Want to know the first thing that popped into my head when i read that statement?
...
Well I'm going to tell you anyway!
How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie pop?

Obviously more uniformity is needed in the studies. A water buffalo would need far fewer licks than say a field mouse. Not all licks are created equal.

well we could create a formula that would take into account the surface area of the tongue that comes into contact with the tootsie pop, amount of saliva present to dissolve it and so on. From that we could find out for every person and water buffal, and field mouse alike, effectively answering this question biggrin ...or you know...just keep it unanswered kinda works as well....
