Sony refuses to repair a ps3 as it is too dusty

Vote in the poll on the page

Their warranty says nowhere that dust voids the warranty

http://consumerist.com/consumer/audio/sony-csr-what-no-dust-doesnt-void-your-ps3-warranty-321288.php

And the CSR even says in the recorded phone call that it wouldn't void the warranty, so what's up Sony, why you being arse holes?

i completely agree with sony, they have no idea what the persons medical records are, they could have a deadly skin disease (dust is dead skin cells and other collected stuff), and if i worked for sony i would not even go near that thing, that is probably the reason it's messed up anyways, why don't he just clean it out and send it back?

i dont know, but dust isnt voiding the warenty, neglect does, but he didnt neglect it, he left it in the entertainment centre where its SUPPOSED to stay, used it normally, not droped, not damaged, and thats what sony advertise is the best way to keep it.

the link you provided didn't work for me
but since i haven't seen this person PS3 i can't really say anything but if it's extremely dusty i would call that neglect and i agree with sony

Hehe this is an old thread but i started replying already. It probably won't matter neway.

I'm sorry but it isn't Sony's problem that the guy didnt pay attention to his PS3 and wipe it down once in a while.

That is gross neglect. It is supposed to stay in the entertainment centre. But you still have to take care of it. That much dust is just disgusting and he should have payed a bit more attention instead of expecting a free repair and cleaning.
