This thread contains my supertastic quest for the best dustling born from the dust essence rust which is awesome BTW.
Comments and Criticism (as long as it's constructive) are loved and I'll shower you with happiness if you leave some for me.

Dust essence - Rust.
When in contact with water and oxygen iron will rust. If salt is present, for example, in salt water, the iron will rust more quickly. This chemical reaction is used in the production of handwarmers. Iron metal is relatively unaffected by pure water or by dry oxygen. As with other metals, a tightly adhering oxide coating, a passivation layer, protects the bulk iron from further oxidation. Thus, the conversion of the passivating iron oxide layer to rust results from the combined action of two agents, usually oxygen 'and' water. Other degrading solutions are sulfur dioxide in water and carbon dioxide in water. Under these corrosive conditions, iron(III) species are formed. Unlike iron(II) oxides, iron(III) oxides are not passivating because these materials do not adhere to the bulk metal. As these iron(III) compounds form and flake off from the surface, fresh iron is exposed, and the corrosion process continues until all of the iron(0) is either consumed or all of the oxygen, water, carbon dioxide, or sulfur dioxide in the system are removed or consumed.

Dustling Concept - Oxiin.
Player Name; X Purple--Platypus X
Dust Name; Oxiin. [Ox - ee - n]
Dust Essence; Rust.
Dust Personality; Oxiin is quite the party pooper; irritable and short-tempered, he’s hardly someone who you can have a fun time with.
Oxiin makes a habit or insulting or criticising anything that he doesn’t understand or like, and at times his comments can be quite offensive to people. For example if he saw a piece of artwork that he didn’t like he wouldn’t think twice before telling his opinion to the artist and explaining all the negative features of the piece, without even pausing to consider that artist might not appreciate having their work torn to shreds by his harsh words. Oxiin complains about situations that he is in a lot too; saying it’s too warm or that he’s too tired… He never seems to be satisfied, and to be honest would happily complain about the most ridiculous petty things all day, if he had the time.
It is possible to get through Oxiin’s rather tough and unwelcoming shell, but even then he’ll still keeps his grumpy character, the only difference is that he’ll try to take into consideration people's feelings more, reducing the amount of insults given and if he feels connected enough to someone he’ll even go as far as reluctantly sticking his neck on the line for his friend, possibly by going into a fight to save them or something similar.
Dust Appearance; Tanned skin, amber/reddish brown eyes, wiry rust coloured hair, his clothing is fairly rugged and worn down, he could possibly have bandages wrapped aroumd his hands/wrists as it fits with his 'brawler' figthing style. He also has small rusty 'scabs' on his skin, they don't hurt at all and if they were scratched off his skin underneath wouldn't be harmed.
Special Abilities; 1) Tarnishing Touch - His touch is highly corrosive to metal, leaving all metal objects he touches with a thin layer of rust on their surface. This is generally a nuisance although it can be useful if he needs to weaken a foe's armour or weapon. [ As a battle ability this could weaken the foe's attacking strength for X amount of goes due to the fact that their weapon has rusted? However this might not work as some people wpuldn't use metal weapons. >u< ]
2) Rusted fists - For a short period of time Oxiin's hands are clad in rusted metal. His fingertips are made sharp with rusty jagged edges and so do more damage when he is fighting, his whole hand is slightly stronger too so a punch would also hurt more. He can still move his hands when the skill is in effect but his movements are slowed; for example, clenching his fist would take twice the time it normally would. [ Evade is lowered by X amount. Attacking power gains the amount of evade points lost? ]
I could it's pretty much the same as the semi-custom contest. I'll be adding more later. >: D
