Me and my friends are recently starting a normal game. Most of them are playing elves and such however I plan on playing the only human wizard who is at an elderly state. My friends gave me a choice to use the ring of elven life to let my character live as long as an elf...however
What penalties will I encounter for a human living such long? Any bonuses? I know Intelligence and Wisdom increase with age..

I wouldn't go with an artifact that could be removed from the character, like a ring. It just opens you up to far too many problems if it ever gets taken away from your character.
If you're playing 3.5, there is a Prestige Class for Elf-Friend which grants some longevity. I would look there, if you're really worried about it. But really, unless your GM is planning on making big leaps in time, I don't think you're going to have to worry about aging too far ahead. The campaign I'm in that's been going for four-years has only covered about six months of in-game time.

Alright thanks.
Actually every adventure we have counts as usually 2 months in our players lives.
