I'm not really sure if this is in the right forum so just tell me if it should be somewhere else... >.<;;

Ok so a few months ago I told a very close friend of mine about gaia and persuaded him to join. Unfortunately over the next 2-3 months he was constantly begging for gold from me. Luckily he did not participate in any mating rituals as far as I know.

So has this ever happened to you? You get a friend in real life to join and they end up being n00bs? Or did you befriend someone on gaia only to have them pm you begging for gold the next day?

Ive accepted friends requests of people I thought were ok, then turned out to be noobs.. begging for stuff all the time. That's where the ignore button comes in 3nodding

Nope, I've never had that problem before because I'm the only one I know personally who's registered in Gaia other than a few friends I've met online before I joined that is.. and they're accustomed to the internet so they're decent and civil and are hardly called noobs. They're the ones who introduced me to the site in the first place..

And I don't accept random friend requests..

Yeah, I have one friend that I got on gaia a month or two after I joined and he never begged for gold either. I think he has way too much pride to ever do that. ^^

I totally agree with you, Bytch Godezz! When I had no expensive items or EI/MC's I rarely got requests... only from those who had a nice conversation with me or were in the same guild. But now they happen all the time, and I'd hardly consider myself rich or even well off for a gaian... Mainly when I wear some of the more coveted MC's or EI's... they seem to think I have gold to spare, so the requests come rolling in. It's strange to me, because I am not really rich... I feel for those weari ng an angelic halo or anyh of the items worth millions!

I have had many random requests when I have only said two things to a person. Then they get angry when I say I will decide later (as I always do, no matter what) Thanks to them... just makes my decision easier.

What I do find really strange though, is that I have had many requests of friendship from people who seem to know way less about Gaia, and how to behave on here, and seem to be noob or at leas newb... but when I go to check out their profile, they have been on gaia for longer (sometimes even two or more YEARS longer!!!) Has anyone else encountered that?

I asked my brother to join, which he did, but he hardly ever comes on, and he isnt the begging sort,... i dont eve think he's the gaian sort... lol i thin he just came to take a look.

I wish more of my RL friends would come on, but alas. Like me, I doubt any of them would be the begging sort.
