How do you make your worlds more real?
For instance, I find myself thinking about ideas for my campaigns constantly. I also find pictures and literature and things to spark ideas. I'm reading William Gibson's Neuromancer right now in order to develop ideas for the Cyberpunk RPG.
Do others do this sort of thing, or am I just crazy?

Yes, Rick. Hell, yes.
Look for inspiration from every possible source. Inspiration is a godsend, and good inspiration... like an orignial idea, even if it's not so original, but seems that way... is a miracle.
For instance, I had a dream a few days back that felt like a Kingdom Hearts game about a human, an elf, and a dwarf protecting an airship, but having to enter a necropolis to get more fuel for it, because the fuel crystal had been stolen during the fight. But the necropolis mission was a trap. I don't remember how the dream continued, but I'm definitely using it as the base for an adventure in my Holy Kingdom of Pariyl campaign (big secret--hush hush) blaugh
Long story, short: Look for inspiration everywhere. You'll be surprised where some of the best ideas come from. 3nodding
