"My relatives have failed, and my intimate friends have forgotten me." Job 19.14 (NASB)
There are moments in life we feel all alone. Life can be hard, we all know that, but it is even harder when we are alone. The statement "Sometimes you can't make it on your own" is so true. I talked to a girl that due to a misunderstanding, got in trouble with her family. They wouldn't believe or trust her anymore. Her other relatives lived far away, friends from school would mock her for what was going on in her life, and she felt very alone. Job from the Bible felt like this too. He lost all of his sons and daughters, he was very sick, lost all his possessions, and even lost his house. What’s more, even his ‘friends’ started blaming him for things he never did and saying he deserved all that had happened to him.
Can any of you relate to Job? Have you felt like this before? Do you know someone who is going through a situation where he or she feels like this? God will never leave you or abandon you. (Hebrews 13:5) If you are committed to His Son, God’s love for you will never end, no matter what you’ve done, He still loves you. (Romans 8:3 cool You can be sure that when there's no one around you and it seems like no one is on your side, God will be there for you. Even if your family or your closest friends have turned their backs on you, God will still be there for you and stand for you.

OVER COMING NEGATIVE SELF IMAGE
2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (NLT)
We use God’s mighty weapons, not mere worldly weapons, to knock down the Devil’s strongholds. With these weapons we break down every proud argument that keeps people from knowing God. With these weapons we conquer their rebellious ideas, and we teach them to obey Christ.
You know those thoughts? The ones that tell you you’re not good enough, that you can’t do anything right, the ones that say you’re worthless? The ones that make you think that you need to look a certain way to impress people. That you need to loose X amount of weight. Once a thought like that comes into your mind I want you to stop what you’re doing. Notice the thought and out loud or in your head say, “I hold this thought captive in obedience to Jesus.” And then replace that thought with some of the truths of who you are in Christ.
Don’t feel down on yourself if you forget to do it, or it doesn’t seem to work. I mean, you’ve been thinking these thoughts for a while now, so its going to take a while to get into the practice of getting rid of them. Making an effort to replace those thoughts, brings joy to God. It really does.

…REST…
"…Let the beloved of the LORD rest secure in him, for he shields him all day long, and the one the LORD loves rests between his shoulders." Deuteronomy 33:12 (NIV)
Rest. What a powerful and wonderful word. After spending a whole month of constant hard work, struggles, and pouring out to others, it is the word I feel God is now telling me.
If you sat down and wrote out a detailed list of everything you need to get done and include everything you are involved in, you might be writing for quite a while. Between school, homework, chores, jobs, extracurricular activities, spending time with God, friends, family…, the list goes on and on. We are all so busy with our lives and our work that often we forget that what we are doing has purpose. God has a plan in our lives and wants to show us that, but he also wants us to take time to rest and embrace his promises and realize his causes for things. He wants to hold you as a father holds his child and comfort you through your hectic life – to show you the meaning of peace and security.
Take some time today to pause for rest and allow God to comfort you and show you just how secure and loved you are by Him. Don’t worry about not having enough time; time is trivial compared to the wonderful things God wants to show you through rest. Now let God tuck you in.

CONTINUE TO BUILD
“But you, dear friends, must continue to build your lives on the foundation of your holy faith. And continue to pray as you are directed by the Holy Spirit. Live in such a way that God's love can bless you as you wait for the eternal life that our Lord Jesus Christ in his mercy is going to give you.” Jude 1:20-21 (NLT).
I really liked finding this passage and all that it encourages us to do. Jude is telling us to continue to build on our foundation, our faith in Jesus Christ. But what if we don’t have our foundation in Christ? Well, regardless, we will be building on a foundation. However, if our foundation is anything but Christ our foundation will not last. We will be like the foolish man who built his house on the sand (see Matthew 7:26).
If we are not taking the time to build our foundation in Christ, we’re leaving God’s project for our lives undone and we are responsible. When tough times come and our foundation is in worldly things, we’ll be swept away with them (see 1 Samuel 12:25). Why shouldn’t we build our foundation in the One who has overcome the world?
Moreover, verse 21 in Jude says that we should live in a way that will allow God to bless us. Are we living in such a way that God can bless? If not, let’s start! Seek first the Kingdom of Heaven and all these ‘other’ things will be added to you as well. God will bless us with the desires of our hearts if we look to do His will first and foremost (see Matthew 6:33; Psalm 37:4).

KNOWING JESUS = EVERYTHING!
“Everything that goes into a life of pleasing God has been miraculously given to us by getting to know, personally and intimately, the One who invited us to God. The best invitation we ever received!” 2 Peter 1:3 (MSG).
Everything we will need to carry out our King’s agenda is miraculously provided for us as we passionately embrace and walk with our Savior. We must spend time intensely focused on Him, waiting on Him, and reading His Words. You see, God saved us primarily to be with us, not to have us work for Him. And when we get that idea turned around, we’re working for nothing, and putting ourselves in grave danger. Our focus must be having a real friendship with Jesus and our Heavenly Father because, “No matter what we say, what we believe, or what we do, we’re bankrupt without love” I Cor. 13:3 (MSG).
This is a serious matter, and can’t be overlooked. The Son of Man made that very clear to the church in Ephesus. He said, “I have seen your hard work and your patient endurance. I know you don't tolerate evil people…You have patiently suffered for me without quitting. But I have this complaint against you. You don't love me or each other as you did at first! Look how far you have fallen from your first love! Turn back to me again and work as you did at first. If you don't, I will come and remove your lamp stand from its place among the churches” Revelation 3:1-5 (MSG).
God cares way more about who we become, than what we do for Him. Let us make sure we keep the main thing (knowing Him), the main thing (see John 17:3). As you do that, you’ll find yourself being miraculously equipped with whatever you need.

Be Ready
“And, if you are asked about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it.” 1 Peter 3:15 (NLT).
In recent years, movies and other media with a spiritual emphasis have gotten the world’s attention. I’ve heard a lot of Christians that have been offended by the apparent challenge to our faith. Personally, I’m excited about it! People everywhere are taking notice of spiritual issues. As misguided as they may be, they are looking for truth. Moreover, the Bible says, “From one man He made every nation of men that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us.” Acts 17:26-27
Therefore, my challenge to you today, is to really find the core of your faith. Be prepared for difficult questions and be willing to share with others the faith on which you stand. Let’s challenge the world to find truth in Jesus Christ.
Jesus said in John 7:17, "If anyone chooses to do God's will, he will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own.” Then, like Paul let’s say, “I know whom I have believed…” (2 Timothy 1:12)

WITNESSING 101
“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:18 (NIV)
What is witnessing? In the dictionary witnessing is: “One who can give a firsthand account of something seen, heard, or experienced.” Have you ever thought of that when the word witnessing came up as far as your Christian faith is concerned? Do you share your experience with people?
When we witness, many times we think that we need to just start spouting off scriptures like John 3:16 or Romans 3:23, 6:23 and 10:9. We think that we need to give them Christianity as a quick fix to their problems, but that is not what Christianity is…
First, Christianity as a message is going to be foolishness to people as 1 Corinthians 1:18 says. This means that they are not going to understand it if you just come up and say “You are a sinner going to Hell and you need Jesus in your life to save you”. They need to see a real reason for why they need Jesus in their lives in the here and now. When Jesus comes into our lives and we get our focus lined up with his our lives will be radically different. We no longer live for the same old junk anymore, we live for a higher purpose.
Second, it is not by our words that people are going to want to turn from their sin, it is by our actions. I have heard many people say that they love the message that Christianity has but that they would never be able to accept it because the people that claim Christianity don’t live that way at all. We need to step it up and live a pure life of love for people and then the message will have a place to be planted.
John 13:35 says, “By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
