Gargoyles: At one point, Goliath's clan believed themselves to be the last remaining gargoyles in the world. Goliath's "world tour" taught him otherwise. In truth, many gargoyles still exist around the globe. Some of them live with large and small clans. Some clans still keep alive the tradition of defending humans. Most gargoyles in the modern day world, however, have had to make do living on their own, hiding themselves away from mankind while at the same time being forced to abandon the lifestyle of a gargoyle and adopting the ways of the modern world.

Despite there being far more gargoyles then Goliath could ever have imagined, the fact remains that theirs is an endangered race, and if peace cannot be found between them and mankind, then there will always be the immediate threat of being wiped from existence. Goliath seeks to prevent this from happening with the help of his former enemy David Xanatos. Word has spread around the world that David Xanatos of New York city, is using his riches to help Goliath's clan harbor gargoyles and fight for their equality. Gargoyles world-wide have begun to travel to join this New York clan, either to help in the cause or simply to find a safe haven.

There are currently only six official clans in the world known to Goliath aside form his own.

Manhattan Clan: Goliath's clan. It is currently growing in capacity with gargoyles form all corners of the Earth. It's core members though, including Goliath, are of Scottish gargoyle type.

Labyrinth Clan: Technically not a gargoyle clan. It is run by Talon and made up of the very few mutates that inhabit New York. They live underground alonside homeless humans in a makeshift, but seemingly peaceful society.

Avalon Clan: The children of Goliath's old clan. They inhabit the island of Avalon alongside Oberon's Children. Naturally, this clan is composed entirely of Scottish type gargoyles.

London Clan: Griff's clan. Although it had diminished to only three gargoyles at a point, Goliath's influence has inspired Griff to rebuild it. It is currently growing, steadily gaining new members. The London Clan is naturally composed of English type gargoyles. They tend to resemble different types of animals from lions to pigs.

Ishimura Clan: Perhaps an even larger clan then Goliath's. This clan lives with and protects the humans in the urban, yet sacluded village of Ishimura. Naturally, this clan is composed of Japanese type gargoyles. It is notable that gargoyles of Japan sometimes have fewer digits on their hands or talons.

Mayan Clan: A small, but ancient clan that lives within a pyramid deep in a forest of Guatemala. As of late, they have been trying to save the existance of many rare plants in their forest, by spreading them across the world. This clan is also gifted with special pendants that keep them from turning to stone during the day. Some Central American and possibly Southern American type gargoyles have uniquely shaped reptilian-like jaws and eyes as well as snake-like tails instead of legs.

Oberon Descendants: ((The main reason I included this new "race" and the group known as the "Sable Swords" in this RP is so that the gargoyles would have a human enemy that could threaten them on a direct physcial level, as opposed to the Quarrymen who pose a bigger threat of spreading prejudice against gargoyles.

This also gives RPers a chance to create human characters who have the power to aid the gargoyles in more direct ways as well.))

A small percentage of the human population of the world can fit into this category. They are humans who have inherited blood from Oberon's Children through their lineage. Most commonly this is the result of a Child of Oberon producing an offspring with an Oberon Descendant's ancestor. As such, the effects of having Oberon Child blood in a human's lineage can skip several generations.

Basically an Oberon Descendant is a human gifted with unique mystical capabilities as well as great skill in traditional magic. Due to them being mostly human, Oberon Descendants are very very rarely ever as powerful as a true Child of Avalon. The powers of Oberon Descendants vary. Oberon Descendants fit into three sub categories.

Active: Those who are fully aware of and or in control of their powers. They may choose to use or not use them.

Exposed: Those who's powers are unstable or beyond their control. OR those who's physical bodies look inhuman to any degree. These Oberon Descendants are unable to ignore or hide their powers. Naturally, this creates many problems for them.

Dorment: Those who need to meet certain conditions before their powers are usable. Many of these Oberon Descendants can end up living their entire life, completely unaware of what they are.

Sable Swords: A shady organization with a mysterious past. It's unkown when it was founded or by who. They are a group of assassines composed entirely of Oberon Descendants, using their mystical powers to effectively carry out missions and hits that no normal human would be able to. Although joining this group would appear to be optional, they have been known to track down other Oberon Descents and convince them to join. In most cases, these are Oberon Descents who have no knowledge of what they are and are fearful of what will become of them if the world was to find out about their unique gifts. As such, Oberon Descents who are sought out to be recruited into the Sable Swords, usually jump at the opportunity if only to be with their own kind and learn more about their own nature.

As organizations go, the Sable Swords does not appear to be incredibly bonded. There is no main base or headquarters. No rankings aside from the core leader. Members are free to go on about their own lives and affairs as long as they keep in close residential distance of eachother. The only official bond that seems to connect members of the Sable Swords is a pendant given to each of them.
