Down by the water in front of the castle, a white haired young women saw, her legs in the water half way up her calves. Beside her on the ground lay thigh high lace-up boots, and a sword in it's black and gold sheath. The guard on this sword extended so that three golden 'ribbons' came back over the hilt of the Eurpoean-style sword. On the girl's forehead was a large black jewel attached by a sort of headband, and her navy blue cloak was draped around her shoulders. Sighing lightly, she removed her legs from the water and lay back in the light of the rising sun, her blue eyes facing skyward.

Upon the treeline where the shade began to rise with the morning sun and the water was closest to land, yet always at ease, a young Strider layed, belly down and feet up, scribbling down notes on a piece of paper. "Perhaps if I added... no, that's not right...maybe... no, no... I just... argh... Blast it all!" Yata growled to himself, ferociously scratching out what seemed like a complicated formula of some sort. The troll gave a sigh, deciding to enjoy the sunrise and the cool lake air before giving another go. He had to admit, it was nice outside of the castle early morn... certainly better than sleeping in the normal drear. Yata switched sides, laying on his back now with his arms folded behind his head. The birds began to chirp, the nocturnals began to rest, and little noise polluted the air. Silence. Perfection. Since the earliest hours, Yata had decided on the notion that if he were to get any work done, he would have to get away from the bustling ruckus inside Strider castle, and enjoy the tranquilities that were gifts to all who would receive them, on the outside. Sure, sometimes it could be perilous to stay out of the castle in the darkest hours before the dawn, (As you could never truly know what lurked just beyond the trees) but Yata'Djinn figured for the sake of his advances, it was well worth the risk. Now, if he could just get the damned anti-venom to work. Yata sighed once more, pulling his purple Chapeau down over his eyes. He had been working hard and long, and thought he deserved just a pinch of rest.

"And you were so close, too." came a light, melodic voice. Looking up, one would notice the presence of a blue-eyed, white-haired women. She was dressed in a black and silver tunic, and thigh high boots of intricate design. At her waist was a black and gold sheath and sword, her navy cloak blowing slightly in the morning breeze. She bent to retrieve the troll's notepad, looking over the scribbled out bits. "Only a few things wrong, and some missing."

Yata practically jumped out of his robe as he flailed about, truly quite startled. "Gah! Captain! I...erm... didn't expect you out here this early in the morn!" Yata said, gathering up his loose leaf notes, which he had flung all over the place. He caught one swiftly drifting in the breeze, and saved the paper from a watery end. Another head the same rout, far off into the lake. Yata quickly flicked his wrist, Launching a dart with the help of his talent. The dart caught the paper and stuck it onto a tree on the other side of the lake. The troll sighed, half annoyed of his quick thinking when he could have just as easily floated the paper back to him. "For a Psychic, I'm not very smart." Yata said to himself quietly. He was just glad Captain Fornicatus had grabbed his notebook before his clumsiness had taken the chance to throw that into the lake too.

"I'm always out here." she replied calmly, restraining the smile and laughter bubbling up in her throat. Reading through the list again, she flipped to a new page. She bent down, retrieving the writing utensil Yata'Djinn had been using to write the formula. She took a few moments to scribble down the ingredients for the medicine the troll had been trying to get right. "This is the one, correct?"

Yata placed the notes within his robes, calmly taking his notebook back. "Well, I'm afraid this is my first Dawn outside the grounds." Yata said, his typical smile creeping over his face. Yata looked over the notes carefully, beginning to stand as he comprehended them. When Yata stood his full hight, he well towered over his Captain a good few feet. Though Yata was one of the smallest of the small race of sentient troll, he was still larger than most demons were. "Th...Thats it! Eureka!" Yata said, completely exited. "I've been trying to perfect this formula for nearly two years now... a regenerating potion, that could regrow lost limbs, without the backfire of damaging magical currents... amazing..." Yata looked down at his captain, his I'm-going-to-eat-you smile slightly more vivid. "Hah, thank you Captain, If I had known sooner I would have asked for your council a long time ago." Yata could only imagine the things he could synthesize with this new potion.

"Haha, I'm glad to have helped." Fornicatus smiled up at the troll, having seen scarier smiles among the Knights of Darkness. She had nothing to fear from her own warrior. "And only your first? The first light is always more beautiful when viewed from the outside the castle, where the lights do not interfere...." she turned, looking out at the still slowly rising sun.

"Aye... an inspiration" Yata said, smiling towards the sunrise. The young troll lifted his goggles, his strange, blank white eyes seemingly protected from the rising rays of sun. "I intend to have many more out here, I seem to be able to think clearly in this air... when I'm not being startled out of my skin by mine captain... that is." Yata turned, focusing on the paper stuck to the tree on the other side of the lake. With minor concentration, both the dart and the paper freed themselves from the tree and floated back into Yata's grasp. With a small sigh, Yata'djinn examined his notes, which were a bit soggy, and had a hole in them. "Hmmmm, 3rd rank training is to start soon, any chance I can get some leeway?"

"Your captain will startle you out of your wits when she sees fit!" she replied, the anger in her voice only half-hearted. Glancing up as he asked for a bit of leeway with his tardiness, the captain nodded and reached out to take his pen. Also retaking the notebook, she scribbled down a strange symbol. "Show that to your instructors. They will recognize it, and your tardiness had best be excused." she handed back his pen and notepad, nodding. "Off you go, then."

"Thank you, Captain Fornicatus." Yata cave a small bow, retaking his pen and notes. Yata'Djinn turned smoothly, and as his cloak twirled, Yata's figure or presence was neigh within reach of his captain anymore. Relocating his entire being from one place to another usually was very taxing upon the Troll, but finding some newfound energy, Yata managed to teleport himself into the castle. Unfortunately, using less power usually resulted in a sort of malfunction, and when his being reformed, he found himself hanging upside down in a courtyard tree. "Oh, not good." Yata called upon a slight amount of power... just enough to float down to the ground. Unfortunately, he did not have much energy left. "I just had to go with the fancy exit..." He said, hurrying to his training session.

Fornicatus blinked, a bit surprised that the troll had used such a technique directly before the training lesson. Shrugging, she nodded in approval at the exit anyway, and made her way back down to the water. She carefully removed her boots, and slipped her feet back into the water, setting her sword and cloak aside her for now.

A large man, well perhaps huge, entered the area. Among a sword and a mace there was a gigantic axe on the back of this man. He walked up to the captain. This was one of the few Dawn Striders that did not use an bow. The reason was simple, it was yet to be made a bow that Arenger would not break in two parts. Arenger Eliv looked around there hadn't been an attack for him in a while and even if he liked the area and people. Even if he enjoyed to eat an apple and look at the cloud he also liked to use his weapons upon his horse against other knights. "Captain. I heard there where some new men and I can sadly see that none match my size." In the left hand there was an open bottle of mysterious liquid. Well maybe not such a mystery for those who knew Arenger. "I've told you before...honorable...captain. You should seek more Norse knights. We're a bit brute but we're big brutes." Then Arenger sat down near the water and stayed silenced. Due to Arenger demand of honor, he could never say no to a drinking contest. Not that it was a frequently repeated event it happened once or twice a month.

"Yes, Arenger. I know of your request. I have been searching, but there are not many of your kind around these parts." she sighed, leaning back on one arm. She glanced over at the man beside her, her feet splashing lightly in the water. "I know of your power, and of the honor among your kind." she barely retrained the faint smile at the mention of honor, but sighed to cover it up. "I will continue my search."

Arenger placed the bottle into the ocean. This was something Arenger never knew how it worked yet it was fun. When the bottle contained an amount of liquid it didn't fall over, it kept itself upright. "Take some. I think it will fill into your taste." He looked at Fornicatus and smiled towards her. They had been around each other for some time hadn't they. "So how's it going on the male frontier." Always a fun question, not to mention in her current state her guard was kind of weak. The face of Arenger changed into a smiling one, the eye became a bit more clear to his normal self. He had indeed from his way out of the mess hall played a bit tipsy not to humiliate the little man that challenged him.
