This is a training grounds used by shinobi to learn new things and test them out. It's also where jounin test there genin to see if they are ready.

Arashi stood in awe as many older shinobi worked out and practiced their skills. "I want to do that, but I'm sure I'll just be overlooked." The young academy student let out a sigh, before ambling towards a nearby training dummy. He began to go through the basic motions of taijutsu, starting with the Strong Fist style, attempting to maneuver through the other styles without leaving himself open.

Rya walked over to see what was going on. "Hmm... Training..." She walked over to a practice dummy and inspected it. "No fire on this one... Kunai however..." She leapt backwards and threw two kunai at the dummy, lodging them firmly into the chest and head. "Hmm... Not so tough on a stationary target..."

Arashi glanced over to the female, inspecting her form. He was only a student, but seemed to take training very seriously. The student played back everything his eyes seemed to take in. With slight hesitation he ambled towards the kunoichi, speaking in a kind but nervous voice. "Excuse me miss, can you spar with me?"

Rya looked at the speaker with surprise. She walked over to the dummy and wrenched out the two kunai. She turned back to the speaker and smiled. "Sure."

Arashi began to grin, "I am Arashi Tetsude. I'm eleven and in the Academy, but please don't take me lightly." He slid into a strange stance, keeping his left arm back; allowing his right to dominate.

Rya continued to smile. "I'm Rya. I'm sixteen. I'll try to put up a good fight." She didn't recognize the stance but responded by stepping into her own fighting stance. She crouched low and had both fists up.

Arashi nodded lightly, making the first move. He ran forward, pulling his right fist back and throwing it towards her left cheek. He knew that it would be easier to allow his opponent to underestimate him, already preparing for a defensive move of his own.

Rya spun, lightly sliding the fist past her face. She aimed a chop at the back of Arashi's neck.

Arashi quickly tucked and rolled, rolling out of arm distance from his opponent. He quickly planted his metal arm into the ground, launching himself into the air; placing three shurikens between his fingers. When he began his descent towards the ground he threw all three shurikens in her relative direction.

Rya leapt back to avoid two of the shurikan, one grazed her forearm. "Ow." She pulled out two kunai and threw them at her opponent.

As soon as Arashi landed he took a few quick steps back, deflecting one of the kunai with his metal arm, the other grazing his left leg. "Hmph..." Arashi slid back into stance, clearly going on the defensive.

Rya took out three shurikan. "You're very good. But I think you're going easy on me." She threw the shurikan and rushed forward, trying to punch Arashi.

Arashi shook his head in disagreement, bringing his right forearm to intercept her punch. The young ninja quickly planted his foot and pivoted around, bringing his left elbow towards her head.

Rya didn't notice the elbow until it hit her. "Ow!" She rolled under Arashi and rubbed her head. "Ow... You have a hard elbow." She turned and pulled a Kunai out. She held it like a dagger and rushed forward.
