I'm on the Freedom servor under Romeomoon. My characters are two natural/martial arts scrappers: Tira Moon and Jenira Raiz. Tira is a white tiger girl with blue stripes and purple hair. I never did the tutorial for Tira, so I made Raiz so I could get a better feel for the game.

Is there a way to go back and do the tutorial with a character if you turn it down after creating that hero/villain?

It seems a lot like a first person shooter, like Team Fortress 2, and it took me a while to get used to using the keyboard. Whenever I used the mouse, I'd get screwed up with the camera in the 3-D setting, so I stopped using it except when running over long distances.

Otherwise, it's a little bit easier than I thought it would be. I have been sent to the hospital already. I was about half way through a mission and had to return to kill all the bad guys in the area. I wasn't keeping an eye on the "civilians" in the area by dragging my mouse over them, a practice called "targeting". Innocent city folk show up with their names in white and villains such as gang members show up as gray, white, yellow, orange, red, or purple with a stat bar over them. I thought I had to actively seek out the gang members in order to fight them, so I wasn't really looking for them.

So like I said, I was just running along, trying to remember how I got into the abandoned office building so I could finish my mission, when I'm jumped by, like, four guys, all with either a yellow, orange, or red name indicating their difficulty. I get sent to the hospital, which is all right since you don't accrue XP dept until you hit level 10.

I had played COH/COV back a few years ago, I may get back into it someday. However the game doesn't have a lot going for it nowadays. My bro offered to pay my sub if i played it with him so i might play it again for a while.

I've kind of given up on this one. It's just running around killing a lot of things and level grinding. At first, it was really neat, but then it got boring, probably because I'd never played an MMO before. I always had to struggle to keep my characters powerful enough that they wouldn't get killed on the way to the mission location. I also didn't really feel like I was part of the story. Just going on random missions and stuff. Plus when I teamed with people, my computer got really laggy.
I might try it again some day, but for now, I'll play free stuff.

UPDATE:
*sigh* so as of 1-27-09, I've reinstalled it. Mostly because a lot more people I know are playing it. Hopefully I can vary the game play more. Should get better once I get my new laptop.

And yes...Now that I have a desktop, albeit a Dell Dimension 4700 with the RAM maxed out at 3.25 GB, I'm still playing. Kind of the the new color spectrum idea for changing the colors of your powers, although it's created a lot of strobing effects for some people.

For those who don't know, CoX has gotten some major graphics updates along with new power sets for the Issue 17 update. If you pre-ordered the new expansion set Going Rogue, due out this July, you received the new Duel Pistols power set. Along with this set, once I17 came out, you got Demon Summoning as a villain power set for City of Villains.

I love both DP and DS! I've never played a Mastermind before on red side (aka CoV), but so far so good smile . Can't wait for the expansion as that will expand upon the setting of Pretorian Earth, an alternate dimension where all the key Hero NPC's are villains and the key Villain NPC's are heroes.
