The Go Club where members learn and practice the game of Go.
Walking in on stocking feet, Ken entered the room and looked around.
Tatami mats covered the entire floor. From the back to the front of the room two files of Go boards, large blocks of wood with a grid scored onto their top surface, sat on stumpy legs. Zabuton lay on either side of these boards. A wide aisle was left free and clear down the center of the long room.
A variety of folding screens--ricepaper and bamboo, washi and lacquered wood, and others--were placed before the windows, diffusing the entering light.
A long low table running nearly the width of the room was pushed up against the back wall. A tea set was on one end, a stack of books on the other.
Ken looked at the mangled piece of paper that was his schedule. Had he come at the wrong time? While things were prepared, no one seemed in evidence. Shaking his head, he backed out of the room.
[Ken exits.]
(OOC: As to the description of the room, please PM if I've overlooked something or have gotten something horribly, horribly wrong.)
(EDIT: OOC: as I'm involved with 5 clubs and there is no actual schedule as of yet, I'm laying down the groundwork for the eventual use of the room--that and it gives me something to do. Frankly, I don't know which club to go to first and no one has yet posted entry in any of the other clubs.)

((OOC: Because of a day absence and the missing of most of Homeroom and Lunch, I am teleporting Ken in from Homeroom 2-A.))
[Ken enters the Go Club.]
At the entryway, Ken removed his shoes and walked across the tatami mats. He knew he had the right time, yet no one was here. Well, he'd have to find some way to amuse himself until someone showed up.
Some minutes later, Ken sat in the seiza position on a zabuton at one of the Go boards. In one hand he held a slim volume of Go strategies. His right hand dipped into a small wooden bowl at his side. When his right hand rose up out of the bowl, he held a black Go stone between forefinger and middle finger. He took a moment to check the koseki diagram. With a flick of his wrist he snapped the stone down onto the grid.
The stone hit the grid and slid out from beneath his fingers and shot across the board. At the end of its arc, it bounced once, twice, and thrice before stopping on the tatami mat. Yep, I need to practice.
Ken got up and retrieved the stone. Holding the stone between forefinger and thumb, he set out the koseki laid out in the picture. Once it was laid out to his satisfaction, he set out to study.

Despite himself, Ken yawned. He actually felt his jaw pop. Perhaps it was time for a break? He got up slowly, wincing as the blood flooded his cramped and numb legs. He stood for a moment on unsteady limbs. Slapping his legs, he grimaced at the pain and vowed not to sit in seiza if he could help it. Gingerly, he walked the length and breadth of the hall as the pins and needles in his feet went away.
After a few minutes, Ken sat back down, crossing his legx Indian style. It took him a few minutes but he set up yet another layout and studied the moves illustrated in the following pages of the book.
Ken hoped someone would show up soon. He wanted to play.

Ken's internal clock informed him that club activities were over. Throwing his arms above his head, he stretched and did not fight the coming yawn this time. If he was the only one that came to this club, then he might as well begin looking for a new club. He was familiar with enough anime to understand that clubs with few to no members did not exist for very long. What were his options? He could go back to the Library Exploration Club or he could try out the Magic & Acrobatics Club.
As Ken considered what he would do, he picked up the Go stones off the board and dropped them into their appropriate bowls. After putting away the books that he had pulled and straightening up the zabuton, he really could find nothing else to do. Time to head back to the the dorms.
[Ken exits Go Club, enters School Grounds.]
