✫Story✫ Enter Elyos: a massive continent which boasts of various landscapes and of multifarious races. From its lush tropical forests to its evergreen deciduous woods, from its vast deserts to its grassy plains, from it looming snow-capped mountains to its clear rivers, and from its spectacular coastline to its majestic waterfalls and deep lakes; All races of both mankind and of the more animalia dwell upon its surface. Long ago, this great continent was governed by a single king who ruled the land in both justice and equality. It seemed as a paradise upon earth...
Until the "masked ones" came. Said to hail from a mysterious island not too far from the south of Elyos while donning masks and dark cloaks, these figures descended upon the land in silence. Somehow in a single night they overtook the kingdom, inexplicably without so much as a fuss or bloodshed. All that is known to most is that the kind king and all members of the former aristocracy somehow vanished without a trace. By morning, all denizens now found themselves under the swift hand of these masked assailants.
Now, many decades later, the land is now ruled by administering lords and dukes who reside over each of their own regions. Races have become adamant towards one another as bias continues to build in humans towards those considered of lesser race. Rumors of a war ravage the land and the people are frightened. The "masked ones", now dubbed as The Shayde, hold presiding power over all who dwell upon the continent. Little is known about them -what race they are, why they come, or why they do what they do and as a result people greatly fear and loathe them. Part of this is due to a now age-old tradition: once a certain child reaches the age of ten, they then may be "chosen" by one of the Shayde and are taken away from their parents to be mentored under the one that chose them. They are taught many of the secrets and magics of this society, and even some over time end up building close bonds with these enigmatic individuals.
And here this tale begins with you. Where will your allegiances lie? When will this so-called war begin? What are the secrets that these masked figures hold and what is their origin? Why are they here and what is their purpose? Only you can discover the truth, restore peace, unravel the mysteries for yourself of Elyos...

✭Races✭ Humans: A mortal race which dominates half of Elyos' total population. Many live in villages and closer to the more civilized landscapes. The average life expectancy for this race is about seventy, but some have lived to be as old as one hundred and ten. Supremacy has lead most to wrongly believe that they are better than sub-humans.
Razoule: An animalian race which bears half-human, half-beast traits. They range in many sub-races and dialects. These people can morph into their associating creature and morph back many times, but the length of such transformations are dictated by the waxing and waning of the moon. Generally they reside near the coastline, upon mountains, and in the lush forests; Anywhere that is less domesticated. But they have also been known to reside in human territories, despite a rich amount of slanders and attacks from the race which deems itself "superior" to their own. Longevity runs in this race with life spans generally reaching to at least two hundred years.
Mesatzal: A race of demons whose sole way to live is by devouring the blood of other living beasts. Some are civilized while others are not. They are known to be very cunning, yet are also easily angered. Disliked by both humans and Razoule, they generally live in secluded clans run by individual chiefs and hunt solo. Being immortal, they can live on solely as long as they don't starve or are killed by something other than natural age/disease.
Shayde: An enigmatic race. Little is known about them, other than the fact that they are seemingly immortal. They always done masks and are avoided by most. Their physical prowess, deep wisdom, and magical abilities are quite renowned. They shift between the inner and outer workings of Elyos' political workings. Characterized by their mostly silent, powerful presence and feared by all, this is the most dominating (though very few in numbers) race.

6. Not everyone can be paired with a Shayde or be a Shayde. I'll use my discretion to decide who gets those roles; Sorry, not trying to be mean here, just fair. (After all, it is stated that Shayde are fewer in numbers!)

8. This is a medieval-ish RP so no super geeky technology -unless it's like some sort of arcane technology with a slight bit of magic to it wink .

Personality: Reserved, calculating, but also very rebellious.
Bio: Ever since he was very young, he's always dealt with hardship in many forms -racism, death, and even battle. His own family was killed right before his very eyes by an angry mob of racist humans. Ever since he has held a strong hatred for the human race. But also he has held the new government under the Shayde partly responsible. Thus he has gone around stirring up riots, calculated battles, and strikes against many regional leaders.
Now he is on the run. Constantly he hides and disguises himself, only relying on his fellow Razoule to aid him. But traversing through human populated lands could be more difficult than he thought, especially since there are wanted posters and bounty signs posted of him everywhere. Governmental leaders have deemed him a traitor and therefore he is being watched for...constantly.
Unique Feature/Ability: He bears the marking of a nearly extinct dragon clan; He also bears the Pendant of Arnor, an amulet said to belong to the ancient king of Elyos himself. When humanoid, one of the worst giveaways is his reflection: it is a dragon!

For six years their strategy prevailed, until one fateful day when she ran away from home and into the night just to feel a sense of freedom. She was spotted by a Shayde and instantly chosen. In tears her family mourned as they bid her their final farewells; She was then taken -despite a great deal of a struggle- to the Shayde which had chosen her. Now she is doomed to spend her life under the wing of this mysterious being whom she hardly even knows. What will she do?

Bio: Notoriously known by both his fellow Shayde and people, he still remains a walking enigma. Most of what he does is in secret and during the nocturnal hours, but he also works during the day. Many landlords call on his presence when the locals become too testy or hint on rebellion -due to legends of him once destroying an entire regiment which attempted to kill him. Currently he does not have a "Chosen", but that does not mean he isn't looking...

Unique Feature/Ability: Syrene has the ability to see what others are doing at any given time. To do this, she must have seen the person real life; a photograph won’t work. This ability is useful when she is trying to assassinate someone.

Personality: As a result of not speaking, his nature is -extremely- chaotic. His personality is rarely injured, and when he is set on something he is austere and unyielding. He is rare to anger and people look benevolently on him.
Bio: While many know Shayde, Tsurin looks quite young. Tsurin does not speak, and instead renders any directions via some other method (whether it be motioning or just scribing it, pen-and-paper-wise). His eye colour changes from grey to black depending on his mood. grey-blue is good... black is quite bad. Is he good? Is he evil? Most say he's good, and he has an aura of one who seeks justice.
Weapon Specialization: Natural -utilizes pressure points. Also has Ninjutsu training and wrestling skills.
Weapon of Choice: Does not use weapons, but can teach how to use them with ease. Has -extremely- heightened magical abilities.
Magical Skills: Mind Wrack- renders an opponent unconscious and unable to remember anything about the event that took place between him and the opponent. Has Teleportation and summoning skills.
Righteous Fury- if an opponent injures him in battle, they will also find that they are injured in the same spot.
Other: Tsurin is somewhat of a 'rogue' Shayde; he normally does not follow the advice of the lords, and even meeting other Shayde has a relatively bad outcome. Whether or not this constitutes to his 'good' status is unknown. And of course, he has a secret as to why he is considered 'good', unlike a lot of his counterparts...

In the darkest and deepest mine, Thanatos was making his way, hoping to find a rare metal which he would use for the creation of new weapons. He landed on the bottom of the mine. Where the race that had dug it, had stopped, only bones and treasure lay on the floor, but of course, the treasure was of the dragon whom called the mine 'home'.
Thanatos took out his sword, the dragon awoke from its slumber upon its pile of treasure and roared. It would do anything to keep a trespasser like Thanatos out. The dragon rose onto its hind legs and a fierce burst of flame was spat upon Thanatos from its horrible jaws. Thanatos stood unharmed, he merely looked at the dragon as it now swung its tail at him. A tail, so mighty and a swing strong enough to bring a castle wall down was about to lay impact over Thanatos.
Thanatos grabbed the tail as it was about to hit, the being stopped the tail with one hand, the dragon's eyes turned from anger to fear. Thanatos took his sword and cut the tail. He threw the piece in his hand away as the dragon roared in pain. Then with one last swift move, Thanatos threw his sword and it went right through the heart of the dragon and it fell, with a shock like an earthquake it hit the ground, bleeding, dead, on its own pile of treasury.
But Thanatos didn't care for such wealth, he merely gathered all the dragon bone he could, and searched around the bottom for his metal, which he found enough of and made his way back outside, he carried the bone and metals in mine carts which he had pushed up as he went.
He looked at the sun and started walking out of the forest, which he was in, with his findings.

Syrene was exploring her forest home like she usually did when she saw a strange sight. A huge Mesatzel was pushing mine carts with bones and metal sticking out. "He must be one of those uncivilized, blood thirsty murderers. I wish they would all just die." Syrene sighed and headed towards her next target: a human by the name of Ebony. Ebony was a Shayde supporter with many enemies, and by Twilight she would have disappeared without a trace. Syrene never left evidence behind when she killed someone; you stayed alive longer that way.

A voice suddenly echoed from atop the head of the mineshaft. "So what miserable lumps of coal have you gotten your grimy fingers into now, Thanatos?" Gúren stood atop the edge of its wooden frame, arms folded and his azure eyes focused solely on the robust Mesatzal. His cross, accusing yet mocking gaze seemed to hint the lack of fear on his part. "You know," he jeered nonchalantly, pretending to glance over his hand, "a Mesatzal such as yourself should be more careful about stepping into sunlight; You might burn those pretty little eyes of yours."
