See i was wondering why do people like this, why did they start reading this, and who likes what. So simple just answer these questions, and talk about your feelings on the subject. 1: What started you on the path to reading these kinds of things or watching them. 2: Why do you like it 3: Whats the number one series you know of 4: Random thoughts.
Mine============== ================= 1: What started you on the path to reading these kinds of things or watching them. Well my older sister is a lesbian. she love this stuff and found out i like manga. so she showed me some of her books. I got hooked. 2: Why do you like it The stories, and emotions are strongest in these series so how can i not like something like this. I have yet to see a straight series have this much passion. 3: Whats the number one series you know of Strawberry panic, but then again i haven't seen many 4: Random thoughts. You know for all the weirdness people say on this subject, i really dont see the problem. I mean really now, 99% of the time there is a beautiful story backing it. The 1% is hent@i -_- not that i dislike it, i just wish they had more of a story.

Well, believe or not...I would look at sorts of hentai. (shameful days indeed >_>)
Sooner or later my ultra-delayed moral standards began to kick in, and I was like..."why am I looking at this?" Then I stuck with solely yuri and shoujo-ai. Then the first thing I've noticed is that there's so much emotion in shoujo-ai that you began to feel it yourself. Then began searching for the shoujo-ai manga and anime that I could find.
That's I become Shoujo-ai lover I am today! 3nodding

1: What started you on the path to reading these kinds of things or watching them. Actually, I got started by watching a small clip involving Suzuna and Tomomi from Moonlight Lady. The rest, I found on YouTube, and got hooked to stuff like Kannazuki no Miko with their lovey dovey story 2: Why do you like it It's really lovey dovey, very cute, to me. They go so much deeper than in other romance genres (at least, they go deeper than Hollywood. They just don't care anymore) 3: Whats the number one series you know of Well, actually, it might be Candy Boy, but Kannazuki no Miko was my very first, and that was really good. 4: Random thoughts. I have tried to get into Yamibou and Strawberry Panic twice. They didn't work, and I stopped watching before I finished.

@ Xion: ninja Do not judge!
My moral standards haven't kicked in completely, yet. BUT, that does not mean I watch shoujo-ai for those reasons! That is also not why I roleplay in shoujo-ai roleplay boards on Invision Free.

Yeah, both sites in my sig are roleplay boards hosted by Invision, if you wanted clarification on that, too.
The first one is just shoujo and yuri roleplaying. I'm there under the username "CrimsonZanpakuto". The second one is general romance (all three, pretty much), but has way fewer members. I'm under the same username as I am here.

The beauty of the art and the emotional feeling it gives you is what got me hooked. There is so much more soul to Yuri then there is to regular hentai.

Like many have mentioned, I too believe that shoujo-ai just has that little spark between couples that is difficult to find in other romance anime. I don't know.. something about each character is unique the majority of the time, and you often find other characters somewhat.. lacking? But yeah, emotions are pretty much all over the place in shoujo-ai.
For example, I had NEVER cried over a work of fiction until I watched Kannazuki no Miko. Seriously, man. I was tearful for weeks and weeks.
I believe I began gaining interest in this stuff when I stumbled across a KnM amv on YouTube.. I seriously don't remember. Let's just go with that, then. IT'S YOUTUBE'S FAULT.
Random thoughts? Yes, I have one. How come in EVERY shoujo-ai series, there has to be at least one girl with blue hair? I don't understand it. ;__;

o0ooo i'm new and what a nice way to start my first post - like an interview ^_^;
1: What started you on the path to reading these kinds of things or watching them. === i'm just rather a little bit lots attracted to girls :3 plus i realized the other day that yuri/shoujo-ai is so hard to find and everyone's drowning in yaoi. i wouldn't say yuri has more emotion than yaoi or vice versa.. those types of stories are written like that on purpose.
2: Why do you like it === because the girls aren't like real girls. i'm not saying real girls are crap but yuri/shoujo-ai girls are given specific personalities that are always realllyy cute XD plus most yuri girls are well endowed. i just love the squishiness.
3: Whats the number one series you know of === i've always been a big fan of kiddy grade and mai-hime and recently i started watching kannazuki no miko. there was a really cute ova called candy * boy that is my favorite at the moment.
4: Random thoughts. === blue hair? lol... i guess that's cause the blue haired girls are the semes? so blue = royal (for some reason...) ... maybe that's looking to hard into it lol.

1: What started you on the path to reading these kinds of things or watching them. Accidentally stumbling across CCS GL fics. xD Don't ask.
2: Why do you like it The emotional feeling and how it centers around both of them. And the storylines, of course~
3: Whats the number one series you know of I'm not sure, I like a lot of series. :3 Right now it's Candy Boy. ♥
4: Random thoughts. I haven't seen KnM yet. D: Maybe once I get out of school...so in about 2 weeks I'll start.

1: What started you on the path to reading these kinds of things or watching them. ===Uhm. AMV's on Youtube, AdultFanFiction.net, and one of my girlfriends was super into yuri. Futa, BDSM, kink, etc etc, just about any fetish. Fun stuff like that. (I'll just go ahead and say 'The Internet.' Once I got into looking at torrents and forums, I was shocked at just how much stuff was out there.) I was hesitant at first, but I grew to like it. Hentai isn't really my bag, but I do loves me some yuri romance. It can't just be sex. There has to be emotion, love, so much more. I can't stand generic hentai. Ick.
2: Why do you like it === Although some series are very fantastical, (KnM) there's something that's really down-to-earth in them. (It's so intensely character driven.) Shoujo ai has really had an impact on my life, oddly enough. More often than not, it's so tender and emotional I can't ******** resist it. Which is odd, because I'm seen as someone who's just the opposite. lol If people knew.
3: Whats the number one series you know of === Number one? Probably a massive tie for Simoun, KnM, Strawberry Panic, Yamibou, and Marimite.
4: Random thoughts. === I ******** love fanfiction.

1: What started you on the path to reading these kinds of things or watching them. Hmmm, I think I was first introduced to shoujo-ai way back when I was like 10 and my dad bought me a volume of Utena. He mainly got it for the strong female role Utena played and it happened to have been a shoujo-ai story! I had never read stories on lesbian characters and the overall storyline was different and intriguing.
2: Why do you like it I have an overall love for romance stories in general, so the appeal is there for that. But gets me more fangirly is that it's such a wonderful portrayal of women loving women. And I'm a sucker of cute women. rofl
3: Whats the number one series you know of Number one in what way? My current, current loves are Strawberry Panic, Strawberry Shake Sweet (something about those strawberries...), and just recently added Sasamekikoto. ^o^
4: Random thoughts. Let's hope to bring shoujo-ai into the American comic industry as well!! Viva la Revolution! whee

1: What started you on the path to reading these kinds of things or watching them. Funny enough, I first got into it when a girl I was becoming friends with handed me a new manga she bought. It was Revolutionary Girl Utena and she wanted me to read it with her because she knew I was into fencing. That was the first manga or anything that I had knowingly read that had girl love in it. Later that year I fell (unexpectedly) for that girl (she was just as shocked to have feelings for a girl) and we are still a happy couple today. XD 2: Why do you like it Nostalgia for the most part. :3 3: Whats the number one series you know of Revolutionary Girl Utena and Kannazuki no Miko 3nodding 4: Random thoughts. My head kills... ninja
