honor of the ancient tradition, clans exist all over Nippon, each bearing their own sign of each member of the Zodiac. All of the clans answer to the emperor and those of his imperial court. From all of these clans samurai warriors are trained, but only one from each clan has the skill and nobility enough to bear the title of their Zodiac entity. Some clans feud with others while some have better relationships with the rest.
On the underside, a single underground clan bearing the symbol of the Cat, always causes trouble for the other clans. They are hard to find, for most of its members are either hidden or have been trained as ninjas. As custom, only one ninja may bear the symbol of their clan. This is the one clan which the emperor does not acknowledge, for their name never appeared on the scroll which exists in the imperial palace, said to be given from God himself.
So which clan will you be a part of? Will you join the twelve? Or will you be with the rogue Cat clan? Or will you be within the imperial court itself, serving directly under the emperor? The choice is yours.

Amaterasu really does not care about that, but is merely pleased to be working at such a prestigious place, even if she is doing the lowest line of work.
Personality: Calm, patient, conventional, modest, logical, hardworking and perseverant. She can also be rather naive and klutzy at times, but is genuinely kind and friendly.
Other: Her innermost dream is to become a royal official in hopes of finding the kind young man she had met just outside the palace twelve years ago, but women are not allowed to hold such a position.

Lea walked down the lonely road with a full backpack, sword, and her short blond hair in a brand new blue ribbon. "Daddy will probably be mad at me, but I can't stay locked up in the monastery forever. Especially with all of those old creepy monks. Well, I always had wanted to see the imperial palace. Lets start there." Lea smiled and headed towards the capital.
