Warning: This is a Boy's love story, "cussing", and later on may contain violence, blood, and gore...you've been forewarned.

Prologue

A fairy tale is used in order to evoke children's imaginations in a way not to be understood by anyone but children. Even as a child Kaitan disliked hearing fairy tales, so it wasn't a surprise that he wasn’t to fond of them even now that he didn’t believe in fairy tales involving mythical creatures doing mischievous things, princes saving princesses, heroes saving damsels in distress, and heroines falling in love with the wrong guy, it was just endless and the list kept growing much to his dismay. Who needs fairy tales? They weren't real and their endings weren't really happy either. People who believed in fairy tales in his eyes needed a serious reality check. Sure fairy tales taught young children lessons and morals that they need in life, but isn't that what preschool and kindergarten was for? To teach you lessons and morals that you needed to survive in the real world.

Kaitan refused to even consider it, since people chose to teach children lessons and morals through lies and deceit which were fairy tales, to him it was like adults were poisoning young children's minds with the false security of make believe deeds of people and mythical beings that did not ever exist nor will ever exist in the real world, and in doing so causes not just the child's mind but everyone else's mind to fall into disequilibrium. Well, that's what he thought until he started to live in one...

It all started with his usual routine which consisted of him randomly picking a fairy tale or mythical creature into which to debunk and reporting his findings to his friend Feir, who much to Kaitan’s dismay believed in fairy tales and mythical creatures. Everyone around the two of them kept wondering why the two of them were friends and why seventeen year olds in their last year of high school were debating whether or not fairy tales, and mythical creatures existed or not.

The two teens were currently in their home room sitting in the very back of the class room, Feir was sitting at a desk next to a window which he currently gazing out the window with a far away look on his face. Kaitan sat in front of Feri on top of the desk letting his legs hang over. “So this time I'm going to prove to you once and for all that fairy tales, and mythical creatures don't ex-”, he stopped talking when he noticed that Feir wasn't even listening to him, instead he was gazing out the window with a far away look on his face. Kaitan took a moment to survey his friend, Feir was a pretty good looking guy in his opinion. Even Kaitan had to admit that much even though he himself is a guy. Feir had long black hair that reached a little bit below his shoulders, hazel colored eyes, and light colored skin. As an afterthought Kaitan noted that he was just a little to perfect, standing at five foot eleven he had a body that was lean but not to lean, muscle but not too much muscle, his light skin was light without being to light, teeth that were perfectly white and straight, not that he ever smiled..well he only seemed to look happy when ever he would talk to him about fairy tales, and try to get him to believe in them, Kaitan frowned.

Kaitan had befriended Feir in his Junior year of high school, when Feir had transfered in to his school a month after school had officially started. With the looks that Feir possessed he could have easily have become the most popular guy at school..but Feir's eccentric behavior, and ideals caused him to be labeled as a scapegoat. No one would partner up with Feir for class projects, and since Kaitan himself had arrived to class late, he was forced to be his partnerf or the projetc that was assigned. Even though he had been forced to be Feir's partner for the most part he enjoyed his company except when he opened his mouth up about fairy tales and mythical creatures. When ever he brought the subject up Kaitan would immediately end up in a heated debate with him...and so through those heated debates, the two teenaged males had become close friends, despite their differences.

Even though Kaitan and Feir have been friends for a little bit over a year now, Kaitan still didn’t know that much about Feir other than the fact that he's the same age as himself, lives alone, works, and likes anything to deal with fantasy/supernatural. Feir refused to talk to him about his family, where he lived and went to school before transferring to this school, and the reason why he had transferred to this school in the first place. Now that he had thought about it, everything about Feir is strange, *I wonder why he feels that he needs to be secretive, even to me*. Kaitan shifted positions in order to face Feir to ask him that very question.

“Feir... hey Feir?...HEY FEIR!”, to Kaitan’s dismay his friend still wasn't listening, but he did get weird looks from his fellow homeroom mates which consisted of nothing but dirty looks directed towards him.

“Direct your dirty looks else where because it doesn't effect me in the least”, Kaitan dismissed them and stood up off his desk and walked over to poke Feir to get him out of what ever day dream he was in when he decided to grace Kaitan with his voice, note the sarcasm.

“Kai do you believe in faeries?”.

Kaitan couldn't hear him, “I'm sorry what did you say?.”

“Do you believe in faeries?”.

“Feir what the hell kind of question is that?, you know the answer is no”, he frowned at him. *What the heck was wrong with him?, he knows that I hate fairy tales and that I didn't believe in them or mythical creatures*. he already found it quite odd that his seventeen year old friend still believed in them, were are both in high school in the name that is all holy what was wrong with the guy?

Feir didn't answer him though, he went back to gazing out the window and Kaitan couldn't even press the matter further because at that moment the homeroom teacher had come in and unfortunately scolded Kaitan for not sitting in his seat. He made a mental note to finish that discussion with Feir after school and took a seat at his desk.

“And let the torture of school begin”, Kaitan muttered under his breath.

Many agonizing hours later the bell rang signaling that school was over for the school day to come to an end, and Kaitan hastily picked up his backpack and ran out the door to go wait at Feir's locker. He stood there waiting patiently for Feir to show up for half an hour before he decided to go home, when he finally did get home he threw his backpack on the floor of his room causing a loud thud to be heard from the heavy contents of it. Kaitan threw himself on his bed so that he was laying on his stomach, and his legs were dangling off the edge of the bed. He moved his arm over to the bedside table and picked up his phone to call Feir. He was going to have a long talk to Feir about ditching his only friend, without a single word as to why he had to leave without him.

Kaitan patiently waited for Feir to pick up the phone but he never did ,all he got was the answering machine. He wondered what was up, he couldn't possibly be with family because as far as he knew he had none which is what he told him. Kaitan bit the bottom of his lip in worry he had a bad feeling about this. He decided o shrug off the worry, maybe something came up at work, and he had to go in immediately after school and just didn't mention it to him, which was slightly odd to in his eyes. Feir is his own individual and he didn't have to tell him everything, nor was he his boyfriend, not that Kaitan wanted Feir for a boyfriend...after all *I like girls, not guys* . “I shouldn't worry about him. He can take care of himself. He'll be okay right? I'll see him tomorrow morning sitting in his sat day dreaming during homeroom”. These thoughts consumed him the entire night while tears started to pour out of his eyes unconsciously. *Why am I crying?, there’s no way that I like Feir like that*, Kaitan found himself crying his self to sleep. Never in Kaitan’s wildest imagination did he think that Feir would disappear from his life completely as if he had dropped off the face of the planet.

Chapter One Part One: Faerie Lesson One

It wouldn't be until the year following after Kaitan graduated high school that he would see Feir again while on a graduation trip in New York City. Kaitan had been waiting for the sign to change to walk so that he could walk across the street when he saw Feir already on the other side of the crosswalk and he was staring at him. “FEIR!” Kaitan cried out, and with that the chase was on.

Kaitan didn't wait for the sign to change as he ran over to the other side of the street to get to him, his action caused cars to honk at him or come to a screeching halt to avoid hitting him, but Kaitan didn't care. He chased him for an hour not once stopping to catch his breath, and then he finally caught him in Central Park Standing a little way off with a far off look in his eyes.

Kaitan took a moment to catch his breath his knees bent and hands resting on them as he panted. He stood up straight and he came face to face with Feir. Apparently he had come closer to him when he was trying tried to get his breathing under control. Kaitan gasped when he stood up and got a good look at Feir’s appearance. Feir’s skin had become inhumanly pale, and his shoulder length black hair was gone, replaced by many different shades of blue. A distraught look was etched over his face.

When Kaitan saw that look on Feir’s face his anger ebbed away to be replaced with concern. Kaitan raised a hand out to touch his long lost friend’s cheek, in a way he was using concern as an excuse to touch him. A few minutes elapsed without either of the males saying a word to each other before Feir removed Kaitan’s hand from his face.

Kaitan let his arm fall back to his side, and he shifted his weight from side to side as he stood there on the side walk waiting for his friend to say something.

“Listen..I don’t have enough time to explain what has happened to me this past year, so...”, Feir trailed off.

Kaitan jumped a foot back in surprise at the lack of emotion on Feir’s face, and tone in his voice. Kaitan wiped the surprised look off his face and replaced it with a serious look. “Feir, why did you leave without telling me anything?”.

“I don’t have time to explain!, they’re going to take me back!, They’ll be here soon...” Feir

“Who’s going to take you back?” Kaitan narrowed his eyes at everyone that passed him and Feir.

“The faeries!”, Feir glanced over his shoulder and narrowed his eyes.

“What the hell?, quit the crap about fairy’s they’re not real, fairy’s, and just tell me straight out why you disappeared for a whole entire year without trying to contact me”, Kaitan glared at him.

“They’re here!, Kaitan can you see them?”, Feir turned around to point at a tree that was in a near by park.

“No I can’t see them, ‘faeries’ are not real!, Kaitan rolled his eyes at his friend, he was starting to lose his patience with him. And for the record, no one’s even near that tree”.

Feir glared at Kaitan, “I should have known that you wouldn’t be able to-“, Feir stopped mid-sentence.

“For the last time of course I wouldn’t be able to see them, why? Because faeries do not exist nor will they ever exist!.”

“You know what, never mind!”, Feir’s glare intensified before he tool off running. Whether or not Feir was running from Kaitan, or if he really was running away from faeries, Kaitan didn’t know.

“Maybe I should have tried listening to him instead of being a total and utter jack a**”, Kaitan dropped his head down in guilt.

“I’ll try looking for Feir again later. It’s about time I went back to the hotel, so might as well leave there’s no reason to stay here”, Kaitan walked back to the hotel.

As soon as Kaitan arrived back to the hotel he found a note under the door of his room. “What the heck is this?”. Kaitan plopped down on his bed and opened the letter to read it. In messy handwriting was a note written by Feir.

Kaitan, look I’m sorry about acting so jumpy with you. I’m also sorry that I left for a whole year without telling you anything, but it wasn’t my fault- I was taken away. Remember that one day when I asked you if you believed in faeries? Well, I can see them and when they found out that I could see them they started talking to me, and asking me to come with them. Every single time I refused them, but that time that I didn’t meet you at my locker they decided to kidnap me. Little did It was my mistake, I didn’t know the rules until now, but I was supposed to ignore them and pretend I couldn’t hear them, and because I let them know I could see them it sealed my fate. Today I some how managed to escape from them, and that’s we were able to see each other again. I was able to find out where you were staying an-.

Kaitan paused, “How the hell did he manage to find my hotel room, and get here before me?”, he frowned. *There’s something weird about this*, Kaitan went back to reading the letter.

Summon a faerie named Mikala and draw up a contract with him, and find me. You’ll get all your answers to your questions that I assume you have. Love~Feir~.

“Normally I’d be delighted at the fact that Feir signed his name and used the word love, but something about this letter is weird...but what though?”, Kaitan frowned.

“Well, maybe I’ll give a shot at believing that this letter isn’t a load of baloney and do as Feir instructed. At any rate if this is just a game, then I’ll still be able to get answers out of him if I go along with it”, Kaitan sighed and ran his fingers through his hair.

“Now how do I go about doing this?”, Kaitan placed a hand under his chin in thought. A few minutes later Kaitan decided that he’d research on the internet how to summon a ‘faerie’.

After about a day and half’s worth of searching the internet, Kaitan obtained the information he was looking for and went right to work on summoning this ‘Mikala’ character. Kaitan sprinkled salt in a circle in the middle of his hotel room, sat down Indian style, and lit up incense that he bought at a nearby store. Apparently the salt that he had drawn a circle with was a protective circle that would protect him from being spirited away by the faerie, and the incense was a amplifier that would act to help draw out the faerie, along with the potion that Kaitan had concocted that would allow him to see the faerie that would appear before his eyes when he called out it’s name three times.

“Alright let’s get this ‘game started shall I?”, Kaitan eyed the glass that held the potion that he had made. He picked up the glass and lifted it up to his nose to sniff it. He regretted the action a moment later when he almost dropped it in horror at the smell.

“It smells like garbage!, and if it smells like garbage it probably tastes like garbage”, Kaitan eyed the drink in his hand wearily before taking a swig of it. “Gah, I’m going to die and it’s all Feir’s fault!”, Kaitan dropped the glass and the potion spilled all over the floor.

Rubbing his throat Kaitan inwardly blanched when he looked at the white carpet that was now stained thanks to the potion he had dropped. ‘They’re going to charge me for that”, he muttered.

“What ever”, Kaitan sighed. “Time to get back to this stupid game.” He called out the faerie’s name three times.

“Mikala. Mikala. Mikala”, Kaitan waited for something to happen. A few minutes passed by without anything happen.

“Nothing is happening, this is a load of bullshit. I should have known Feir was pulling my leg. After all faeries are not re-“ Kaitan stopped his rant when he noticed a outline of a person appear before him just outside the protective circle he was in.

“What the f**k is that!”, Kaitan rubbed his eyes with his hands to make sure he wasn’t seeing things. When he removed his hands from his face, his eyes widened in surprise. In front of him was a male about nineteen years old, inhuman looking forest green eyes with cat like slits, pale creamy skin, long wavy brown hair, and slightly pointed ears. Besides the eyes and ears this guy could pass for human. The guy was wearing a white shirt with blue jeans and an orange button up shirt that he left unbuttoned.

“Who the hell are you? And how the hell did you do that!”.

“You..mortal...are the one who called me are you not? So you should already be aware of what my name is”, the guy shot a piercing look at Kaitan.

“There’s no ******** way this is real!, your some cosplay freak that some how found a way to use that fake magic that you see on television to get in here. And by the way you missed Halloween by like three months.” Kaitan kept one on eye on the guy while he used the other to eye the phone that was on the table next to his bed. *I’ll call the police the first chance I get*.

The guy calling himself Mikala glared at Kaitan, “You can deny it all you want to, but I still can’t leave until you dismiss me, so if you are not in need of my services I suggest you dismiss me, and you can find your friend on your own.”

“Hold on!, you know where Feir is?, Kaitan frowned.

“That would be correct to some extent”, Mikala answered him with annoyance ebbed in his voice.

“Than take me to him right now!, I don’t want to play this stupid game!”, Kaitan stood up, but didn’t move out of the circle because there was always a chance that Mikala actually was a faerie, though Kaitan refused to believe it, he wanted to play it on the safe side.

“If you wish to see ‘Fiory’ then I suggest you name the terms for the contract to be forged”, Mikala crossed his own arms over his chest.

“I knew it!, your just some nut job, my friend’s name is Feir not Fiory. I’m going to call the police!” Kaitan made a move to step out of the protective circle.

“I wouldn’t do that if I were you, not unless you want to die. Not that I care about your well being. Actually never mind go ahead and step out of the circle”, Mikala gave Kaitan an amused look.

*Is this guy for real?, he’d kill me for stepping out of a stupid circle. Well, I don’t planning on dying any time soon, so I’d better go with the flow* , Kaitan sighed heavily.

“I’m waiting mortal. Set me free or, draw up a contract with me.”

“Alright, hold on”, Kaitan held up a hand to silence Mikala.

“Okay, say I believe you’re a ‘faerie’”, Kaitan used his fingers to “Prove it.”

“I don’t have to prove anything to a ignorant mortal such as yourself”, Mikala glared at Kaiten for not believing that he is a faerie.

“Just name your terms already!”, Mikala snapped at Kaitan.

“Well somebody didn’t take their happy pills today”, Kaitan smirked.

“Why you annoying little twit!, I’m done being civil with you, I swear I’m go..”, Mikala was cut off by Kaitan.

“Or you’ll what? Kill me. If you wanted to kill me you would have done it by now if you were out for my blood. And if in fact you are a faerie like you say you are then I’m afraid you won’t be able to do any thing because you can’t step into this protective circle. At any rate either way I think I can take you on and kick your a**”, Kaitan replaced his smirk with a grin.

Very nice pressing with the suspense and the use of Interjections to emphasis feelings and the current mood. Also a great transition for the 1st chapter.

I'd leave more of a comment, but I don't want to mess up your thread. I'll just edit this comment as you add more to your posts.
