Before hand I just wanna say what I think rping is. Not that the capin's explination wasn't good but I will add to it a bit. I think rping is when people pretend to be all the things they've always wanted. (and on a gross note that does mean a slave and all that, but thankfully its against the gaia tos ^_^) It's also a thing people do to have fun and take their mind off the real world and forget their troubles if only for a bit. It helps realive stress and can also be a very great source for laughs and just pure entertainment. TAKE THAT T.V.!!!!

Not to bust in on her and all but I got a few little facts that will help all the new people to rping get going. Here are some tips you should follow that will most certianly keep you out of fights. Oh and if the catpain feels like this post is not as helpfull as I think it is she is welcome to delete it ^_^.


1. You should never like just faint or come out of a room, forest, ect. bleeding with no reason. If you want to do something like that include the fight, or accident or what ever happened. People who aren't new don't like to reply to stuff like that and probley won't. When you start out try your best to be literate. No this does not mean spelling every single word right. This means being smart and collected in your rp. Such as the diffrence between the following sentence.
Sentence 1: Bob looked over at the man standing infront of him and threw the book he was holding at the man. "You f**king weakling." he said angerly.
Sentence 2:Bob looked at the man standing before him. He closed the red book he was reading and looked at the man. "Why do you interupt my reading?" He asked the man. The man looked rather odd with Elf ears and a cat tail. His short blond hair boucned a bit as his ear twitched.

Notice the diffrence? Well the first sentence is much more agressive and not as detailed as the second. I've noticed that alot of new rpers like to fight and are way too agressive. A word of advice, don't be. Literate (meaning descriptive) or elite rpers don't like people who just want to fight or are all about beating people up. So I suggest that if you do want to fight to pratice your skills to spar someone and not just say something like, SCREW YOU LETS FIGHT!!, or something like that. They will either ignore it or tell you to fix the post and will ignore it untill you do.

On another note when you go into an rp there will always be what people call "Regulars." no that does not mean they are regluar to rping, it means just what it seems. They are on in the rp almost every day. Now don't go picking fights with these people for several reasons.

Reason 1: They are usually tight with or know the maker of the thread and you will most likely be banned after a very long fight.

Reason 2: They are usually elite rpers and will be backed up by the other regulars so it will be like a gang of people against you. After that they will probley ignore you and you won't be able to rp there.

Reason 3: They are usually right. If they say that you auto-hit their rpc (role play character) or soemthing like that then they are probley right. They usually won't just make something up to get you in trouble. If they do I would suggest going to the maker of the thread as soon as you can and explain the situation.

Now when you do rp, you want to usually do it in 3rd person such as he, she, they, ect. ANd try to do it in like the past present. Like He went up the stairs. Not he did go or something like that. Its really annoying to some people. And no I'm not saying you have to rp like that, if you like doing it in the future or what ever go on with your bad self, these are just tips not guide lines ^_^
