Just thought someone should start this Sub-forum off. Anyone else interested in Chem, and any particular interests?
I really like complexes chemistry and inorganic, but I also just finished 4 weeks of analytical lab and never want to see either a pipette or volumetric flask ever again. Organic is fun, but lacks the pretty colours of inorganic.

Chemistry is interesting because it is everywhere. It is really a core science. I don't think we could really have any other type of modern science without chemistry.

Hmmm... I'd say that organic chemistry is much more complex than inorganic chemistry, but inorganic chemistry tends to have the more flamboyant reactions.
I personally prefer organic chemistry as its more interesting and complex! biggrin

Hmm... but in organic chem you mostly have double and triple bonds, while in inorganic you can end up with quadruple bonds or more! They both seem pretty complex to me. ^_^

I don't think quadruple bonds are possible, because of the orientation of the p-orbials around the nucleus of the atom. At least that's how I remember it.
