Pirates are the closest thing we have to gypsies as a choice, so OBVIOUSLY it would be pirates! PLUS pirates wear corsets!! You can't get more kick a** than corsets!!!!!! eek

I'm against it.
Even though I have a thread all about pirates, (that isnt going anywhere).
I believe ninjas are equal to pirates. They both get the same hype and everyone loves them the same. They just argue that ones better then the other, so much that neither side is winning because theres just as many people who would fight it as agree for it.

I think pirates are the best because ninjas are way over dramatized in movies. They are assassins. When they take their swords out, you know how it goes "sllllling" , well that is hardly sneaky. Ninjas are just like guys dressed in black and they kill people that they're told to kill. Stricttly all men though, that is just sexist.
pirates are dramatizesed too, but really not all that much. They really just went around looking for treasure and plundering ships. PLUS, there have been lots of girl pirates( even though they had to hid their sexe at first). I think that is just awsom. Plus.......PIRATES ARE WHAT MAKE MY LIFE COMPLETE.

I agree with what DreamMasterx says about the hype of ninjas and pirates. For one I dont know how the comparison between pirates and ninjas happened because they like have nothing in common..well maybe except steal stuff from people, but type of society does that not happen. People just think about this topic too much. I think it goes nowhere, well..maybe gets you a quick swift in the butt when you find out your friend is a ninja when your a pirate. Though it gives a good random topic to discuss, its not good to make it like its EVERYTHING!!!!
So I'm neutral in this topic, because I enjoy both pirates and ninjas equally.
Side note: Everything is dramatized a lot in movies. and I mean EVERYTHING!!

Hmmm. Let me try to figure this out i the thread, okay?
First, pirates and ninjas are both considered to be "bad" people. Pirates rape, murder and plunder for their own pleasure and status. Ninjas are trained assassins who kill people for a living.
Second, both are somehow considered "cool" despite they fact that they break laws and take lives.
Third, both appear in stories, movies and games, with appeal for both types of character.
So... Let's look at them individually...
Pirates:
low morals
interested in pleasure and wealth
little to no discipline
open with regards to their identities
Ninjas:
low morals
highly disciplined
keep their identities hidden
Hm... Not really seeing much appeal to either of them now. sad

Pirates are drunk and rude, they are ok in small doses but overall are kind of lame.
A ninja is trained professional who is a master of the ninjitsu arts. they are disciplined and accurate. a ninja rarely does anything without reason.
the real test is which one would win in a fight, and that wold be a ninja.

They slip in, they kill their targets, they slip out. In order for it to be considered a fight, wouldn't there need to be at least some participation on the part of the other person?
