Well, it was just another night for Alex, as he rested under his tent. It wasn't much more than something to keep the rain off his back as he slept, but it was as good as the pilot was going to get with the current situation. His dreams were getting more bizarre each day he stayed in this weird land of Athlaias. Oh, at first they seemed so hazy, and distant, but now some of them seemed so real he could reach out and touch them.

The figure in his dream, the voice that seemed to send a shiver down his spine to the tip of his tail, it was so real, even as it spoke to him.

"The time has come again. Be careful."

The pilot opened his eyes, sitting up quickly. He panted a bit as his eyes looked around the dimness that was the first hints of sunlight changing the sky's dark blackness to deep purples. It must have been early, just before sunrise, Alex figured, as he tried to calm himself down.

Some of the dew clung to the tips of his feathers that were on his ears, and his coat laid balled up, used to rest his head that night. Last night's fire was still able to be scented on the wind, although it had long since burned out.

Alex sighed and slowly moved to crawl out from under his tent. He knew he wasn't going to be able to get to sleep again, before the sun was in his eyes, so he dragged himself and his lazy tail out. Maybe he was just worried that the dream was real. But dreams predicting the future, that wasn't possible. It was just a bad dream, one that would be forgotten by noon, or thats what he assumed, as he rose.

Unlike Alex who had just woken up, Damian had been awake for some time now, Hunting. Or rather in this case it was fishing, but to Damian's predatory mind, they were one in the same. He had gone down to the river, to lay in the water in wait for fish much like a crocodile until a large one swam by that was worth catching, then snatch it with his claws and teeth.

Damian had caught three large fish that way, and was back after cleaning the fish, setting them over a fire to smoke them. The Hybrid saw that Alex was awake, and nodded hello.

~Morning Alex....~

It wasn't much for the pilot to do but to wave his taloned hand vaguely in the direction of Damian. Each step he took kicking up some loose leaves, although only the astute might notice that there was a slight blowing of leaves with each step that was more like a breeze pushing them away. Alex, though, was too tired to notice.

He muttered something about 'good morning' or maybe it was something in Chinese. Either way, the pilot wasn't happy to be up so early, and made his way over towards Damian and the smell of a new fire and cooking fish.

"Uhhhh...", he muttered to himself. Yup, just another wonderful morning in Athlaias. He was going to ask Damian if it would be possible to get him to help find the Witch, or at the least find out if she wandered off a lot, but those questions were pushed aside as he let out another "uuuuhhhggghhh", this one of pain.

What might look like just Alex looking like he was in pain, grabbing his bare neck and shoulders, was actually more like dozens upon dozens of little spears being pushed out of his skin, new feathers to be formed as he changed. The sudden influx of pain that rushed through him all at once snapped him to a more awakened state, although one that left him falling to the ground, crying out as the feathers started to push through his skin.

Damian was hardly paying attention to Alex as he took care of the fish, letting the flame burn out on the fire as he added some wet woodchips to the hot embers to encourage it to smoke the meat. It wasn't until Alex had fallen to the ground that Damian realized Alex was in trouble.

the hybrid moved quickly to Alex's side, and could see what was happening as the feather-quills pushed out from the pilot's neck. There was very little Damian could do, and Alex would have to suffer though his changes just like he, Cricket and Jade had.

Damian went and found a young sapling tree, as thick as one's thumb, and cut it into a foot long length, peeling the bark from the soft green under-layer before bringing the stick back to Alex.

~Bite down on this, but don't fight the changes, it will be over much quicker if you don't~

Alex had almost forgotten how painful changing was, way back when he first changed, back when he was normal. The pilot gasped hard as his body shifted in spots that were completely unnatural. The scales upon his hands crept up his arms, as well as his hands altering shape. He let out a cry of pain as his taloned fingers dug at the soft grass and dirt, each breath of his fast and short.

He looked up at Damian as he returned with a stick and words to not fight the changes. Not fight? That was easier said than done when your body was changing against your will. But he opened his mouth and bit down on the stick all the same, only to feel his teeth falling out, being replaced by a hard single edge, his face pushing out somewhat into a more beaklike shape.

Well, at least he could bite down with that new beak, even if it was a new level of pain he'd not experienced before. His tail thrashed behind him, even as he held his eyes closed. A few tears rolled from his eyes as he lay there, changing.

Damian watched Alex as the changes progressed further, the croc-wolf keeping his distance and out of Alex's way. If they were anywhere close to Gerta's, He would have gotten from her some pain-killing powder she made from tree bark or some other plants. But there really wasn't much sense to rush off and get it now, Alex would be finished changing before Damian could return.

It could wait, if Alex still needed it later, Damian might go get it, but for now, Alex would have to wait for any relief from his painful changes.

Oh, yeah, the pilot was probably going to have no problem sleeping after this, or at least staying in one place. His hands weren't much in the way of a true hand shape now, his taloned digits digging into the warm earth. The sense of any sort of relief from the pain was minute, although at least it seemed to make the awkward changes in his talons a bit easier to deal, but all new senses of pain erupted, as his legs shifted, becoming thicker with fur, stronger, his tail growing out as well.

His beak stayed tight against the stick as his legs and feet bent at weird angles. His clawed toes splayed out, digging grooves into the grass. But alas, the worst was coming for last. Not one, but two growths formed on his shoulder blades. Alex let out a whimpering squawk from his beak, as the two lumps pushed and distorted his body, muscles altering throughout his torso to accept the new found wings that were forming there.

As Alex bit down hard on the stick and muttered pained whimpers, a gust of wind blew across the clearing, causing the fire still cooking the fish to dance about the fire pit, rustling the leaves of the trees.

As Alex's changes continued, Damian found himself wondering what exactly was the former pilot changing into. When the featherless lumps pushed free of Alex's back, growing into diminutive wings, they Hybrid thought he had at least a small idea of what Alex might eventually become.

Damian got up as he felt the gust of wind, but ignored it for now as he went to get a couple wooden bowls. into one bowl he put some fish meat into, the gust of wind helped cook the fish faster, and the meat was easily pulled from the bones. the other bowl damian filled with cool water, bringing both over to set close by Alex's side.

~here, eat and drink this, you'll need it to gain your strength back~

Alex's body felt like it was on fire, or parts of it did. His short winglets twitched on his back as new muscles twitched from their growth. The half human looked up at Damian as he lay on the ground, his body in a haze of pain that felt like he'd run the Bostom Marathon twice, and then got hit by a bus. He didn't want to know what had happened to him. Each time he moved a bit, some sensation seemed to bring his realization that part of the pain was from new growths.

The smell of the meat though was more than enough to make him lift his head up, and reaching over with his deformed hand, pulled the bowl of meat in close to his head. He didn't want to move much. Moving hurt. And he was tired.

He nodded some to Damian's suggestion and muttered back "thanks" to him, before he leaned down to bite at a piece of fish and without thinking about it, bit a piece off and swallowed it. Well, so much for that chewing thing that 'mammals' had to deal with. Nope, Alex hadn't even noticed he hadn't chewed the piece of food with his beak before he took another bite out of the fish, swallowing it as well. Yup, looked like a few instincts were inside his head.

At least he didn't seem to be quite in as much pain as the initial changes.

Damian could see Alex was still in a large amount of pain, but was glad that the Griffin-Pilot was at least able to eat something.

~Alex, I'll go to get something from Gerta's to help with the pain, I'll be back soon~

the hybrid didn't wait to hear any objection from Alex as he jogged off into the forest in the direction of Gerta's cottage. Damian wasn't worried about anything going and bothering Alex while he was away, many animals tended to avoid his cottage, and could sense that a predator lived there, so Alex was safe for now.

when Damian arrived at Gerta's cottage, he could smell that something was different. Gerta's scent was faint, and Damian also detected Julia's, but there was another there that the Hybrid couldn't place, a stranger.

~Who's there?~ Damian said 'aloud', crouching low as he moved closer to the cottage.

Jamie faithful new pet and lead him successfully back to the hut through the unfamiliar terrain. Jamie was now sitting down on Getra's bed cross legged, the dogs head resting in his lap, as it took a well deserved nap. he had pulled back all the curtains to let the sunlight of the afternoon stream in. He was fidgeting about with his flute and occasionally scratching at the back of his ears, lost in thought over the music he was hearing. He couldn't help but feel strangely guilty that he hadn't used it since he was giving it before he ended up here.

He would play it, if it weren't for the dog sleeping partly on him. "Maybe later" his clam train of though was quickly interrupted by an unfamiliar voice form outside. He jumped in his place, waking up the wolfhound in the process. Somehow, answering didn't seemed like a good idea.

Damian knew that someone was inside, and also could sense that Adam the wolfhound was there. So if the dog was there and things seemed to be calm....there couldn't be much of a threat there, Adam could be a dumb dog, but still could tell if a stranger was a good or bad person.

The hybrid walked up to the hut's door, and gave it a good rap.

~Whoever is inside, make yourself known, because I will be coming in~
Damian said, waiting to see what response he might get

Jamie assumed a typical scared pose of wrapping his arms around his knees. Sudden fear had started to induce Jamie's slowly escalating change. Small amounts of fur prickled it's way along his slowly growing ears. He reached for his straw hat and placed it one his equally grown bumps, just in case the stranger outside wasn't aware of people like him.

Adam however headed towards the door and the familiar scent beyond it recognizing the freind. Jamie wondered, if he liked the person outside, maybe there wasn't much to fear.

"P-please...leave me a-alone..." He half squeaked.

Damian waited outside as he heard Jamie's nervous reply. What was a young kid doing in Gerta's hut? Damian thought to himself as he sighed, forcing his tongue back into his mouth. the Croc-wolf also sensed that something wasn't quite alright.

~Sorry, But I can't, I'm here to get something~ Damian explained as he opened the hut door, keeping a hand out in front of him to keep the large wolfhound from jumping up at him as Adam gave a happy bark at seeing Damian.

Slowly, Damian moved inside, looking around until he spotted Jamie
~Don't worry, I'm not a werewolf and I don't hurt young kids so you're safe. You know where Gerta is, and what's your name?~ Damian asked, studying Jamie, was he one of the Changed as well?

Telling Jamie that he wasn't a werewolf was hardly comforting, that's what a werewolf probably would say. That and Jamie already thought he was turning in a demon, the last thing he needed was to be a werewolf too. But, the dog was happy, but then again, he might be thinking that the werewolf was a dog too.

Jamie maintained his position with his arms round his legs, sat up on the bed. he scratched along his thighs are fur started pushign it's way through his thighs skin with a prickly sensation.

"N-no...J-Jamie..." He answered, sipping anything apart from what was needed. "W-what do you w-want?" he stuttered, not looking at him, but at his oddly shaped toes.
