To whomever this apartment is assigned, This is your own place. Do with it as you wish, but you must stick to the general floorplan [as exemplified by the pics in the "About the Complex" sticky]. You may have guests over and you may move in with other residents. Keep in mind, however, that every apartment on the first and second floors has only one bedroom. The third floor contains apartments with two bedrooms. You may move to the third floor at any time [but either DeirdreTonbo or Alexis D must first be notified]. Again, feel free to personalize your apartment and alter it as you see fit. Have fun!
~Alex

This time, when Dante parked her motorcycle, she parked it under the covering in the spot specifically marked for her apartment. That was nice, and she'd already made sure there was a camera that had it inside it's view.
Not too far behind her was a moving truck, pulling up as close to the building as it could manage with carports and other vehicles that might have been parked nearby. The slender girl didn't have to do much, other than direct the general area that she wanted the bigger peices of furniture (not that there were many) and which room the labelled boxes went into.
It took barely a half an hour and the truck was gone, and Dante was left smiling happily into the living room of her new apartment. The selling point that had truly made her want this place? The dining area and it's hardwood floors. They were perfect.
The girl walked into the apartment fully, putting her helmet atop a box where it sat against the wall and out of the way. She'd instructed the movers to leave the wooden floor bare, and now she stood in the middle of it. Casting off her shoes and tossing them onto the carpet, she easily slid into form. For just a moment she forgot everything. The open door, that she could barely afford food after paying for the moving truck, that she had to be up in the morning to teach a class. It was all pushed to the back of her mind. For just a moment she was dancing, her whole mind attuned to her body and to the music only she could hear.

Spinning the new copy of her key about on her finger, Dante was quite happy to let herself into her apartment finally. Mentally she thanked Alex, the manager, that she'd been able to get the copy. Glancing over to the side, the slender girl smiled at someone locking their door behind them, a gentle curve of full lips and sparkle of stunningly blue eyes.
Long, pale white-blonde hair fell down her back in soft waves that said it had been in a braid not too long ago. It was the sort of pale hair that girls often went through box after box of hair dye trying to emulate, only to come off as a bad imitation of the color. The same for her eyes, others might buy contacts, but they could not even hope to come close to the vibrant blue. Even the sky might have been jealous of those eyes.
Wearing a pair of khaki courderoys and a peasant blouse, she opened the door and stepped into the apartment, smiling and throwing the plastic bag that had been looped over one arm onto the floor. "Feels good to be home."

Running a hand through sleek blonde hair, Dante rolled from her bed and got to her feet. Cold this morning. Though she'd slept in only a pair of boxers and a tanktop, the dancer reached down and picked up a blanket to wrap around her shoulders as she shuffled into her morning routine.
Coffee pot on. Check.
Look to see if food for breakfast had appeared in fridge. (No.) Check.
Turn on shower to warm up. Check.
Find something acceptable for work. Check.
Leaving the blanket behind in the bedroom, Dante hurried from bedroom to bathroom, dropped her clothes on the floor, and hopped into the hot shower. With a shriek, the girl hopped right back out, glaring at the stream of cold water. It should have been hot. Instead the water felt as though it was barely above freezing. Shivering now, she waited with her arms crossed over her chest, hoping the water would heat up soon.
When it did not, Dante pulled a flannel bathrobe on over herself, walking to her kitchen to investigate the pipes beneath the sink for signs they might have frozen (nothing) and then walked to the closet to check the hot water heater. The carpet in the closet was soaking wet.
"Damn it!" At least she knew where the problem was now.
Still trying to warm up from the cold water, Dante went to her kitchen and looked up the number for the apartment's handyperson. Though it was winter, she was trying to manage with the heat as low as possible, had to save on the electric bill somehow. That number should be here somewhere...
As soon as she found it, the girl dialed quickly, hoping it wasn't too early.

Saria tried knocking on 106 first, but there was no response - the apartment seemed to be empty - so she tried 103 next. She walked up to the door, took a deep breath and knocked.

Still holding the phone on her shoulder, Dante wrapped the robe around herself tighter and walked to the door. Opening it up, she blinked stupidly at the person on the other side.
As she had jsut stepped out of the shower, the robe clung to her damp skin, showing an alnost dangerous amount of curve on her hip and along her stomach. White-blonde hair clung to her neck and hung wet down her back, vivid blue eyes wide as she stared at her visitor.
"Oh! I um.. Sorry. I uh...." Her brain froze up, and she fumbled for words. "My uh... hot water tank is spewing, I was... trying to call the fixit lady. Um... you're not... her are you?" It now occurred to Dante that she was still on the phone with Makoto, and her cheeks turned pink, rather fetching in a natural way.
"Um... Hi? I'm Dante." Holding the phone in one hand, the girl held out her other toward her visitor, trying to look as natural as she could considering the situation.

"Wow, uh, something needs fixing here?" Saria said, dumbly, looking Dante up and down. Her brain often took a few moments to change gears. She had certainly not been in the right frame of mind to handle this situation.
"I mean," she closed her eyes and shook her head, shake her faulty gearing into place, "Right. Hot water tank. Of course."
"That is to say," she corrected herself, carefully, then extened a hand, "My name is Saria. And no, I'm not the fixit lady. Well, I mean," she chuckled and shrugged, and continued proudly, "Maybe they call me that in some circles........."
She realized that she was rambling before she got to far, and brought herself back on track, "I just moved in next door and wanted to say hi. I'm sorry if I stopped by at a bad time."
"Um, hey," she added, hesitantly, "I probably shouldn't fix it, because some of these places are a little touchy about residents doing their own repairs. You know, lawsuit fears and all. But, I can at least stop it from spewing so that things don't get any worse. I'd be shutting off your hot water completely, though, until the super can get in her to fix it for real. It's up you."

"Oh hold on-" Dante held up a hand. "One o three. Okay, I'll do that. Thank you so much." Dante dragged her attention back to the phone in her hand, then clicked it off once they were done
"Okay, she says to turn off the spiggotty thing on the wall in there? I think?" Mechanically, the girl was hopeless. "Er... if it's okay, I'm gonna throw on some clothes. Um... I didn't quite get your name."
Without really giving Saria a chance to step out of the doorway, she ushered her into the apartment and closed the door behind her.

"If it's ok to throw on some clothes?" Saria repeated dumbly, "Weeeeeeeeell......................." she stood and thought for a moment, her brow furrowed in concentration, "...................................." she moved her hands like a balance scale, weighing the choices, "................................." she counted off items to consider on her fingers, ".................................." she moved her finger in midair as if she were writing equations on a blackboard "............................." she took her calculator out of her pocket and punched some numbers in, "............................" she licked her finger and held it up to sample the wind, "..............................." she pulled a coin out of her pocket and flipped it, ".........................." finally she sighed, "............. oh, alright. It's ok."
"Oh," she added, almost as an afterthought, "Sorry, the name's Saria Mithril. And, don't you worry, Miss, I'm a professional," she moved to hook her thumbs proudly into her suspenders, before she remembered that she had never worn suspenders in her life and decided to hook them in her belt instead, "This is touchy, dangerous work, but I've been trained to handle situations exactly like this. We've lost a lot of good people to this kind of job," she bit her lip and looked up, squeezing her eyes shut and repeated in a broken voice, "............ good, good people......... good friends........." she snorted long and deeply, as if she were trying to pull back tears and bring herself under control, "...... but we're not gonna lose anyone today. No heroes! I'm going to go in there, and I'm going to do what needs to be done, and, dammit, I'm going to live to see tomorrow!"
She moved towards the valve and turned around, waiting for Dante to leave so that she wouldn't see that all that had to be done was a simple turn of a faucet. "You'd best take cover, Miss," she said hoarsely, "This is no place for civilians."

For a moment Dante was uncertain, a bemused smiled on her lips as she watched Saria ramble on. As the continued though, she firmly decided that she liked the wierd girl, and left her to the delicate operation of turning a spiggot.
Walking back to her bedroom she closed the door behind her and began to hunt up something to wear instead of just her bathrobe. Within a shortish length of time, Dante was wearing a pair of jeans, a striped buttonup shirt over a dark blue tanktop and her feet were left bare. From her laundry basket, she dragged all the slightly used yet now dry towels out from beneath her clothing, carrying the heap of them into the hallway and starting to sop up the water with them.
"Any survivors?"

Saria smiled widely, an unguarded smile, like a child's. She knew she was a little off, and she was accustomed to being treated like a lunatic by people she just met. It was so rare to find someone that just accepted her, and indeed, gave as good as she got.
"Not amongst the enemy," she said solemnly, dropping to her knees to help sop up the water, "But our losses were light. The day is won!"
She chuckled, then added, "Say, I just moved in. This kind of thing doesn't happen often, does it? I mean, I shouldn't be expecting to take my baths in the hallway regularly, should I? You know, unless I wanted to, of course."

"No, I think it's pretty safe. Everyone who runs this place is nice." A soft coloration on her cheeks as she too knelt and began soaking as much water as she could manage into the towels. They were all various shades of blue, matching one another but not the same between more than two of them. "Besides, Makoto's on her way over to fix the thing. I suspect it has to do with the snow and the cold."
A smile and she picked up the dripping towels dumping them all into the tub without hesitation.

"I haven't met Makoto yet," Saria said, getting up and looking down at the wet spots on her knees, "Nice. I've met Quinn, but no one else yet, besides you, of course."
She looked at the hot water tank, analyzing it critically. It did look alright to her, at least on the outside. "That's good, then, I can't even imagine how cranky I'd be if I couldn't get a hot shower or bath. Hey, if Makoto doesn't get it done by tomorrow, feel free to borrow my bathroom," she shrugged, "It's no problem, although there's not much in there yet because I'm just moving in. You might have to bring your own towels and stuff."

"Towels I've got." Dante laughed softly, glancing into the bathroom. "Once I do laundry that is. I've got some clean ones though. If it takes too long I might just take you up on that offer." Tucking a bit of blonde hair behind her ear, the dancer gave the waterheater one last malevolent look and then turned her attention back to Saria. "Well, the least I can do for you for stopping the overflow is offer you a drink. I don't have any soda, but I've got plenty of tea?"
Turning, Dante lead the way from her hallway to the kitchen, opening up the fridge to look inside. "Some.. iced green tea, just the cheap bagged stuff. Normal iced tea, and you can look at the teabags in that cupboard over there if you want something hot."
