Biography: The original Prince of Darkness, Lucifer was the person who started the original rebellion in heaven. Despite having lost to his sister, Gabrielle, and being confined completely to the netherworld (in a place closest to hell), this fallen angel continues to fight against heaven and gain his place back within its gates. During his time in heaven, he was arguably the one of the strongest angels in heaven, along with his sister. It would be exceedingly hard for one to believe that he began the war because the angel he was in love with had sworn an oath of chastity before he met her and the two could never be together because of it.
The reason for the current war, however, is not one in order to be allowed to love. The first war ended rather abruptly, due to the person Lucifer was in love with being killed on the battlefield. It was during this quick lull in battle when his sister Gabrielle bound him to his current room in the deepest reaches of the netherworld.
Despite being bound to one room, Lucifer's magic allowed him to continue to stir the evils within the hearts of the fallen angels, spurring them on to take over heaven and get rid of the angels- whom he described as "corrupt." With magic that allowed him to unlock the evils within the fallen angels' hearts, he transformed the fallen angels into demons- which seemed to have more potential than angels but gave them a weakness against the holy magicks that angels could use.

Biography: The old lieutenant of the first legion, Malachi was thrown out of heaven by the Council of Elders nearly a millennium ago. He was a very hard working and dedicated angel, but he always appeared to have problems with obeying the laws of heaven. One such law was that of protecting humans- even in midst of battle. Though he could get away with ignoring a human during battle, he could not escape judgment from killing a human in order to get to a demon. Because of breaking this law- as well as countless other minor laws- he was forcibly removed from heaven.
Unlike many other fallen angels, Malachi did not seek revenge nor did he search for a possible way to get back into heaven's gates. He feels as though he has been unbound by the law and though he is no longer a part of heaven, he continues to hunt down demons. As part of his training against demons, he is constantly training himself by keeping a band over one of his eyes- though which eye it is seems to switch every so often. He finds that he can strengthen his other sense if he dulls certain other ones. Depending on the opponent, the band is either kept on or taken off.

Biography: Azalya was one of the first demons born as a traditional demon- unlike Mavon. Though she is the current general of the 5th Division, she spent many years in both the 6th and 2nd Divisions. This has stunted her magical abilities somewhat, but after she was recruited into the 5th Division, she was able to make use of a special magic technique: Will magic. Using Will magic spells allowed Azalya to take control of other creatures' wills- though how long their will is controlled depends entirely upon what species she tries to control. Normal dumb animals can be taken over indefinitely while humans can be controlled for up to a month. Higher beings such as high level angels or demons however, span within only a few minutes. In an attempt to better her control of high level beings, she is constantly trying to cast such magicks upon other generals and lieutenants.Though it would take at least another millennium to make it so that she'd have control for about a day, it is well worth it in her book.
Aside from her constant tinkering with Will magic, she is extremely difficult to barter with and many of the demons under her command remain under her command unless an extremely appealing offer comes by. It is the stability that she has created within the 5th Division that makes it easier for her to run it in many ways like a mafia.
