Skander Gunther McHale  I'm the faithful puppet of: ashlovesdraco! Before my dad died he always wanted a son named: Skander || Gunther || McHale I'd rather be called: Skander, Skands, McHale than: Skan, Skans, Gun, Gunther You lot think I'm: enegetic, funny, kind, outgoing, thoughtful of people's feelings, a guy that sings and dances at the most random moments And I think I'm: everything you think and more! Not to mention smokin', haha, I'm kidding! I can prove that I'm a: boy that tries to win over the: girls with my dance moves and melodic voice First year the rattly old hat yelled: Gryffindor! I granted the world my presence on: December 19th And according to the star I'm a: Sagittarius That is: 15 years young This is going to be a great: 5th year here at Hogwarts My mum and dad are: Darlene and Edmund McHale And they make my blood: half-and-half My trusty magic stick is: 7 3/4 inches long, made of: black palm wood, with a core of: dragon heartstring Though I do cat impersonations my patronous is a: big cat. Well more specifically a Bengal Tiger For communication reason my mum bought me a:barn owl before my second year at Hogwarts Who bears the name: the Joker Do I play quidditch?: Nah, I'd rather watch than play. But I do fly just for fun I like to think that I'm: totally smokin' when it comes to the way I look, but I know that not all people think so. But that's okay, no big deal. When it comes to looks there's not too many features that sets me apart from all the other guys at Hogwarts and the world. For one, I'm pretty average when it comes to height, 5 feet 8 inches, and I'm hoping that I'll keep growing. After all, my on and off girlfriend Melanie Parks is taller than me by an inch and a half, and she's still growing. So I think over time, I too will grow, and overpass her when I finally reach 6 foot. Due to my height my foot size is a little big, a size nine actually. Oh, I'm also pretty skinny, it's kind of weird actually. I'm told often that I'm under-weight. But I eat enough for two people a day, so I guess I have a fast metabolism or something like that. Oh but due to all the random dancing I do, I do have muscles, which are pretty nice looking if I must say so myself.
When I've been in the sun continoulsy for a period of days my hair becomes alighter shade than usual, more like a chestnut brown. But living in England we don't get a ton of sun, so my hair is normally a dull shade of brown. Two years ago--so my third year--I thought highlights would be a cool idea, but boy was I wrong! All the guys kept slamming on my hair and making fun of me so I haven't gotten highlights since. But if you look at my hair very closely you can still see some traces of those darn highlights. My hair is cut in a shaggy style, it's easier to take care of this way and I kind of like to shake it. You know, like a mane, except not really. It's not so long though because you can still see my eyes and eyebrows. Also, it's a bit longer in the back too. One cool thing is that when you mess up my hair or if I shake it, all the hair goes back into place. My eyes aren't spectacular, but I like them. They're usually a shade of deep sky blue, but sometimes they can be a dark blue or even a shade of green. My lips are pink and a little bit fuller than most guys, must be a trait I got from my mum.
Oh, and I do have one ear pierced. My left one, so when I'm facing you it looks like my right one is pierced, but it's not, it's definetly my left one that I got peirced. Remember when I told you I most likely got my full lips from my mum? Well there's another feature that I got from my mum, my hips. And I'm not even joking! I've got women's hips okay? So that makes my err...arse...a bit...larger.. So yea, I normally have to wear girls pants when I want to wear skinny jeans. But that's okay I guess, as long as nobody sees me shopping in the girl's section, I'm all good.
I don't have a usual outfit or "signature item of clothing." I wear whatever I feel like. I could wear skinny jeans one day and wear totally baggy pants the next. I normally wear what's on the top of my trunk and find something that matches it. But if you must know what I have in my wardrobe than I guess I can tell you, I have time. Okay so here's the type of clothes I own: skinny jeans (girls), baggy jeans, t-shirts with funny sayings, polos, solid colored t's, long sleeved shirts, button ups, ties, basketball shirt, tank tops sweatshirt, zip up hoodies, leather jackets, and yea, I think that's it. You satisfied now? You better be cause you've just learned all my secrets when it comes to the way I look! Haha, I'm only kidding, you don't have to be satisfied. My life: isn't all that great, I mean for one thing my dad died before I was even born. But that isn't even the beginning of my story. So I guess I'll tell you my life story by starting at the beginning: when my parents first met. This might sound a little lame but my dad actually fell for my mum way before she fell for him. He was out with some buddies a few days after his high school graduation when he saw her, my mum that is. She too was out with some friends. My dad sat there not longer listening to what his friends were going on about, intead he was staring at Darlene, my mum. And he kept on staring at her until she and her friends left a half hour later. He sadly watched her go dissapointed that he didn't talk to her, or get her to look his way. But wait, there was something at her table, her pink summer sweater! My dad went to her table, picked it up, and took in her scent. A vanilla smell, it suited her well.
My dad walked back to his friends with her pink sweater and asked if they knew those girls that had just left and were sitting only a few tables down. His friend, Adam, said yea, the brunette with the green eyes lived across the street from him. But Adam also told him that she wasn't home a lot, well, at least during the school year she wasn't. "She must got to a private school or soemthing," said Adam. But my dad didn't care, he wanted to talk to her, get to know her. He was in love with her and didn't even know it then. Though Adam fussed about it, he drove my dad to his house and pointed to my mum's house. Nervous, my dad walked up to her house slowly. When he reached her doorstep he hesitated before ringing the doorbell, but quickly pushed it before he could regret anything. My dad clutched the pink sweater in his big hands and waited, about a minute later she appeared at the door, looking as beautiful as he remembered. Speechless my dad wordlessly handed her her sweater. She looked confused but than smiled and thanked my dad for bringing it back. If her mother had ever found out that she had foolishly left it the diner my mum would have been grounded. Finally finding the words to speak my dad asked my mum if she would like to go to a graduation party some guy was holding for all the graduates. She said sure but she'd have to ask first. When my mum had gotten permission to go my dad held out his hand for her to take and she took it, no hesitation in sight or mind.
Excatly two years after that night my parents married, both were 21 at the time. By now, my dad knew all about my mum being a witch and he was fine with it. Afterall, he loved her and he wouldn't let her differences stand in the way of their relationship. My mum was eight months pregnant with me when my dad died. He died of a heart attack, he always had heart problems, even when he was a kid. He almost died at the age of ten and then, eleven years later, he died at the young age of 21. My mum was heart broken and never married again. She always tell sme the reason she never remarried was because she loved dad so much she'd feel guilty marrying another man. She would have never had an affair so what was the point of remarrying when she loved my dad and my dad only? To tell you the truth, I didn't know the answer. But I guess my mum's the right one, afterall, she is the adult.
My mum said I was born on a sunny, but chilly day. She told me (and still does) that she was so happy when I was born. I was the light and hope that she needed so desperately after my dad had died. She also told me that he would have loved me so much, just like she does. But she did apologize for one thing: my name. For some odd reason my dad wanted to name his son Skander Gunther. So my mum granted this wish and named me just that, Skander Gunther. I don't mind actually, I think it's a cool name and that it suits me well. How does a name suit a person? I have no clue...haha.
Even when I was little I looked out for my mum, worried that she would be too sad without dad. Even now I sometimes catch her looking at his pictures with a sad, loving look on her face. So sad that her bright green eyes dim and look hazel. Though my mum knew I was going to be a wizard ("You just have to be Skander! I just know it!") she sent me to muggle school, just in case I ended up not being magical. I never really fit in there. I was always made of fun of by the other kids because I wanted to become a singer, or a dancer, or a singer that dances, or a dancer that sings. So I sat alone and learned, ignoring all the mean things the other kids said to me. I developed the habit of having to always be doing something, something to keep my mind racing and my body energized. I started to sing and dance in public, not caring when people (mainly kids) laughed and pointed. I watched the telly, copying Elvis' and Michael Jackson's dance moves, and started to develop my own style, my own beat, my own....well self in a way. Dancing and singing made me happy and when I showed my mum what I could do it made her happy and proud. So happy and proud I started entering into any available contest there was. I didn't win a lot, but I got to do what I loved in front of people that wouldn't make fun of me, but encourage me to keep doing what I love doing.
 I didn't show any signs of magical abilities until I was eight; it was a night of a talent contest. I was prepared to sing a song and dance to it. In the middle of my routine I wondered why I didn't ask my mum if I could have lights shine during my performance. Just as I was thining that multi-colored light started blinking. And they kept on blinking throughout my performance. They blinked at all the right times, they made my dance moves (in my opinion) look even better. I think the lights are what made my performance stellar because that was the first talent contest I had won. When I went up on stage to collect my trophy I looked in the audience for my mum and when I found her I saw her smiling wide and proud. She mouthed, "You were so magical up there!" I nodded with a knowing smile on my face.
After that night my mum finally talked to me about Hogwarts. She told me even though she was a pureblooded wizard, I was what they called a half-blood since my mum was a pureblood and my dad was a muggle--a nonmagical being. She told me about the four houses: Slytherin, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw. My mum was in put in Slytherin like all the wizards before her. She told me that most believed that all slytherins grew up to be bad people and I told her that couldn't be true because look at her, she wasn't bad at all! She laughed and then told me to never judge a person by what house they were in, she would be proud of me whatever house I went into. But even though she was telling me all this I realized that I wanted to be in Gryffindor, the house for those brave enough.
And when I entered Hogwarts I was put into Gryffindor, and just like my mum said she would, she was so proud of me. And I did (and still do) what she said, to never judge a person by what house they were placed in. I really enjoyed being in Hogwarts, I finally had a place where I fit in, sure I was still made fun of by some people, but at least I found people who liked me for me. I breezed through the school year being an average student and couldn't wait to go back again. When I went back I saw her. Her as in Melanie Parks. She was beautiful, I guess I know what my dad felt like when he first saw my mum. I couldn't take my eyes off of her. I was disspointed when the hat shouted "Slytherin!" but that didn't stop me from talking to her. Nope, it just made me even more determined to make her mine. We've had a bit of a complicated relationship, we've been on and off as boyfriend and girlfriend since her first year at Hogwarts. She's normally the one that breaks things off, but thats okay, someday we'll work things out. I hope. I'm the type of guy that can: joke about anything. Well, anything that won't seriously offend anyone. I didn't even know I was funny until a girl in my fourth grade class told me so. But the thing was she told me I was funny in a dorky way. Which means that I say funny things without even realizing it. I have an opinion on just about everything that happens, but I don't voice it out loud normally, I keep other people's feelings in mind. But if you happen to be near me and listen carefully, you'll be able to hear what I say and you might just laugh. I still don't know why some people laugh at the things I say, but it's cool, it's nice being called funny sometimes. When people tell me that I'm funny I normally just smile and say, "Really? I didn't know.." because truly, I didn't know I had the ability to make people laugh.
Okay anybody who is anybody (which you all are, no worries there!) should know that I sing and dance...at random moments. Sometimes even during class, so I've gotten detentions more than a few times because of my love for singing and dancing. Which I think is totally unjust and unfair, I am who I am and you can't stop me for being me. (I got into pretty big trouble when I told Professor Snape that, that man has no sense of humor..) So don't be surprised if I just start dancing or singing in the middle of a conversation. Normally I just dance during a conversation, because I learned that singing during a conversation is actually pretty rude and distracting. So to keep myself entertained I dance. Oh! But don't think that it's because your boring! I just have a hard time doing the same thing for a long period of time. And to me a long period of time is...well..five to fifteen minutes. I know that five to fifteen minutes isn't really that long to be doing something but to me it's an eternity. It's a weird and sometimes annoying habit, I know.
Another thing I do a lot is cat imitations, or is the word I'm suppossed to use is impersonations? Hmm, oh well, whatever word I was supposse to use, that's what I do. And I'm pretty good at it if I must say so myself.
I'm a bit of a flirt because I find flirting fun. And anyway I think you should follow the ever popular saying: "If you've got it, flaunt it!" But girls don't be sad if I break your heart, my heart for some reason only belongs to Melanie Parks. Breaking hearts is the only way I will ever intentionally hurt someone and even then I don't mean to hurt your feelings. But one thing for sure is that I will be a gentleman, even when you aren't mine to keep for a while. I hold the door open, carry your books if you ask (well, that's if your class isn't too far away from mine), and if I'm in an extra gentlemen-y mood I'll carry you over a puddle.
I must admit that I am kind of a nerd. But not in the academics area! No, in the academics area I am unfortunately an average student. I can't stand all the homework these teachers give. I'm a nerd because though I do flirt and dance and sing I...I...I...collect action figures! I know, it should be a habit that I should have outgrown by now, but I haven't. They're just so cool! And sometimes when I'm really bored, they're fun to play with. In too many ways to count I'm still just a kid at heart. I like: Melanie Parks, Jane Driscoll, singing, dancing, singing and dancing at the same time, my mum, music videos, girls, any sort of stage, bright lights, the smell of freshly cut grass, anything that plays music, CDs, records, the smell after the rain stops, action figures, and muggle sweets. I dislike: people who judge others just based on thier house, Hollywood Randle, when Melanie and I break up, rained on concerts, people who can't sing in tune, energy drinks, violence used to solve problem/issues, classwork, people who dislike me for blood status, and anybody that makes Melanie cry/upset. Also keep in mind that: I do have a melodic voice, even when I speak. My mum told me this and I still don't know if this is true, but I don't think my mum would lie to me upfront like that on such a ridiculous thing. Next time I'm talking maybe you should listen carefully and see if my voice is indeed melodic and pretty when I'm speaking normally. And if it is, could you tell me? Just so I can be sure, cause I think that'd be pretty dang awesome. Oh and also I've been told by my dormmates that I sing in my sleep, sorry you guys! Relationship: “We’re pretty good friends” and “been checking out” hahaha.
What you think of Skander: “Skander! Oh gosh. He’s just a bubble of never-ending energy – like me, haha! We’re in the same house and year, and who can’t help but be friends with the adorable guy, right? I’ve got to admit, when he starts dancing, it’s hard not to laugh, but also be a bit intimidated; why? I can’t…well, I can’t dance. Haha. But he can sing! That’s something I can totally do with him. But, I know he likes – well, maybe even love – that Slytherin girl, Melanie, (but I don’t label) so…even though…I don’t know? I guess you can say I like him, it’s just that (boy, do I hate complications) I don’t really know how I feel. Okay, okay, long story short, he’s a great jolly guy.”

Plot ideas: is the “pretty good friends” idea, okay? Haha. I guess they can just get into hectic situations that Jane is always caught up in, be it normal Hogwarts chaos or maybe some…jealousy on Jane’s part? Still not sure.

What you think of Skander: “Skander? Oh…him. Just joking! He’s a real fun guy to hang out with. At first, y’know, when I was the third year and he was the firstie it was unbearable to constantly hear his, despite the good quality of it, voice and see him dancing his way everywhere. But you get used to after all these years. I see him with Jane a lot, so that tells me more that he’s an okay guy.”
History, if any: Same house since Will’s third year. At first, Will didn’t like Skander, as all the loudmouths of Gryffindor (haha, Jane and Alice), but later adjusted to him and became friends.
Plot ideas: Because of Jane’s brothers who graduated already, Will sort of became her unofficial third brother. If Jane and Skander are going to have some relations and some conflict with Mel, then I think he’d have to get closer to Skander for those certain reasons. Actually, I wouldn’t be surprised if Skander got something in his mail from anonymous twins because of Will. Other than that, they can become friends, and maybe Skander can teach Will how to dance. xD

What you think of Skander: “Skander is bloody awesome! I totally wish I had a singing voice like his, and I love his talents. He could probably join the band Matt and I have been having in mind lately--we would all freakin’ ROCK! Anywho. Skander is a good friend of mine, and I spend a lot of time with him and Alice and Jane and all the rest of the Gryffindors. He has a lot of energy, and we like to get rid of it together by doing some pretty stupid cool stuff. Plus, we definitely share the same passion for music, and also girls. Heh. Girls is a favorite topic of ours.”
History, if any: Fig met Skander in their first year and immediately took a liking to him, even if Alice hadn’t really been too fond of Skander. Fig and Skander have grown since then as real good friends, and it’s just been a good, open friendship between them, even if there is a slight age difference.
Plot ideas: Heehee, I like that idea. Fig will most definitely need it, since he‘s all ready up for a few heartbreaks and the cause of a few heartbreaks this year. Plus, Skander‘s got a lot of girl troubles ahead of him, too, so yeah, they can have some (frequent) guy-to-guy talks. :3
Name: Adelaide Marie Burkley (Alice!)
Year 5th year

Relationship: in between “We’re just friends” and “We're Pretty Good Friends”
What you think of Skander: “Hahaha, yeah, good ol’ Skandy. He’s such a freak, but in a good way, you know? I love him, like a friend, and even if I thought he was annoying at first, he’s really grown on me. I spend a lot of time with him, classes, in the common room, lunch, so it gives me a lot of time to try and ignore the fact that he’s like an over-excited puppy and to realize that he’s just a really enthusiastic individual who enjoys life while being himself. Wow. I’m real deep right now, aren’t I? Haha.”
History, if any: Alice met Skander before the sorting ceremony, since they were both 1st years at the same time, and had gotten to know each other later in the year since they were both Gryffindors. They shared plenty of classes, but Alice began to think Skander was just really annoying. Once Fig came to Hogwarts, and developed a friendship with Skander, she really started to open her eyes and appreciate Skander and his over-happy, energetic self and be grateful that he’s not a stick in the mud. She often spends her time with him, Jane, Matt, Justin, and the rest of the crazy 5th year Gryffindors in the common room.
Plot ideas: Meh, I don‘t see anything life-altering or amazing between these two. Probably just some Alice-Jane talk about him, because you know how much girls love to talk. :3 But then again, Rain might talk to Alice, and that might make Alice either laugh every time she sees Skander or hate him. Most likely her just laughing.
The Slytherins

Year 4th year

Relationship: On-Off Girlfriend for Almost Four Years Now, In Skander's Mind: You're Definetly That Girl, and Pretty Good Friends
What you think of Skander: "Well as probably you and the rest of the school knows, Skander and I have had an on-off relationship since my first year at Hogwarts. So, his second year at Hogwarts. We, sort of have a...complicated relationship. We both really, really--okay so maybe love--each other, but can't seem to work things out. Skander wants to be my full-time boyfriend, but I don't like the idea of being tied down just yet. So I normally break things off, leaving Skander heartbroken. And it makes me feel absolutely horrible! Whenever I break up with him I go somewhere and cry to myself, wondering how I could be so cruel and break his heart like that. It's something that I just can't explain...I know that I love Skander, but I don't know if it's true love. It's...ugh...complicated, no joke. Skander will always be there for me, will always make me laugh and smile, and always make me love him, for just being him, Skander Gunther McHale. But now, going into fourth year I'm more confused than ever about him and our complicated relationship. I should end this on a good note, huh? Skander is an absolutely wonderful guy, really, I'd be stupid not to realize that."
History, if any: Melanie and Skander have had an on and off relationship ever since Melanie's very first year at Hogwarts. He won her over by making her laugh and making her feel like she was someone special. Though it's almost always Melanie that ends their relationship she can't help but run back to Skander, she knows that he's special, and she thinks that he might "be the one for her," but she doesn't know yet.
Plot ideas: Well Melanie and Skander will eventually get back together, sooner or later, buuut it won't last very long. Because Melanie likes having freedom, the opportunity to flirt with anyone she please, and she's very confused about how she feels right now. She thinks she might just love Skander, but now, she's hopelessly in love with Rain and doesn't know how he feels about her. I think a complicated but nice relationship is all they'll ever have. But just because I'm saying this does not mean Skander won't fall for anyone else. No! He's totally open to dating other girls, okay?

What you think of Skander: “Humph. I barely know the kid, but obviously he has a thing for my Melanie…wait, bloody hell. Did I just say MY Melanie? Sorry. Scratch that. He has a thing for Melanie. And… er… yeah, Melanie’s my friend, and I don’t want that dancing, singing Gryffindor boy to hurt her. And if he does, you can bet my wand that he won’t be singing and dancing anymore for long…Ah, what am I saying? I would never do that to someone I barely know… he’s probably just a nice boy and my jealousy and protectiveness is getting in the way… for my friend. Melanie.”

Plot ideas: Hmmm. I‘m thinking that Rain will hate Skander foreve, especially if Skandy and Melanie get back together. But once he gets with Melanie, I‘m pretty sure they can strike up a great friendship. ((whispers: It wouldn‘t be a very good idea to have someone you hate or barely know as one of your groomsmen at your wedding, right?))

What you think of Skander: "Sander? ...Anders? Skander? It's Skander? His name just screams 'germy gryffindor' right into my heart and I could just kill him for it. He’s developed just a dislike for Skander just because singing and dancing isn’t a very masculine thing for a boy to do (Quincy thinks, that is), and figures he’s just another shallow, boy-band type.

What I think of Melanie: "Ahhh, the beautiful Melanie Nicole Parks. She caught my eye when she was a wee little first year getting sorted on her first day of Hogwarts. Even then i knew she'd be the girl for me. How did I know this you ask? Well it's simple, she had a way of glowing in a room, like the sun, and I could tell she was a kind person because she skipped to the stool when her name was called. How funny is that? I thought it was. Ever since that awesome day that I won her over with my adorable charm we've had an on again and off again relationship. Our relationship is pretty complicated actually. I can tell that we both really like each other--maybe even love each other--but for some reason we can't work certain things out. I'm thinking: 'Hopefully once the sorting is over I can catch up with Melanie, I haven't seen her all summer or all day today either! Why is that?...'
