I already asked for suggested resources in the general chat subforum; so I thought it might be a good idea to have a master list of resources we've found that were helpful. Since I just finished a research paper on self-injury, I've got quite a few sources to share. Please come share your own reccommendations!
Websites:
http://www.focusas.com/SelfInjury.html (This is the one Shachan reccommended to me); It contains links to some very good sites that I will not copy here because I'm lazy and you can find them on this site.
http://www.twloha.com Hmm... I wonder why this sounds familiar? wink
http://www.recoveryourlife.com This is a self-help and networking site primarily for self-injurers; a cuople of my self-injuring friends have found it helpful.
Books:
A Bright Red Scream by Marilee Strong
Cutting: self-mutilation and the language of pain by Steven Levenkron
Bodies Under Seige by Armando Favazza (this is one of the earlier works and Favazza is one of the more quoted researchers in the field of self-injury, so while I didn't get my hands on this book, it's probably very useful).
