• Rules •

1. Guild Rules apply here, too.
2. Outsiders may not have preexisting relationships with each other.
3. Rule 2 runs on a first-come, first-serve basis. If someone makes a profile for a character that knows someone you wanted to use, you'll just have to pick a new character.
4. Outsiders may be characters from other roleplays, or they can be entirely original.
5. Outsiders may have no preexisting knowledge of Genesis or anything to do with it. If they do, they will be eaten on the spot by a passing dragon.
6. If you wish for a native to posess one of the objects, ask me about it first. I may have other plans for it.
7. Natives may not have uncommon knowledge of items unless a specific reason why is stated in their profile. Otherwise, they will be eaten on the spot by a passing dragon.
8. Please think your character choice through for outsiders. No Mary-Sues, and it would be nice if they were from more or less the same time period. Also, make sure that the world they are in would allow for them to up and leave.
9. No gods/goddesses/demigods/etc.
10. Please don't pick idiots or incompotent prissies for your outsider. Make them at least somewhat suitable for the purpose.
11. Oh, by the way, only up to two outsiders per person.
12. If your profile makes it clear you didn't read the rules, you only get to make one. If you already made two, and you break a rule, one of the two will be chosen by me and eaten on the spot by a passing dragon.
13. Don't make them immune to sernt bites or anything like that. If they have never been exposed to something, they cannot be immune to it.
14. Please make natives at least somewhat relevant to the plot.
15. I reserve the right to have your character eaten on the spot by a passing dragon.

• Storyline •

Genesis. It's is Greek for "birth" or "origin". It is the beginning.
They say that when you step through one door you open a million others. That is not the case here. None of the doors in this world are open, and you cannot go home until one is.
So you need a key.

The World of Genesis exists at the center of them all. There are many 'doors' from other worlds that can send anyone to Genesis. Unfortunately, the 'doors' back require one of the four legendary items of this world. When the outsiders are dropped off into this new land, they have no idea what to do. They must travel across the continent and find all four objects to get all of them home.

However, will they be able to make it that far? With obstacles around every corner, the outsiders could be eaten, killed, or even married! Plus there is no guarantee all of the items are even in Genesis...

• Objects •

Please note that the information stated here is not common knowledge to the natives of Genesis. The majority of it is unknown, or only rumored.

The four objects were created by the four founders of the world of Genesis, overseen by Krishna. As each finished his or her object, they sacrificed their lives and gave up their souls to the tool. They knew that there were countless doorways to their world, and wanted people to be able to escape if they wanted to.

The Sword
Chaos Mystique - Mystic Chaos

The first one of the four objects to be created, the sword is able to cut through anything, as well as being able to create a inter-dimensional hole that may send the user home.
Users of this object must have, intentionally or not, caused the death of another person through their own actions, and have knowledge of causing the death.
Chaos Mystique is the only object that can change forms. It shifts with the user, based on many factors: the user's personality, how many people they have killed, whether or not they regret it, the act for which it is being used, and other factors that are unknown. This feature was most likely created to make the sword more difficult to track down; with the average person, it takes the form of a simple dagger. Its original, and true, form (a sword) only appears in the hands of Hari/Krishna. However, no matter what form it is in, it can still be used just the same.
The original form (and only in the original form) of Chaos Mystique has a mental connection to the user (Hari) and can sense the ownership of the other objects. It cannot, however, detect their exact location but Hari does not care about the locations of these people most of the time. Also, the Chaos Mystique can be called back to Krishna's side which prevents the sword from being stolen but because of Hari's personality, he tends to lend the sword to those able to use it.
The creator of the sword was the most famous founder of Genesis. He was a kind man with a good sense of justice, and set up the first government of the world. He founded the cities of Parinene and Mercunias (Parinene was originally the capital city), but spent a lot of time in Itacia to be with his love. His first government was created to overlook his cities while he was away. He considered the second male founder to be his best friend, and was unaware of the jealously the other man bore toward him. Realizing what was going on with their world, he was the first to suggest placing their souls in the objects to guide outsiders home, and the first to sacrifice himself. As all four items--and in turn, all four spirits--have never been in the same place at once, the soul of the original founder does not know of the events that occurred after his death.

The Mirror
Lune de Mercure - Quicksilver Moon

The mirror was the second object to be made. It is able to teleport the user anywhere, and allows him or her to spy upon anyone within Genesis, so long as they know where they want to go or look. It appears to be like a normal mirror, but it can be compacted to almost any size, and it very easily disguised.
The woman who created the mirror was they youngest of the four founders, and in love with the first--the man who created the sword. She founded Itacia and ruled over the island that outsiders arrive at. At first, she did not want them to sacrifice their lives. However, when her love forged Chaos Mystique and gave his life before any of them, she became determined to be as brave as the man she loved in order to save their world. A few days before she finished the mirror, the second male founder--whose love for her was unrequited--tried to rape her when she refused to return his love. He was stopped by the flute-maker and punished by Krishna, but her resolve had only been strengthened. She finished the mirror and gave her life, hoping that her spirit would be with her love's forever.
Because of the closeness of the mirror- and sword-makers, the mirror is always able to find the sword, but is unable to tell the user its specific location--he or she must figure that out themselves. Also, while it can find other objects, it cannot teleport the user to the same place that the object is.
The mirror-maker was one of the more down-to-earth founders, and therefore the rules for use of the mirror are not so strict. Almost anybody can use it, as long as they know what they want from it. Due to her dying feelings toward the fourth founder, rapists and murderers are forbidden from using Lune de Mercure (those who have killed in self-defense don't count, only those who killed innocents).

The Flute
Chanson des Anges - Song of the Angels

The third object to be made, the woman who created the flute was an extremely religious woman who made an oath of celibacy when she met Krishna in order to dedicate the rest of her life to him. She became good friends with the other founders, and was said to found the city of Esterspring. There is also a legend that she was pregnant when she first came to Genesis, and that her daughter became the first priestess and Krishna's lover. The founder more or less set up the temple system throughout Genesis, and it has changed very little from her original plans.
The flute is capable of mind control to a certain extent--the user can make somebody do things they would not do under normal circumstances, but they cannot make the person do something they are physically incapable of doing, and they cannot cause death through the mind control. As with the other items, the flute can open portals to other worlds. However, the flute is not allowed to leave Genesis, and will only take the user to their own world for this reason. Also, because of this, the user is able to use it on behalf of someone else, but they must maintain physical contact with that person and that person only for the duration of the song. In addition to this, when one leaves Genesis through the flute, one may never return.
The main requirement for being able to use Chanson des Anges is the ability to actually play the flute. One wrong note could cause the flute to completely fail. The flute has two songs: one for mind control, one for travel. Neither has ever been recorded, for fear of it being stolen and used. It is kept in the temple in Esterspring, and students are constantly being taught how to play the song from the memory of their teachers. They are, under penalty of death, sworn to never speak of the flute or its song outside of their classroom. It is, of course, able to play other songs, but in that case it just plays like an exceptional-sounding flute. The pace and length of the flute's song changes with every user, but it has been about ten minutes long at the most thus far.
Only those with a good heart are able to use the flute to its fullest extent, which is why children are often the ones trained to play its song. If the user commits a bad deed whilst using the flute, it can be overlooked if the end justifies the means, or if they are doing what they think is right.

The Key
Ouvrez le Coeur - Open Heart

A favorite of thieves, Ouvrez le Coeur was the final of the four objects to be created, and can open any lock in any world. It can also create 'doors' in space, allowing the user to leave Genesis.
One major drawback to the key is the fact that if it gets lost, it automatically teleports itself to a new hiding place within Genesis--it has never hidden in the same place twice. Therefore, if somebody loses the key in another world, they will be unable to return to Genesis unless another person comes to get them. Another is the fact that the key cannot be used by someone who has used one of the other three objects.
The spirit that resides within the key was the second male founder of Genesis, and while he is famous, he never got the same recognition as the first. He founded the cities of Atlilia and Espona, being the one of the four who least feared the mountains. He was in love with the woman who made the mirror, but she loved the sword-maker. His love for her turned to scorn when she still rejected him after her love had given his life. When he tried to take her against her will, he was stopped by the flute-maker, who reported him to Krishna. As a result, his sacrifice for the key became a punishment rather than a sacrifice. Despite his feelings toward the other founders, he did in fact care for the world of Genesis, and was the one who traveled the most.
The key is probably the trickiest of the items when it comes to who can use it. Because the creator holds a grudge against Krishna, neither Hari nor anyone of his bloodline is capable of using it (that includes any b*****d children, and not just those in the royal family, but not those who married into the family and have none of Krishna's blood). There seems to have been a pattern of thieves being able to use the key, and the key has been lost almost every single time. Overly-religious people and people who are in love have also had difficulties using the key. In short, almost anyone who resembles one of the other three founders will not easily be able to use the fourth object.
