A private Rp for myself between Edan and Kailey to complete Edan's second lesson. Please do not post, thank you <3
Green and blue eyes locked, the heated breeze of the Courtyard ruffling red and black hair alike as the two figures stood like perpetual statues in one of the back corners of the blistery sunny sector of the temples. Foliage and distance kept them hidden in the small clearing of sorts, sunlight glinting off pale and tan and silver as the lone droid hovered in the air above them. The mechanical eye watched unblinking as tension slowly bubbled into existence and life, growing and thickening the atmosphere around them. Taking note of every breath and micro-movement made by both, the youngling's faltering gaze did not go unnoticed, neither by the droid, nor the questionable Knight that stood but a breath shy of six feet from him. The tension seemed to sky rocket then, air thick and difficult to breath in. Yet the Knight seemed unfaded by the change, while the youngling took to taking deep breaths to not only fill his lungs, but attempt to calm his nerves.
Of course, the fact the said Knight was slowly pushing against his chest with the Force probably wasn't helping the situation any.
"Why... are we out here? I thought you said you wanted to tell me something...?" Edan frowned towards his sponsor, rolling his shoulders slightly to attempt to alleviate the rising feeling of suffocation and panic. There was no justification for his misgivings towards the teenager across from him, yet- ...he had a sinking feeling his discomfort was all due to the stony woman. She hadn't smiled once since she'd approached him in the halls, simply giving a blunt direction to follow her, that she had something she wished to discuss with him. Of course he'd followed without qualm, he was highly curious as to what it was they could possibly need to speak of so seriously. And yet, she hadn't spoken a single word since then, and now he felt like he was going to suffocate beneath her bright eyes.
Had he done something wrong..? "Kailey..?"

The silence hung intentionally between them still, the perfect poker face settled on the teen as she watched him. Mmkay, so maybe she was being a tad bit mean, making him all nervous like this... ah well, who cares? Kid needs to get a backbone!
...she was probably the worse person to give it to him, though. Crash-courses never seemed to work out well when she was involved...
Finally, a childish laugh and grin split the tension like the blade of the lightsaber at her hip. "Cool it, kid. What, you think I'm gonna hurt you or something?" His sudden whoosh of breath made her snicker, though she conveniently ignored his questioning pout at her words. "Besides, I actually do have a point for dragging you out here."
Her hands rested on hips, head cocked to the side as she regarded him yet again, though the atmosphere was lightened by not only her lack of Force manipulation but the welcoming grin on her face. "The temples are still waking up, and you kids are running around everywhere without too much structure. Sure you guys have been given lessons to complete, but I noticed you haven't exactly been keeping up with your 'studies', if you will."
Straightening, she strolled towards him by about three feet, cutting the distance between them by half. "So, I'm gonna take over this lesson of yours, Edan, and teach you right."

The pressure vanished from his lungs, and he greedily sucked in a fresh supply, the expired carbon dioxide rushing out but seconds later. By the stars how he loved fresh air... still though, he couldn't help but stand a bit on edge at her mention of possible injury to himself. Could he out-right say he believed she'd bring him physical harm? No, but could he out-right say she wouldn't do something that might cause him to bring himself physical harm? Something told him it wouldn't be out of the question for her, recalling her rather abrupt "attack" on the boys in the hall.
Still though, he relaxed slightly as she continued. Nodding slowly, he listened and took in her words, though felt color stain his cheeks at mention of his... well, slacker behavior. "I've been trying to, really. Just... I guess not hard enough," he finished weakly, flushing more at his pathetic attempt to even consider using an excuse. Silence claimed him as she approached slightly.
His head snapped up when she finished, mouth agape and green swallowed by the increased white in his eyes. "Y-you are? You're gonna teach me more about the Force?"
Like when they'd first met, his shyness and awkwardness fell away into childish innocence and awe at her words and actions. His fits clenched enthusiastically before him. "Thank you, Kailey! So... how are you going to help me with this lesson?" Interaction with the Force... with another, wasn't it? He blinked and stood patiently, watching her like the hawk Jin seemed to have formed into above.

Kae smirked, nodding quickly to his joyous outburst. Kids were way too easy to please... not to mention easy to occupy.
Taking a step back now, she clapped her hands together. "O-kay! Partners need to tap into the Force together, right?" His nod pushed her on. "Easy 'nough. Mmkay, Force info one-oh-one."
Like any classic teacher, she took then to pacing left to right before him, one arm crossed behind her back while the other was held aloft with only her pointer finger extended upward. Comical, really. "Every living being in the universe is connected to the Force one way or another. Those who are especially sensitive to it, like us, can even learn to tap into it and manipulate it. Note, manipulate -you can't actually control it, the Force is waaay too vast for that. You just... borrow part of it for a bit, and ask it to do what you want it to. Just without speaking, and without any usual means of contact."
Edan looked like he might start laughing at her explenation, much to her annoyance. "Hey, you want the technical-heavy version or what? Suck it up and listen up." At least that got him to stop snickering.
Coming to a stop before him again, she held out both her hands palm forward towards him. Without even a blink she slowly began to use the Force to apply pressure on him, this time on his hands. "See? I'm not asking or telling the Force to listen to me, but it does. It's all about how you approach it." Now her palms fell, and the directed pressure towards him faded. "You can't approach a krayt dragon and just expect it to bow down to you like that-" She snapped her fingers. "you need to win it over, show it you're not a threat. You can show it you're equals, but it's easier to just play submissive and let it think it's the top of the food chain, cuz, really, it is." She now shrugged, smiling simply. "Another example: Wookiees. Great people, awesome allies -worst species to ever piss off. Always show the utmost respect for them, and they will treat you well. Eh... well, so long as you're not on their planet. If you do go to their homeworld, never even hint to threaten their forest. Or they will kill you. Or at least try to. And probably succeed." Now that she's horrified the boy... "The Force is similar. Approach it well, and keep your respect for it, and it will come to you and aid you. It'll never let you be the boss, so you might as well get used to being the bot-er, well, just get used to the idea that Jedi and Sith ain't the top notches in the worlds, even with the Force.
It might not always be there, if you're not mindful of its power."
Her voice had slipped away, distant and hollow as she'd faded into memories and thoughts and- Edan's presence and watchful gaze brought her back however, with a re-lit grin. "I assume you already connected to it before, right?"

Was it even possible to be this confused? Apparently, yes, very much so.
He'd listened to every word, nodding his head at her initial explenation of the Force. But it was... well, funny, really. You'd think she was talking about a sentient being, the way she was going on about it. Of course he had to snicker. It was the first he'd ever heard of someone speak of the Force like that!
Edan watched in silence then as she raised her palms, blinking when he felt a pressure against his hands, similar to the one he'd felt against his chest. Had she been the reason...? He realized it was possible, as this was a lesson about using the Force....
Still though, it was an interesting point she made then. And really... why hadn't he thought of that? Although her continued examples and explanations were rather... well, unnerving -he knew of no one else that would suggest walking up to a krayt dragon, that's for sure-, but he kept his mouth shut and comments to himself. It wasn't like this was his first sign his sponsor was a little... odd. But her point was fascinating. Manipulation, not control, was what Jedi and Sith utilized to use the Force. They were only a part of it, after all, so really... he was rather awed and floored by this dawning concept. Everything was a part of it... and they could use it, if the Force let them...? Manipulate the Force, not control -one can't control the universe, right? Only manipulate, borrow a part of it.
Respect... respect the Force? Now that he'd heard it, and felt the small pressures against his body as she manipulated the Force, he felt... he felt calmed by this concept. To respect it, that which bound life in the universe... didn't seem like such a strange idea, really. A good one, in fact.
Slowly, an accepting smile came to his features as he nodded. "I'll be mindful though. The universe is so big, and if the Force is in every living creature... I can respect it." He didn't comment on her suddenly distant appearance and tone, but in moments it was gone nonetheless. To each their own histories, he supposed. Again, a nod. "Yes, I have. In my room before. It... it was nice. I felt all warm and stuff." He grinned like the child he was now. "Is that how the Force will always feel?"

She had to chuckle at his quick confirmation, wondering if he really did understand the magnitude of what he'd just said. It didn't matter though, he'd learn eventually -all did, at some point or another.
"Warm?" She blinked, cocking her head to the side. The Force... warm? A small shove caused Jin to bob lower than his norm hovering height, beeps of confusion and protest reminding her of tropical birds in this setting. Warm? She rustled some leaves a few yards from her. Warm..? It just felt... normal to her. Just a constant in her life that never fluctuated in the slightest, pulsating like her blood throughout her being. She had a pretty simple explenation for that, though, more she thought on it.
She smiled prettily at Edan. "I wouldn't be surprised if that's how it feels to you. Different people experience different sensations, depending on how they approach the Force." She shrugged. "If you feel it again when you tap into it again here, then yeah, that's how the Force feels... to you."

He blinked. Tap into it... here? Now? He swallowed, rolling his shoulders again in an attempt of relaxing. Not too effective...
Sighing, he closed his eyes, head slowly dropping down till his chin nearly touched his chest. The stars. He could see them within his mind, their calm brilliance the true guides in this ever changing and bustling universe. Countless planets, countless people -a warmth and collection and belonging he could never hope to describe. It seemed so much quicker this time, accessing that warmth and pulling it within himself to where it coiled and flowed through his body like blood.
This was the Force. He took a moment to appreciate the slightly ironic, yet at the same time perfect, fact he found the Force through the stars and the warmth he felt from them. The Force connected all of them, right? In a way, he guessed. Well... it made sense in his head anyways.

Her eyes danced as she felt the Force shift around him, the sensation of collection and bubbling with him at the center the sign she was looking for. It wasn't the smoothest she'd ever seen, but for a beginner, it wasn't the worst either. Still felt strange though, to see someone actually have to pause and collect themselves to tap into the Force. It was like breathing to her, just a continuation of her body that required no extra thought. Watching him... it took a great deal not to laugh at the beginner.
"So you know how to tap into it, good." She stepped forward, arms stretched out towards him, palms facing him. "Now to manipulate it."
She pushed lightly against him, barely a nudge. "Push it through your arms, into your hands, and out of the center of your palms. Shove it out, or let it pulse out lightly -your choice. Obviously you're gonna have to learn how to control the strength of your attacks, but do whatever for a first shot."
