I need this place too keep a running log of a set-up RP Me and a friend are doing, If you have comments about it keep it in ((otc)).

He slammed his fist into the dirt below him. Time stopped. His heart stopped. Everything was irrelevant. How did this happen? Why can't I be stronger? His life flashed before his eyes, like a movie, like a flash of lightning, but it took hours to pass.
* * *
"Older brother! Where are you?!"
Blind chuckled as he hid behind a small shack he has build for his father the week before. His younger sister, Lily, was joyfully pouncing about the backyard trying to seek her older brother. The innocent game was ended quickly when their father's words boomed from the back of their 'house'.
"BOY! Get in here!" Blind sighed heavily. He stepped out and reveled himself to his younger sister.
"Brother! You're supposed to wait till I find you!" Lily ran over towards Blind surprisingly fast, unfortunately, speed was a defense mechanism for her. He smiled down as her and patted her head. At the age of 7, her eyes shined brightly despite the dim dusk that was enveloping the world around them.
"You know father's word is law, Lily..." This was the only function in the chaos of their 'family'. Blind father was cruel. How any woman would dare spend enough time close to him to spawn two children he would never know.
He trudged slowly towards the back of the house. Their land was a poor excuse for living space, but it sufficed. Blind tried to make the best of it by making small renovations here and there, but the problem was deeper then new siding or clean carpets. The negative energy that Blind's father gave off was enough to make a sunny meadow look like a graveyard.
Each step he took, he cleared himself of emotion, bracing for what was to ensue.
"You freak," was his greeting. A fist to the jaw and a kick to the gut was his hug goodnight. "Why don't you leave? You are 19 now..."
Lily... Was his thought as he surrendered himself on the ground. Don't fight back, but don't give in either... He repeated this to himself multiple times as his father kicked him multiple times on the ground. Through squinted eyes, he made sure Lily was hiding, and indeed she was. Good girl... Despite the pain, he smiled.
"Get up, scum..." He looked at his father's eyes. he was greeted only by a stone-cold stare. He stood. He fell again. His entire life he was cursed with multiple abnormalities. Ram horns adorned his forehead. They were curled tightly and were the color of sand. Bony protrusions stuck out from his shoulder-blades, and small bumps marked each vertebrae on his back. Worst of all, a four-pointed, slightly curved, black star was embedded on his chest, outlined and surrounded by varicose veins that stood blue on his pale skin. He hated himself, he didn't have anyone else to blame. His father was perfectly normal, no physical attribute could have been passed from him. Blind always thought it was just the evil in his heart that did it...
"Daddy STOP!"
"Lily, no..." Was all he could mutter. The little girl stood about 10 feet away, here eyes shone intensely. Her raven hair fluttered lightly in the breeze. The absence of wind made the world seem to stop.
"What did you just say, Girl?!" Father stepped on top of Blind, cramming a heavy boot into his ribs.
"STOP IT DADDY!" The girl screamed at the top of her lungs.
"I'll teach you to talk to me like that..." The pressure came off of Blind's side and heavy foot steps followed. He could hear the little girl emit a trembling moan from her small lips.
"No...." Blind felt useless. Father lifted a fist, rearing back to strike the girl with all his strength. "NO!!" Suddenly, the pain didn't matter. He jumped up, surprisingly fast and quickly stood in front of Lily. The punch slammed into his abdomen, his intestines surely taking the brunt of the attack. The wind blew from Blind's mouth and he slumped over a bit. "You...b*****d..." Lily screamed and ran to the other side of the lawn.
"Get back here girl..." Father dropped Blind and turned to find the girl. Whether is was adrenaline, stupidity, or numbness that did it, but Blind stood again. He heard the ring of a piece of metal coming out of a sheath of some sort. He forgot there was scrap metal near by. "I'll show you what happens when you talk that way..."
Blind heaved in desperation, trying to see through the pain and the heartache.
Blind Ran.
Father kicked Lily to the ground.
He lifted a sharp, long peice of scrap metal....
Blind Dived.
Lily screamed...
then there was only pain....
***

Blind saw again, but the image was grotesque.
"B-b-blind...What is this feeling?" He was on his hands and knees, above Lily. The metal had impaled them both. Blood poured from the sides of her mouth, and her already pale skin grew 10 shades lighter. Blind's eyes were filled with tears, and they dripped down onto Lily's cheek. "Brother, why are you crying? You are always so strong..."
"Lily..." He couldn't speak, they were dying. Blood welled in his mouth. He spit off to the side so nothing hit Lily.
A chuckle and heavy footsteps headed into the house.
"Brother..." A small, white hand caressed Blind's face. Her pupils grew wider and her breathing became shallow.
The wind picked up.
"I love you, Lily"
"Be strong, big brother...I-" She coughed violently. Blood poured heavily from her mouth. Blind choked up with tears and shallow breaths. I wish i could have protected you...Lily...
He slammed his fist into the dirt below him. Time stopped. His heart stopped. Everything was irrelevant. How did this happen? Why can't I be stronger?

======

A bellow cut through the air. It was neither a cry of fear or sadness, it was of anger. Mehka had been slow, and thought he could get their in time, but he was wrong.
The little girl and her older brother had both been impaled, causing Mehka's blood to practically boil. He was maybe ten yards from them, and his normally happy light blue eyes were tainted with a rare anger.
"YOU WORTHLESS PIG!" He shouted at the man who had retreated into the house. Mehka was griping the handle of his warhammer, a weapon with a single flat head and a spike on the top and opposite to the flat portion and a pole about three feet long, so hard his knuckles turned white, the large corded muscles in his arms straining in anger. A gust of wind suddenly blasted around the yard, yet did not so much as touch Blind or his little sister, instead it seem to be directed at the house.
"Kid," Mehka said low, "Hang in there, both of you."
Mehka was angry, his normally happy grin gone and replaced with a stern look that was a very strange sight on his face, as if it were alien. His blond hair was unmoved by the wind, a shadow cast over his light blue eyes that wasn't the least bit friendly.

=====

Blind was taken fully by surprise. The sheer shock of someone coming at this moment was earth shattering. His eyes grew wide and adrenaline pumped in more volume into his veins. Although he didn't have any medical experience, he knew removing an object that was impaling you was bad, really bad. So he did the only thing that made sense.

He removed himself from the pole.

He brought his knees up under him, and pushed with all his might. The scrap metal was jagged, each little furrow of jagged metal ripped another nerve in half, casing him unbearable pain. His breaths grew shallow and he nearly stopped breathing as he stood up.

Blood gushed forth. He ripped off his outer shirt and tore it into two pieces. He stuffed one piece in the hole in his back, and another in the hole on his abdomen. He stumbled awkwardly towards the house. He wasn't sure what he was doing, but HE wanted to be the one to finish his father. He grabbed a piece of scrap metal, it was a crescent shape with, what appeared to be, a conveniently placed handle on the underside, almost like a bladed brass knuckle. He stumbled on, half-awake and in pain that cannot be described in words, in both his body and mind.

======

Mehka was torn, he knew he needed to stop Blind from getting himself killed, and he also knew he needed to attend to the little girl. Indecision tore him apart like ropes tied to his limbs being pulled by two frightened horses.
After what seemed like a lifetime of indecision for Mehka, but was probably just a few seconds, the muscular man yelled out. "COWARD OF A FATHER!" He hoped it would be enough to draw the man out of the house, Mehka had a feeling that Blind wouldn't come out alive if he went into the house.
Turning, Mehka looked at the little girl, hoping she was still alive.

Blind was on his last ounce of strength. Surely, he was going to die. That was when something strange started happening. There was a tightening sensation on his chest, that felt like something was drilling into his sternum. He looked down and saw that the markings on his chest were starting to spin! The edges of the star-like shape were curving as though a black hole was absorbing his skin like stars. Then, the bony protrusions on his shoulder-blades started to feel heavier, like they were getting longer. His skin turned an extremely pale off-white, and a light blue undertone started seeping through.
The warm, runny sensation stopped on his abdomen. He started to feel cooler.
His father stepped out of the house, the smell that followed him was strong alcohol. Blind stood up straight glaring intensely at his father.
"You didn't die yet?!" His words were slurring together and he slumped over a bit.
"You've already killed me..." He grasped the scrap metal and thrashed his arm forward. The metal was only a blur as it stopped, suddenly, in the wall behind Blind's father. He appeared completely unscathed. The father turned around and looked at the metal embedded in the wall.
"Can't you even hi--" Blind glowered down, grimacing. His father's eyes grew wide, then his head hit the floor.

======

Mehka looked away almost instantly, and closed his eyes. Too often do I see that sight.
Gripping the handle of his warhammer even tighter, he slowly moved closer to Blind. Stopping a couple of yards away, Mehka looked at Blind and then what was left of his father. "Kid, are you okay?" Mehka didn't keep medical supplies on him like the other protecters, and knew only basic techniques to treat minor wounds. He hoped for a miracle of some kind, he didn't think he could keep his cool to see two young ones die.

======

Blind was silent. He stared into the sky with a blank expression. He looked over at the new person next to him with an apathetic expression. His eyes, at this point, were oddly coloured, the white had turned a dark grey color and his irises were a blackish-blue. His pupils were white.
"You look weird..." was all he said. His knees gave out and he slumped to the ground. The tightening lightened up on his chest and his colour started turning, somewhat, normal for the condition he was in. He had passed out due to the loss of blood, the shirt he had used to temporarily cork the hole sin his body were saturated.

=====

Mehka darted towards Blind the second he feel, forgetting the comeback he had been thinking of when he had been called weird looking. Ripping off the sleeves of his t-shirt, Mehka bit his lip as he looked at Blind's wound. Something that close to major organs and arteries was next to impossible for Mehka to treat, even with medical supplies.
Deciding to act, he simply replaced the pieces of cloth used to close the wound on Blind, ignoring the blood that got on him. "Don't give in," Mehka said to no one particular, trying to reassure himself more than anything. "Don't ever give in."

Although his eyes were closed, he did not stop seeing. It was more then just seeing what was normally there, it was like seeing energy. The person above him looked weird, because it wasn't like his father's energy he just saw, or the energy in the birds flying in the sky, it was... bigger. He thought he had lost consciousness, so maybe he's just going crazy.
Thats it...going crazy...

====

Mehka sat down, his rather large frame bent as he slouched. Raising a single fist into the air, he punched the ground. Instead of a dull thud it sounded like someone had just dropped several thousand pounds onto a concentrated spot. His fist sank into the ground a couple of inches, the dirt and plant matter compacted into an impression of his large fist. Moving his fist out of the ground, he opened it and slowly closed it, the joints popping as he did so.
His normally calm and joking demeanor was gone, replaced by restraint and anger.

======

Blind was standing alone on a white plane. There appeared to be no walls, no ceiling, but white light illuminated as far as the eye could see. He took a step forward and an elongated echo filled his ears. He looked around confused and saw that he was holding a circular, bladed weapon in each hand. He saw a small blur out of the corner of his eye and turned to see what it was. Suddenly a chilly, metal coil wrapped around his neck and down towards his left collar bone.
"What the--" Then it ripped itself out of his skin tearing open his arteries and veins on both sides of his neck, and tearing the skin on the back of his neck, all the way down to his collar bone. The force of the whip-like weapon being torn from his body spun him around in the air four times, and he slammed on the ground on his back. He lay on the ground, his blood escaping him, he life leaving him.
Dying twice in one day, huh? I think thats a new record...

That was when he woke up, yet again. This time, he was laying in a bed. His arm jerked up and touched his neck where the whip had killed him. He touched a slight indent of scar tissue and withdrew his hand. He moaned and sat up. How was he alive? He looked around utterly bewildered. He saw someone sitting in chair...

====

"Welcome back to the land of the living," Mehka said as h e set down the book he had been reading. Using the handle of his warhammer he tossed two chakram's towards Blind, the disks landing harmlessly on the bed.
"Those would be yours."

======

"ugh...what...what happened?" He dropped his head into his left palm. His head was pounding steadily. "Do you have any clothes for me to wear? What is this place?" He knew he was prattling off question too quickly for him to answer, but he had to start running his mouth to believe he was really alive.

======

"You became very powerful," Mehka said as he stood up, his frame was actually very well balanced between muscle and height now that he was finally standing straight. His blonde hair was still in the typical fashion of a surfer.
Behind him was a table, and he grabbed a pile of clothes and tossed them to Blind. "May not suit your tastes, but then again whatever you want to wear we can probably get you. As for 'what is this place'," Mehka said, a mirthful smile on his face, "it is simply one of about thirty buildings making up what you can call home now. And where, well it is on a planet about seven hundred thousand light years from you home planet." Unsure how the kid might take it, Mehka tried not to look as happy and playful as he usually did, the kid might take it the wrong way if he did.

======

He threw the covers off his body and stood up slowly. Clearly he did not care whatever parts of his body were exposed to the stranger. "Finally gone, huh?" He looked, at first despairingly, out of a window of the room. He then turned around with an incredulous smile on his face. "Maybe I can find a half-decent woman this far away!" He grabbed the clothes off the bed and dressed quickly. "Let's move on, this room is stuffy..." He urged the stranger to lead him somewhere else...

======

Quirking an eyebrow, Mehka mentally shrugged. Motioning towards the chakrams on the bed, he said, "Take those with you. Not only can some of the women be rather feisty around here, but you may find that when you are carrying those you feel a bit happier. Almost as if part of you that has been lost is finally beck with you."
With that he swung his warhammer around and let is rest across one of his shoulder, his hand balancing the weapon. "So you know, the name's Mehka."

======

"Thanks, Mehka..." Blind said absentmindedly. He was completely absorbed by the pair of chakram he held in his hands. Each one was about 10 inches in radius and were lightly decorated. They looked elegant, yet dangerously fierce. He smiled a bit. Indeed Mehka was correct, merely holding them made him feel a bit happier, more complete. Blind took a quick glance about the room and saw a holster lying on a shelf. It looked more like a belt that would hold a scabbard, but there was small loop of leather on the side that fit around the one side of his chakram. He donned the belt and snapped the weapons in place.
"So why did I end up here?" Blind was still flustered, but undeniably happy to be away..far...far away.

=======

Moving towards the window, Mehka's smile became even wider. The window was large enough for someone to go out of easily, and by moving a latch, the glass pane swung out. "Follow me," he said as he turned and dove out the window. He did a front flip as he did so, and landed three stories below on his feet, unharmed and crazy smile still on his face. He stood at the edge of what looked like a courtyard, trees and bushes scattered around and rather well kept.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 10, 2008 6:15 am

Blind looked out the window after Mehka jumped out. "You expect me to do THAT?!" He wasn't sure was scared him more, the idea of jumping out the window, or the fact that Mehka just did and remained completely unscathed. His eyes were wide and he was gwaking stupidly out the window.

=======

"Whether you think it or not," Mehka said, twirling his warhammer in one hand, "You are stronger and faster than you have ever been in your life. Right now your mind is telling you will get hurt, because quite frankly, before you would have been a pancake on the ground if you did this. But now you should be able to do stunts like this with ease. In fact, there will probably be times you need to jump out of a window or wall much higher up. Just consider this practice."

=====

Blind stood at the window sill for a moment, stagnant with apprehension. He bit his lower lip, confused out of his mind. Suddenly, he flung himself put the window. He projected himself 50 times farther then he though imaginable. He was exhilarated by the slight feeling of vertigo and free-fall yelling loudly. He landed on the balls of his feet, knees bent and crouched down. He was awestruck...
"That...was the single most amazing thing I've ever experienced in my life..." He had an expression of sheer joy, feeling powerful and nearly invincible. The weapons, the power, the freedom was all so amazing, he was flabbergasted.

=====

"Obviously you have never been in a relationship with a redhead," Mehka said with the grin still on his face, only it was a little wider.
He walked to where Blind was and looked at him for a moment. "I wonder what your power, or powers are... You obviously have the basic strength and speed, but you should have a more unique ability as well."

====

Blind laughed immaturely at Mehka's first statement, then got serious as asked, "How do we find out what it is?" He could tell he and Mehka could be pretty good friends, given this alien culture had relationships like that...

======

Shifting his grip on his warhammer to near the end of the shaft, Mehka said, "Through instincts. Now dodge for all your worth, because sometimes I use more strength than I mean to."
Not giving Blind time to think about what he had said, Mehka kicked his leg up and brought it down on Blind's skull in a powerful axe kick. At the same time a powerful blast of air struck down on Blind, the entire maneuver taking less than a second and meant to confuse more so than damage.

Blind had managed to move to the side fast enough to somewhat dodge the kick, it grazed his left arm. The wind that ensued proceeded to bring him to his knees. He quickly swung a leg up and got back onto his feet. He unlatched his chakram. They made a perfect grip in his hands. Swinging his arm in front of him, the chakram made whizzing noise as it flung towards Mehka's head. There seemed to be an odd aura about the attack, an odd 'tail' of energy followed the blade's swing. He followed up with an upward swing with his other hand, in case the first didn't make its target.

-------------

Swinging his warhammer with deadly speed and precision, Mehka batted the chakram out of the path of his head. Having done a spin, Mehka continued to do it until he faced Blind. His free arm slammed into Blind's, deflecting it out of range of Mehka's body. "Good instinct and improvisation," he said, jumping back a few feet. "But you're strikes are kill blows, when I haven't even shown you a hundredth of my strength. So, weapons down, and punch me as hard you can in the chest." Mehka held his arms out to the side, his warhammer falling to the ground with a heavy thud.

------------------

Blind made a tight fist with his right hand. He reared back a little bit and punched Mehka as hard as he could. He didn't try anything new, nothing was different, it was just a normal punch. The strongest he could make it...

---------------

Mehka didn't budge from the blow, his body like an immovable stone pillar. From the sound the blow made, it was obvious it was powerful, even though it was obvious no bones were broken in Mehka. "Not bad. I'd say that you are probably within the normal range of strength for a protecter. Which means I'm still the strongest," he said, something hidden in his voice. "But now, try to punch me again, except try and use your special ability when you do. And do that, just do what feels right when you strike me."

------------------

Blind had no idea what to do...
He stood there for a moment, pondering deeply on how he could try this...
He finally opened his eyes and looked at his hand. He reared back for another punch and threw his fist at Mehka, he stopped about an inch infront of him tho, and opened his palm.; He was acting on instinct. Suddenly a large, white ball of blazing energy emitted itself from his palm. It didn't seem to have an elemental charge, and a surge of energy seemed to pass through his very soul. Blind screamed and fell back, more surprised then anything. He stared at his hand then suddenly remembered that Mehka was only an inch away when he did that. "DUDE! You alright?"

------------------

Mehka's clothing was charred where the energy had hit, and their were rivets in the ground where his feet had cut into due to the sheer force of what hit him. His skin was raw, but otherwise he was okay and still standing straight.
"Ow," he said in response to Blind's question, though from the way he was slightly sarcastic showed he was okay. "Definitely not going to ask you to do that to me again," he said.

--------------------

"Ah Jeez...It felt like that wasn't as full as I could go tho...Are there any targets or practice ground around here?!" He was almost ecstatic, despite almost hurting Mehka. He looked around the grounds they were on, hoping he would be able to practice a lot more with Mehka.
PostPosted: Wed Jun 18, 2008 10:00 pm

"These trees aren't exactly here for decoration," Mehka said, swinging his warhammer into one, the entire thing uprooting and snapping like twig. Almost instantly the broken tree phased into the ground and a new one took its place.
In fact, the trees seemed to be aligned in a perfect way for target practice.

-----------------

Blind closed his eyes and held his hand out again. It was pointed towards the trees this time, far away from Mehka. As his eyes were closed, he tried focusing whatever energy he had towards his palm. He had no idea what he was doing, but a tingling sensation started forming on his palm! If Mehka was watching, there was highly visible white glow forming around Blind's hand. Nothing seemed to e happening besides his palm just getting more tingly by the second. He opened his eyes and saw the glow that was forming. He tired rearing his hand back and 'throwing' it like he did before. When he pushed his palm forward, a foot wide ball of pure, seemingly blazing energy blast from Blind's hand, completely obliterating the tree he was aiming for, and the two behind that. "Wow..." He was speechless to say the least. He turned to see what Mehka's reaction would be to this...

----------------------------

Nodding, Mehka said, "I doubt that is all you can do with your ability, which seems to be an energy manipulation of sorts. Though, still interesting." As Mehka spoke the demolished tree seemed to grow from nothing and resume its job of standing firm. "See what you can do with your weapons, namely try to use your energy manipulation with them and recall them once you throw them."

---------------------

"Uhm...alrighty then..." Blind grabbed his one chakram off the loop on his belt. He looked down at it, almost instantly feeling an odd connection to the blade. As he felt the leathery grip on the inside of the chakram, it seemed to be bidding him to do things. He was a bit confused at first. Soon he just stopped trying to decipher the feleing and went with it. He closed his eyes again and grasped the handle firmly. The energy he manipulated before not only went to his hand, but it bled into the chakram itself. He peeked his eyes open and saw that the edges of the blade were glowing slightly. He looked and tilted his head at the blade. It was bidding him to just believe a little more. He let out a breath of air and prepared to throw the chakram. As he launched it, it felt as though a string were attached to the handle. The weapon whizzed through the air, literally cutting the air it came into contact with. It sliced the tree clean in half. Blind pulled is arm back a bit and realzied the 'string' that connected him and the chakram could affect its direction. He moved his arm to the left and as it flew the chakram started veering off to the left, taking down another tree. He made more dramatic movements now, almost dancing with the blade. It whizzed right and left, forward and back, until he pulled it back like a yo-yo, and it landed neatly in his hand. "This is amazing!!" He was truely over-joyed.

---------------------------

Nodding once more, Mehka lifted his warhammer and let it rest on his shoulder. "So we need to train you in precision, speed, and increased reaction time for your energy manipulation. That however, can wait for later. Right now I say we get food and I introduce you to whoever might be running around." Mehka started to walk towards one of the buildings, beckoning for Blind to follow.

--------------------

Blind nodded and quickly caught up with Mehka. This was probably going to sound more childish then it did in his head, but Blind was alone now. Even more then he once was. He asked Mehka, "Hey Mehka? C-can....Can I call you my first friend?" He was really flustered, just thinking about how stupid he must sound at the moment, but he wanted some sort of hope that this path he is following will lead him to a promising future...

----------------------------

Slapping Blind on the back, but careful to avoid the spikes on his shoulder and not to hit him to hard since he had issues controlling his strength, Mehka nodded. "Sure, though it would help if I knew your name."
A silent shape on the rooftops moved, and what looked like a statue stood up and jumped, landing silently behind both Blind and Mehka, staying out of their lines of sight and completely silent in his movements.

--------------------------

"You can call me Blind, thats all i was known as back home..." As the man was 'supposedly' undetected, Blind suddenly felt a rush go up his spine, like that cold feeling when you feel like you are being followed. He turned around to see if there really was anyone. He hadn't heard or seen anything, but the nagging sense of another presence made him turn around...

---------------------

Mehka turned as well, having seen Blind's sudden action. A man, who looked a lot like an elf, if not one, due to his pointed ears, slender body, and naturally graceful movements, stood behind them. A pair of butterfly swords were in a single sheath side by side on his left leg. He wore dark blue pants, a vest of the same color that didn't cover more than a bit of his front, a white shirt whose sleeves went close to his wrists, a dark blue bandanna which hid most of his snow white hair, and a pair of what looked like moccasin. The clothing was made of a light material that looked quite comfortable while durable at the same time. His arms were crossed and he seemed to be leaning on solid air. "Mehka, what's with the faun?" The man, who looked to be in his earlier twenties, asked. "I though you gave up on the goat women after that incident."

---------------------

Blind's nostrils instantly flared and his eyebrows furrowed in anger. "You got a problem, buddy?" His face wasn't flushing or turning red, but his levels of annoyance and anger were extremely obvious in his tone and facial expression. He glared at the cool face of the elven-like person standing ever so eloquently before him. Who is this guy... He thought to himself...

-----------------------

"Xanxay," Mehka said, apparently ignoring what the new arrival had said and actually a little happy to see the him, "I presume you were watching us just about the entire time?"
"Its hard not to when you start swinging your weapon around," the new arrival said.
"Blind," Mehka said, "this is Xanxay. Xanxay, this is Blind, the new arrival."
The elf like man simply nodded, as if it were nothing special.

---------------------------

"So what're his powers?" Blind was clearly trying not to talk to this man named Xanxay directly. After being blown off like that It would've sent his self-respect down the drain to just start talking to him. He could already tell this guy was gonna be trouble, and this high-and-mighty attitude was gonna piss Blind off really fast...

-------------------------

"Same as mine, though instead of his strength being massively increased like mine his agility is way above all but one other amongst us," Mehka said, aware of what was going on.
Xanxay, aware as well, simply said, "Which is the ability to control air. Anything from density to the wind and creating small 'air' blades." He seemed unfazed by how Blind was reacting, in fact his voice was close to emotionless and quite cold.
