Well, I would suggest The Morganville Vampires Series by Rachel Caine ( Glass Houses is the first one) as well as the House of Night series, and Shattered Mirror, Midnight Predator, and Demon in my View by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes. biggrin

My fiance really got into the Necroscope books. He was on a neverending hunt for them for months. He would search for the next one in the series for weeks, and then finish it in a day.

The Historian came out recently, which has alot of fun historical goodies in it. But I'm a history freak and what do I know, right?

Yeah, it's a cliche, but truth is often stranger than fiction.

It made me want to reread Stoker's Dracula and look up more legends about Vlad the Impaler (Vlad Tepes, Vlad Dracula, whatever you want to call him).
He was in a very long struggle with the Turks, and when he was visited by Mehmed II's messengers, they refused to remove their turbans because of their customs. So he offered to make them more secure in their customs and nailed their turbans to their heads. Some versions of the story go on to say that he did this while they were sitting to dinner and made them eat while they bled to death.
