I came across some discussion about superpowers today, and I thought of something. The question is always about which superpower you'd prefer. Some people want to fly, other be invisible, and so on. Well, let's say you had two people. One had the ability to read minds. The other had the ability to alter and travel time.

The mind reader isn't the only one who's going to know more about what's going on with people than you'd think. Why?

Well the person who can alter time. He can, for example, go into the future, and find out what the mind reader is going to do, then go back to the present. Upon his return to the present, he'll know what the mind reader is thinking about. The same would happen if he, let's say, wanted to know the mind reader's opinion on something, or what the mind reader would do, asked or found out, and then went back in time. Either way, the Time Traveler would in a sense, have an advantage similar to the mind reader.

Now, the mind reader, being able to read minds, would be in a complex scenario too. First, he'd be able to read the mind of the time traveler. So no matter what the time traveler did, and where in time he went, the mind reader would know it. He'd know it, and every action and change the time traveler made.

So for example, if the time traveler went forward in time, to see what the mind reader was going to do, and then returned to the present, the mind reader would know that. And if the time traveler tried to go back in time to fix it and stop the mind reader from finding out that he looked through time, the mind reader would know that too.

So really, if you had a mind reader and a time traveler together, they'd better be a team.

Now, if they were a couple, that would be interesting. And I suspect that eventually their intimate and open knowledge of each other would bring them closer together.

For an example, let's say you have a Mind Reading Husband and a Time Traveling Wife. Let's say the husband were to forget his anniversary. Well, being a mind reader, he'd remember, because his wife remembered. And for an even crazier example- Let's say the mind reader was going to forget his anniversary. Well, before he even forgot his anniversary, the time traveler wife would have gone forward in time, to the date of the anniversary, and found out that the mind reading husband was going to forget. And with the time traveling wife having found out, the mind reading husband would read her mind and know that he was going to forget.

Any combination of powers would of course be ideal. Pixar made a movie about them. Some family......

In hero comics it is always about how that particular power saved the day, but another power may have been able to save the day too, but that would be a different comic. Mind reading would not really do a lot. But you are not really talking about that. You are just bringing up the idea of having two super powers. Of course that would be great and they could both contribute to the situation of a missed date.

I wasn't really thinking about a comic book. I was basically laying a "what would you choose," question and merging it with which would be more beneficial to someone.
