Words
A thought.
An expression.
A simple exchange.
It's amazing how much a word can affect people. Most of us go through life without even realizing how much of an impact our words have on people. The most insignificant and least thought out sentence to us can have an earthshaking and thought provoking meaning to others. I really think this is something that merits further thought...not just from me, but from everyone.
A simple "hi, how are you" might be just another greeting to you. However, there many many other factors involved when it's said. The tone. The scenario. The circumstances. The person you say it too. Who you are. Such words might be a greeting to you, but, to the person you're saying it to, they could have an entirely different meaning, and bring about entirely different thoughts, feelings, emotions and meanings. Take a scenario involving a guy and a girl. The guy might greet her with such an expression, merely attempting to be courteous, but the girl could look at it an entirely different way. She might like the guy, and her heart could start beating faster at merely being addressed by him. She could have been having a bad day, and the expression could have been the only nice thing she's heard all day. See what I mean?
You never know what ways your words will affect people in.
A compliment can affect someone suicidal in a positive way.
A critcisim can affect someone generally happy in a negative way.
A show of interest, a skeptical remark, an insult, question...all can affect.
It's just amazing how many different ways our most simplest of words can affect people.
Keep that in mind next time you speak to someone.
Next time you exchange words with anyone.
Next time you start to speak (or type).
Think about it.
