From frustration and crying.

It started off with me seeing a letter on the table that looked like an invitation.
It was--to the Awards Ceremony for seniors at my school.
Basically, if your parents get one of those, it means you got an award and they want your parents there to see you get it.
So I showed my dad and told him I was happy about it, and he said, "How do you know it's something to be happy about?"
I said, "It's an award. Why would they give out an award you shouldn't be happy about?"
And he said, "Well I mean it could be one of those dumb awards. Like Perfect Attendance, you know? I mean, if you got some amazing Leader or something award that'd be good. But it's probably just something with National Honor Society." (NHS is a group I made it into that's for good students. It's probably got close to 50 senior members out of 300 seniors at my school.) "They probably give those out to everybody."
I said, "Why do you have to ruin things for me? I was happy about it, and you're telling me it's probably nothing. You always do this to me."
He said something I don't remember, probably something like, "I'm just saying." or something dumb like that. It didn't matter what it was.

So anyways, that made me cry.

And then my sister, her friend, and I ordered pizza and cinnastix. And normally it's just me and my sister, so I get half a pizza (4 slices) but I would usually drop it down to 3 slices to allow her friend to have some pizza.
We got half black olives on it, but I hate those, so it's basically understood that I get dibs on the other half.
So her friend takes 2 slices from my half and none of the black olive half. :/
I got really mad of course and started yelling.
(I admit I overreacted.)
My sister said I could just have 4 cinnastix.
So I said, "I'll have all the ******** cinnastix!"
I didn't, though. I had 3, 'cause my dad one. Otherwise, I'd've had 4.

That didn't make me cry, but it made me really mad.

And then my dad asked me what I wanted for my graduation present.
I told him I didn't know cost-wise what I could expect.
And he just asked what I wanted, so I told him I wanted something to drive.
This is very reasonable 'cause my parents only have stick shift, and I tried forever to learn it and couldn't.
I'm almost 18, I've had to renew my permit, and I'm still nowhere near getting a license.
He said, "Did you find your glasses?"
I need them to drive 'cause I have a slight vision impairment that makes it harder to read things at a distance.
Of course I haven't found them, and I likely never will I haven't already.
I almost never lose things, 'cause I always put them in the same place so I know where they are.
They were in my sweater pocket like always.
But for some reason one morning, they weren't.
And there were no where to be found in school and they were in any of our vehicles.
I don't go very far. School, Subway, home.
So if I haven't found them, I won't.
My mom said we'd look into getting new ones.
But in this conversation with my dad, he said, "Well then you don't have to worry about driving. You need your glasses. Let me know when you find them."

So that was really frustrating and I cried again.

I guess I'll clean my room up and see if my glasses are there for some strange reason. (my sweater never comes upstairs)
But it'll likely be a waste of time.

I feel a little better now, but I still have a slight headache. ):

If you read this, thanks.

If not, (tl;dr?) it won't really bother me.
I don't think many people come to this subforum anyway.

EDIT: I found my glasses! [:
My bus driver was hiding them. :/
It's been like two weeks or something and she FINALLY announced that someone left some glasses on the bus.

awwww~~~ *hugs*
I hope your headache is better~
Parents can be terribly strict sometimes...;-;
I hope you find your glasses and things end up okay.

Congrats to making it through NHS though. I joined my junior year...then on my senior year I missed the last fundraiser [which was required] because I was gone on a jazz band trip and got kicked out. ^^;;;

Oh, that sucks. D:

Our required thing is that we have to help with the roadside clean up at least twice out of the 4 times it's done in 2 years.

I don't know if anyone's been kicked out.

NHS is kinda dumb in picking students, though.
'Cause someone I know didn't get in until he sent in an appeal.
THEN they accepted him, even though he's a great student in several clubs and with amazing SAT scores and grades.
I guess one of his teachers hates him for some reason. :/

ooooh. suck.
I hate it when school politics go into play wrongly like that.
I just had an icky headache from the parents. UGH!!

So...in the beginning I started out as a Biology major. and I still am now technically, but I don't really feel like going through it at this point in time. I looove Biology. but I can't go through it in the environment where my parents stress at me all the times to make sure I'm the most perfect little student they want me to be [i.e. stay home all the time and study, not have friends, focus only on school, etc.]

So I proposed a plan last week to switch my major to Accounting because its different. I'll learn more about the business aspects of the 'real world.' I mean, if I can't have a job I need to know somehow. :[ [They don't let me have a job because they don't want me to worry about money. UGH] By the time I get out of college, I'll get an average paying job, save up, and do whatever I want with the rest of my life.

But my dad said no and said I should continue with Biology because I was already halfway done. [My mother doesn't care about what I do anymore because she already gave up on me after I dropped out of my first college]

AND NOW...after I've prepared myself for continuing with Bio, my dad changes his mind and says...you need to change your major. To either Accounting or whatever you want to do.

It's funny how things ended up...but...massive...headache...and frustration. Plus we're all going on a family vacay tomorrow for a little over a week. woohoooo. Way to start it off.

Thanks if anyone read all of that. xD I really needed to rant.

That's terrible. D:
I know exactly how that feels, too.
I'm afraid that's what my dad's gonna do.
I told him I don't know what I wanna do, so I'm leaving my major Undecided, and he was really upset about that.
He didn't go to college, though, so I don't wanna hear anything he has to say about my academic choices. :/
He can advice me all he wants about money, but if he tries to dictate my major and stuff, I'll be pretty mad.
I'm gonna try to keep communication low with him since I'll live on campus.

Good luck with your own dad. ):

@Squirely: My dad always says that wrong things.
The other day, when I got my award, he didn't congratulate me or anything ('cause he was mad it was only Perfect Attendance), and then later, he said, "You know why you didn't get any of those scholarships? You were probably the one honest person who actually told what your parents make."
(They make over 100 grand, so I'm eligible for almost nothing.)
That's not how you comfort your daughter. rolleyes

I know exactly what you mean about the pizza! O:<
As you can see from the first post in the thread. xD
But I'm really possessive and I also like to tell people how things should be, soooo... >______>

I still need to get like 50 some hours of driving, and I don't have any vehicle to drive, so I'm still stuck with a permit. ):
But at least I have my glasses! xD
